A walk in the countryside

Hello there - well I want to show a card today that I have made for a friend of a friend - a masculine card for a guy who walks and will be 70. This is the card I made so I thought it would fit the masculine challenge at Countryview Challenges perfectly.

I used distress oxides to create the scenery then overstamped using some hobbyart scene it stamps. The verse is from a set also by hobbyart . The tree is a Lavinia stamp.
I believe it was liked so thats always good.
There is still time to link up your masculine makes at Countryview - you can do that here.
Hope you have a great day!

Santa at Christmas Card club

Hello there! How are you today? Happy Mother's Day! I am at work all day but am going out to the pub with my mum and girls for tea in the evening - I hope you have a good Mother's day! I had another fair yesterday at Leyland near Preston. Did very well . It was organised in aid of the Ukraine - so it was an even lovelier than ever!

Today its Christmas card club again - the theme this fortnight is Santa. I made 4 cards using products from Crafty Individuals.

The central image is stamped - the others are on paper. I quite like these.

My mum's are just gorgeous though....

They're both lovely aren't they? I especially like the red one!
Hope you all have a great day!

Carols at Christmas Card Club

Hello there! Well we've skipped into March and now we have a Christmas Card Club featuring Christmas carols. I decided to use a Tracy Easson stamp and made 4 very similar cards.

The mouseketeers are singing carols on my cards.

My mum's take on the theme is totally different. She has used clarity stamps on both cards.

Great cards mum!

I look forward to seeing what all my teamies have done.

Have a great Sunday!
Hugs

Masculine cards

Hello there - and happy March to you!

The new challenge over at Countryview Challenges this month is Masculine Birthday. Here are my makes for this theme.

Both are made using glorious stamps from Dominic Phillips at Aall and Create which can be found in store here.

These cards have already been received and the recipients were really pleased with them. Both were sent as male birthday cards - featuring man's best friend!

Hope you can join our challenge - a £20 voucher is the prize. You can find more inspiration and link up here.
Big hugs
Rachel.

Snow People at Christmas Card Club

Hello there - well another fortnight has rolled by and this time the Christmas card club challenge is 'snow people'. I have made 4 cards in total - all using hobbyart stamps.

Top right is on one stamp set and the other three are on a different stamp set! I do like snowies!

My mum has come up with three cards. This first one she can't recall the maker of the stamp.

These second two include a stamp by stampendous and a hunkydory frame die.

Both very cute!

Hope you have a great Sunday!

Hugs

More sentiments at Countryview Challenges

 Hello there!

I have my second inspirational post for Countryview Challenges this month where the theme is 'Be Sentimental'.

I have used two different sentiments - both from Visible image - to make two cards - both have a gel press inky background with patterns from a stencil.

For this first one I used tumbled glass distress oxide on the gel press and a paperartsy stencil to make the background before adding the sentiment and the fussycut flowers.

A very similar idea but a different sentiment and a Lavinia stencil on the abandoned coral distress oxide gel press print. I hink these two parts are meant to be the other way around - my error - but I like it this way too.

I do hope you can find time to join the challenge!

Christmas Night Sky at Christmas Card Club

Hello there! How are you? This is a scheduled post as I will already be at work. Its been a busy week but now its time to relax and think about Christmas Card club. The theme this fortnight is Christmas Night Sky and I did enjoy this one. I have made three cards :

This one uses an embossing folder from Sheena douglass with distress ink and also a black brush pen.
My second one used distress ink to make the background then a combination of Lavinia stamps (trees) and IndigoBlu stamps (santa and words).

My mum also had fun making her cards -

This one used distress inks and Lavinia stamps. Whilst the second one used a topper from HunkyDory.

I've been having lots of fun getting ready for sales coming up. My puffin pots are my current faves made using Hobbyart stamps.

I am hoping they do well.
I have spent the last couple of days painting kingfishers - lots of joy!
Hope you have a lovely Sunday!

Be sentimental at Countryview Challenges

Hello there - time once again for a new month - and, of course, for me that means a new challenge over at Countryview Challenges. This month its all about the sentiment on your card. I wanted to stock up for Mother's Day so my first two cards are made with that in mind.

So, both cards include the same sentiment and started life as a gelli print done using ink.....but the similarities end there.
The first has been finished off using Lavinia stamps - blackberry lunar buds, sidney, and Raven.
The second has been finished off using various flower stamps stamped onto inky card and fussy cut.
I am hoping this is what Jane had in mind when she set the theme!
Have a great day!

Timeless - more on time at Countryview Challenges

Hello there! Well I am over at Countryview Challenges again today with more inspiration for the time themed challenge.

This time I have used a more traditional stamp from Chocolate Baroque - I have simply stamped it then restamped the clocks on some patterned paper and added them after fussy cutting. Lastly I edged the image in shaded lilac distress oxide.
I do hope you can join the challenge!
Big hugs

2 or more patterned papers at Christmas card Club

Hello there! How are you? I do hope you are well? I am happy and busy and just rolling with life and its ups and downs.

Its Christmas card club today and the theme is two or more patterned papers - this is what I came up with ...

Although it may not look like it - this is, infact 2 patterned papers from crafty individuals overlapped - the central row does not belong to the bottom and top - I have also added gem toppers that I bought at Country View Crafts during the run up to Christmas!
I have used the same idea but a different gem topper on the bottom ones.

My mum also made two cards :

This first one uses Chloe papers.... the second uses Lisa Horton papers and a spellbinders die.

I am at work today as usual - I hope to have chance to visit my lovely teamies this evening - I don't think I made it to comment on the last cards so I will attempt to do both at once.

Big hugs
Have a great Sunday!

Embossing folders at Christmas card Club

Hello there! I do hope you are enjoying the new year! Its been pretty busy here - what with working, volunteering, run club and taking my mum out. I have enjoyed it though!

This first fortnight the theme at Christmas Card Club is Embossing folders - I managed to make 4 cards:

I think they are a combination of crafters companion and Sheena Douglass folders - all used very simply with distress oxide inks and matting a sentiment. The sentiment is from Crafty Individuals.

My mum has used one of the same embossing folders it teamed it up with a chocolate baroque Mistletoe stamp.

I think that works very well mum - might do some like that myself!

Hope you have a lovely Sunday!

Time/clocks at Countryview Challenges

Hello there - and a very happy New Year to you. May 2023 bring health and happiness to you and yours!

We have a new challenge at Countryview challenges and the theme is time/clocks. I have a twofer for my first post. This time using Visible image stamp sets - quite old ones but I think they fitted the theme well! And new is not always better!

For both the backgrounds I used the distress oxide Lumberjack Plaid that I added to a craft sheet, spritzed and mopped up with card.

Once dry I added background stamping in lumberjack plaid using the Time stamp set - then added more stamping from the same set in black including the main image and the words.

On the second card I added stamps from the Ahead of our time stamp set which you can find here.
The background stamping in red is a script stamp from IndigoBlu that is always on my desk!

I do hope you can join in the challenge this month!

Big hugs rachel xx
