Winter wonderland at christmas card club

Hello there! How are you? This is a scheduled post as we were away at a wedding yesterday and Penny has a gymnastics competition today - so I didn't want to forget to do this! Its rolled around to Christmas card club again and the theme this fortnight is Winter wonderland. I used some Hobbyart stamps and made a couple of scenic cards....

I did enjoy making these - the stamps are beauties - I wish I had time to make more but I don't think I need too many more so I had to leave it at two. All of the colouring was done using distress.

Hope you have a great day!

Creating with Indigoblu

Hello there! Hope you are ok! We have had a quiet first day to the school holidays - I've just been crafting, cooking, washing and ferrying kids. Quite pleasant indeed!

I made a topper for a card whilst I was away at the Jo Rice weekend....I had been wanting to use these stamps since I bought them so squeezed an extra make in....naughty naughty!

No automatic alt text available.

Just love them - such a fun set - I think the card looks even better but I haven't photographed that so I hope you can get the general idea with the topper!

Hope you've had a great day!

Janet and her fluffy bum bum feathers

Hello there! Been back at Pottyroos today doing my design team piece for the next chocolate baroque show ...it reminded me that I haven't yet showed you Janet on here - she my egg holding chicken that I got back on Tuesday...

No automatic alt text available.

I had lots of fun painting her - and she is sitting proudly in the kitchen now  looking after the eggs. The name came from a little film that I first saw on facebook... I don't seem able to add it into here - just check out my page if you want to see it!!!

Hope you are having a great weekend!

15 minute makes for chocolate baroque

Hello there! I am posting some 15 minute makes that I did for the September shows for Chocolate Baroque today. One you have already seen so I'll leave that one until last.

Simpe stamping, masking, overstamping and then colouring the image.....

Stamping the central area and colouring and then quickly adding distress around the edges and overstamping.

This one was stamping in versa on kraft and then heat setting with white embossing powder and then colouring in pencil.

Finally stamping in flitterglu, adding flake and then colouring in pencil!

I hope you can check out the design team blog for more inspiration!

CCC: Kate's choice - monochrome

Hello there! how are you today? I hope you have been surviving storm Callum. Its been super windy here and has rained all day - I have been up to Lindale today with the family to Jo Rice's weekend and will be back up there tomorrow to complete my projects. More on another day. Tonight I want to show my card for Chritmas card club - I made 4 of these - basically identical - all to the theme set by the lovely Kate of monochrome.

I do hope you like it Kate. The main stamp is from chloe and the small staps from Card-io.

Have a great evening!

Swaps for October

Hello there! How are you? I am still feeling horribly busy - but I took a bit of time out tonight to make some AT coins for this months swaps...I used hobby art stamps:
No automatic alt text available.

I have painted the coins and then stamped the images and then used more paint to colour the images. Since publishing this I have removed this coins from the swap. It was suggested that I copied the designs - I just want to say that I did not but won't enter these into the swap as I don't want to cause any upset. I am now doing some new ones.

I also made some spooky atcs earlier in the week:

No automatic alt text available.

I used some distress oxide background that was lying around and added some pumpkins that I made by stamping black card with flitterglu and adding flake. The pumpkins are by Tim....

I am back in work tomorrow doing some cover this time - hope it all goes well!

Mixed Media Mayhem

Hello there - sorry for the lack of blog activity - things have been mega busy at work and home - can't see much light at the end of that tunnel but here I am blogging about last weekend - I went to Mixed Media Mayhem run by Mark Gould here in Lancaster. I was in Marks class on the Saturday and Tracy Easson's on the Sunday. It was so lovely to spend time with Anne Redfern too - such a lovely lady!!!

My project with Mark was fab - I loved the process although I had a failure with the one step crackle.

Image may contain: plant

Great techniques and I love the outcome!

Tracy's class was just so fabulous - she is such a darling - love her to pieces!

Image may contain: one or more people

I love my makes too - more great techniques and wonderful outcomes!

Hope you are well!

Spooky Fun with an autumnal twist at stamps and stencils

Hello there! Well its time for a new challenge at stamps and stencils - this month its my theme and I would like to see some spooky fun but if thats not your thing autumnal colours also fit the bill ! - you can make anything you like as long as it is in a mixed media style and involves stamps or stencils!!!

Here's what I've been up to for this month.

A bit tongue in cheek with some stamps in the background from crafty individuals and in the front from ranger (mischievous malcolm).

I put together my card like this:

I used distress oxides to create the background then overstamped in versafine clair ink...

After that I added my stamped images and created a little scene!! A bit spooky but more fun than anything!

I do hope you can join us - the main post is here.

Lady's slipper orchid and decorative edges

Hello there! I am over on the chocolate Broque blog today showing these pieces...

I hope to see you over there. Hugs rachel x

a vegetation sensation!

Hello there! I do hope you are well and happy. Its my second post for Countryview Challenges today with my theme this month which is 'plantastic'. I've hit the paperartsy paints, stamps and stencils and had a lovely messy play....

Here's the start - I used green patina and key lime from paperartsy seth-apter-set-2 paints and slimed and sargasso from -tracy-scott-set and also  one called seaglass. I spread it all over a hardboard using my fingers ...

when dry I got some stencils out and stencilled these images...

then I added some stamping using jofy59 and jofy63. and also my trustee white posca pen.

More painting, stamping and cutting out...and finally - the finished article ...

I hope I can tempt you into joining us! You can link up here.

Plantastic at Countryview Challenges

Hello there! Wow - October already! How did that happen? Well its my turn to host the challenge at Countryview and I have chosen the theme - PLANT-TASTIC! Made up word I know - but what I'm really getting at is vegetation of any type - including flowers ...you could even do something like potato prints.

So my first piece to try and inspire you is using the recent release of dies from Tim Holtz that you can find here.

Here's the finished piece - these dies are so funky!!!

I cut the plants out and then coloured and stuck the parts together....

Next I added some stencilled plants to an mdf-monolith and after drying I added paint...

Here it is - next it was a case of playing with a posca pen and then arranging the plants before adding the words.

I do hope you can join us! You'll find the link up here and loads more inspiration too! You could win a £20 voucher to spend in susan's store!!!

Big hugs
