Bingo at Creative Inspirations

Good morning all. I'm hoping Mr Blogger plays ball and this post works. I hope to do links before hitting the road but most of today will be spent enroute to Bristol. Not sure where we're going to stop on the way but it will be somewhere!!!! Hopefully we'll be able to make a day of it before getting to our travelodge this evening. Thats going to be something very new and exciting for the girls too - bless them - hope it all goes well!

Over at Creative Inspirations this week's challenge is Bingo!

This week we have 2 prizes and the first of which is from BEARLY MINE DESIGNS and is a £10 GIFT VOUCHER!

The next prize is from our regular sponsor J&C CREATIONS and is another £10 GIFT VOUCHER!

Here's what I did - I used the line snowflakes, white and frantage to make Lucy's card for Christmas. She just adores pandas so I try to find panda images for her cards.

The image is supercute and I thought was from the stamp fairy but I can't seem to find it online so now I'm not sure!  Its coloured in promarkers and then cut with an X-Cut die. The edges were distressed with DI and then the frantage added and heat set. I mounted this on a background embossed with a snowflake embossing folder - I think it was a darice folder. The baubles were free stamps from the recent simply cardmaking and papercraft magazine. I stamped them with versamark and added metallic lilac WOW powders and heat set.  The papers behind all this are from the snowman 12x12 inch paper set and I distressed the edges using a TH distress tool.

I'd like to enter this card into the following challenges:

New release at Crafty sentiments: Christmas rush

Hello lovelies - its time for me to show you the new release at Crafty Sentiments called Christmas Rush and you can get it here. It was in the shop on the 22nd but the day to show you this little beauty is today. Three of us from the DT (the mulled wine drinkers) were charged with coming up with a a common theme each and adding it to our projects. See if you can work out our common elements on the inspirational blog here. Here's my make:

This is a money box for helping me save for Christmas - woo hoo - I definitely need it! Anyway - so what have I done? The box was from the MDF man and was painted with gesso then pebeo acrylic paint. I stamped some script then used an imagination craft stencil called 'the clearing' with sparkle medium. The roof was tiled with sequins and the brass star on the front was covered with versamark and lilac wow powders were added. and heat set. The stamp was coloured with promarkers and fussy cut and added to the moneybox.

I'd like to enter this into the following challenges:

Gracie's card

Good morning lovelies. How are you? Well I hope! Me and my girlies had a lovely day yesterday. We had an afternoon session in the attic - my craft space. I cleared a side bench for them to work on and they had a whale of a time making Halloween stuff whilst I tried to do some tidying in my space - something that is desperately in need of being done. I made some progress shall we say but there's definitely room for more!

Todays card is for Gracie - she's the daughter of a good friend and is 4 today - I've used a topper from Little Claire with the current challenge in mind.

I've used papers from LOTV and the letter stamps from claritystamp. Its a simple card - but I think Gracie will like it!

I'd like to enter this into the following challenges:

A hankie box cover for my mum

Good morning lovelies! I do hope you are well and I want to thank you for all of your wonderful comments yesterday - I was very pleased with my box but even more so after your kind words so thankyou very much!

I've got another box to share with you on this day - the first day of the holidays for my two little munchkins. Its a hankie box and I made it whilst at my mums - and she has claimed it so she must like it!!!

I started with a black box from the MDF man and painted it with gesso then with orange pebeo acrylic paint. Once dry I added the crafty individuals stencil onto each side and the top and used black dreamweaver embossing paste through the stencil. This process was done it batches leaving it to dry between sides. Once this was done I used distress inks (spiced marmalade, scattered straw, walnut stain) to create a background and then used the Crafty Individuals create a meadow stamp set to add pictures to the squares I had cut out of the backround. I stuck these into the pattern then stamped the heartfelt creations stamp firstly with versamark on black card and added copper kettle embossing powder. Secondly with versa on the remaining background paper and black embossing powder. Then I used the die to cut these out and made flowers to sit on the top of the box.

I'd like to enter this box into the following challenges:

Winter Box for Bez - and candy winner

Hello there! Hope you are fit and well and if not here's a hug! Hope that might help! Its the last day of half term today so I'm busy frantically trying to get everything in place - time is always a premium when the kiddies are off on their holidays. And we're off on a jolly to Bristol next week too - from Weds to Saturday - really excited about that!

Before \I show you todays post I must tell you about my candy winner - I failed miserably to take a copy of the image of the mr random but my numbers were 1 -27 and the comment was number three which is hazelsbasketsofjoy! So Hazel - if you could email me your address I'll get the goodies in the post to you ASAP. I have another smaller candy that I didn't advertise too so I put the numbers in again and it came out with the number 16 - stampinginpink Karen. So Karen - I think I have your address but if you could email me then I won't have to look hard!!! Hope that lifts your day ladies!!!

Onto todays post. I've altered a small box (measures about 5" by 6") and will put some goodies in it for my mil for Christmas.

First of all I painted the box with gesso then blue acrylic paint. Next I used versa mark and added the snowflakes stamps and then added sparkling snow wow powders and heat set. Next I did the same with a small star stamp and then added silver wow powders and heat set. Then I added a layer of spray and sparkle from Crafters Companion the silver one. Whilst that dried I stamped the Crafty Individuals image with black archival and heat set before distressing with salty ocean DI. I added the lace around the back of the image then added this to the top of the box. Then I used my mums heartfelt creations die and poinsettia stamp and made the flowers - the image was stamped with versamark  and heat set with wow powders in silver. I stuck the flowers on and added the gems - then added a little frantage and finally the sentiment.

I'd like to enter this box into the following challenges:
Crafty Individualscraftyindividualsblog: October inspired - October is the month my Christmas prepartions reallyH get into full swing!!!!

Good morning all! Thanks for you kind comments on yesterdays post - its very good of you to take the time to come and visit - I do appreciate it!

Hope you are well? We are good although I'm glad I won't be getting weighed for a couple of weeks - I think the Great British bake off has been getting the better of me! I was so glad that Frances won - loved her canapes last week - they were just amazing! Yum yum!!!

I've made this for the winter birthday of my niece Evie. She's going to be 9 this year - growing fast!!! The image is from the stamp fairy and I've coloured her with promarkers and distressed around the edges with tumbled glass DI. The papers are from LOTV. The flowers are WOC and the gems from Chloe.

Hello baby at Crafters Companion

Good morning lovelies! I hope you are well. We're all good and definitely ready for half term which starts here on Friday.

I had a good day with my ladies yesterday - we did the shaving foam and ink background method again and then made butterflies using film and fibre and put the two things together to make bookmarks:

I had a lovely evening too - i went down to a pampered chef evening in the village at a friends house. It was a 'pink' evening so all the 'commission' went to breast cancer - and we did have a lovely time too!!!!

Anyway - onto my post for today - this months challenge at crafters companion is baby - so i've made a baby card for my cousin in america whose wife is expecting their second child.

The image is from the party paws range - the sentiment and baby stamp are all on the same stamp sheet. I've coloured the image with promarkers and used spellbinders dies to cut the image. There's twine in the buttons and the paper is from my stash. I'm hoping my good blog buddy carol hasn't got her promarkers out trying to colour in my wallpaper - lol!!! Brilliant idea carol - it is distracting isn't it?

I'd like to enter this card into the following challenges;

thanks for dropping by today and i hope to see you again soon! Big Hugs rachel xx

Halloween colours at whoopsi daisy

Hello there! How are you? I hope you are well and happy and here's a hug if you're not - hope that might help! Thanks for your comments on yesterdays card - its always nice to hear what you think.

Today its time for a new challenge at (cutedaisymay) whoopsi daisy - this will be my last challenge on the team - I just feel its time to move on. The final challenge is Halloween colours and I've made a tag for this challenge using sheet 445 .

I really enjoyed making this background - I used red and yellow radiant rain and a sponge to create the coloured background then when dry used versamark to add the webs and black wow powders and heat set. The image was coloured with promarkers and fussy cut before adding to the tag.

I'd like to enter this tag into the following challenges:
PIOpileitonchallenge: Halloween
OSAATonestitchatatimechallenge: AG
Glitternsparkleglitternsparklechallengeblog: Halloween
Pan Pastelpanpasteluk: Autumn colours
2 sisters CB2sisterschallengeblog: Halloween colours
AGOACpinkgemchallengeblog: Spooky

I've also got some treat bags I made for my girls and the two children we're visiting on Halloween:

They are all the same - and have lots in them!!! I think they'll go down well! One side includes a panel made using Imagination crafts stencil and sparkle medium. The other side includes an image from Nicecrane designs. I'd like to enter these into ABACanythingbutacard: orange and black.

Thanks for joining me today and I look forward to hearing what you think! Big Hugs! Rachel

p.s. I'm off to see my crafty ladies this morning - we're doing the shaving foam again - back by popular demand - but combining it with fantasy film and fibres in a bookmark. I;ll try to remember my camera and let you see what we all get up to! Hugs xx

New release Day 1 at Crafty Sentiments: New Skates

Good morning all! Today sees the start of the new release previews for Crafty Sentiments. Its a small release this time and you can see the images emerge gradually on the Inspirations blog here. The first preview day is the image called New Skates. Here's what I did:

Isn't she just darling? She's been coloured with promarkers and fussy cut  and glittered before adding hee to a background I created. The paper was from the Snowman - I stencilled trees on top from the stencil called the clearing by Imagination Crafts and then added diamond sparkle medium on top of that. The bottom is just white glitter card although I've found I could have brayered the sparkle medium onto the card to create that - don't have to buy glitter card again!

Tims tag October 2013, a housemouse card and a commenters candy

Hello there - how are you? I hope you are well and happy. I'm feeling better today and thanks for your kind comments yesterday - they always make me feel happy!

So first off today I've got my version of Tims tag Oct 2013 to share with you. Here's the masters tag:

DSC06998

you can find his post about how he made this here.

Here's what I did:

for once I am very happy with this tag - I loved especially creating the background and think the distress paint colours I used worked well (mowed lawn, spiced marmalade, dusty concord, antique linen). I love the drippy effect I managed to achieve. The writing in the background and the skeleton are apothecary remnant rubs and the web and sentiment came from a stamp and cut set that I found fabulously easy to use - the distress glitter on the web and spider is also fabulous - it is different from other glitters - give it a try if you haven't used it! I'd like to enter this into the tims tag challenge.

Onto my next item - a card made from the housemouse triple CD - I'm not a CD crafter but they do come in handy at times:

The images and sentiment came straight from the CD as did the backing paper - I've just added the ribbon and leaves. I'd like to enter this into the housemouse-challenge : pumpkin.

Finally I have a commenters candy to offer you - all you need to do is leave a comment here and be a follower - I don't want you to advertise in your sidebar - I'd rather this went to somebody who drops by here regularly but obviously any followers who leave a comment will be eligible. I will post worldwide.

There's papers, wooden shapes, ribbon, stamps, tatty teddy toppers and an embossing folder.

Looking forward to hearing from you but if you don't wanted to be included in the draw let me know - I will draw the name of a winner on 23rd October.

Big Hugs

Rachel xx
