Happy Birthday Penny

Goodly morning to you! Its my little Penny's 11th birthday today and I thought I would share the card I made for her with you. I have used papers from clarity and washi sheets from Jane Davenport - I really hope she likes it!!!

I stuck the washi figures to acetate to get them to come out of the top ... I think it works well in the flesh but it is tricky to photograph!

We are having a family day - don't know what yet!

Black, white ....and yellow!

Hello there! Its my turn over on the Countryview Challenges blog today - the theme this month is black and white or black and white plus one other colour. I chose today to use black, white and yellow!

I started off with a monolith of sorts in MDF and painted it white...then I added some tissue that a lovely lady had given me as part of a swap I am involved in ....Next I set to stamping one of the flowers from Aall and Create's A4 stamp no.109. I stamped it twice on black in versamark and set with white powder. I also stamped it on yellow card and used the petals as leaves and the centre of the flower.

Finally I just added this Tim message....

I do hope you like my piece - I am rather fond of it!

Christmas Birds at Christmas Card Club

Hello there! Its our fortnightly visit to Christmas card club and the theme this fortnight was provided by my mum - she chose Christmas birds. I made 4 cards, 2 of each design, all using the same stamp from Chocolate Baroque.

Here's all four together - such a cheeky robin on the mince pie.

Here's the coloured one - I used clarity papers and paper pieced the pie and bird....

This one is much simpler - stamping and colouring with inktense pencils....

And here are my mums cards....

this first one shows a hunky dory little book topper paired with a hunkydory die.

this second one has a robin stamp from hobbyart and there are small lavinia stamps around the edge.

I am looking forward to seeing what the other ladies have made too!

15 minute makes for Chocolate Baroque

Good morning! Thankyou for dropping by! I hope you are well. We are all good and excited about the school holidays! Yay! Happy girls!

Its 15 minute make day over on the chocolate baroque blog today - I have three cards to share with you:

For this one I used a mask to add the shape then overstamped and coloured the flowers in pencils.

This one was a simple stamping and colouring again with pencils before adding the pen around the edges.

This one I did onto a background that was already there in the pile - its a distress oxide bckground and I overstamped then added colour in pencil.
Three quick and simple cards - there are masses more ideas on the design team blog.
Big hugs and hope you have a great day!

Learning to do cable

Evening all! Hope you have had a good day. I have been at work all day but it has been fine - I feel like I am starting to settle in. It is hard work but at least I am getting some pennies to put in the pot! Got to be good!

I have been learning to knit over the last year and last week I did a class where I learned to do cabling - what a fab technique - and so simple really! I made a tissue holder - here it is ....in progress ...

And the finished article....

I am pleased with this!

Hope you have had a good Monday - looking forward to Cold Feet tonight ...its like having old friends around!

Big hugs

Birthday boys for February ... plus Forgotten

Good morning all! How are you! Apologies for my absence - my Lucy has been poorly, I have been covering some lessons at work and finally Friday and Saturday we were all involved in the performances of Forgotten - a play documenting what happened after endy left Neverland. More of that later.

First of all I have managed to make my mle birthday cards for February - and here they are....

All started the same as backgrounds made using oxides and/or  pixie powders.... all involve visible image stamps. This one is for a nephew.....

I also used a TH stencil on this one - for one of my friends twin boys who are 13 today.

This is for the other twin boy! They were both involved in the play too. I was mainly in scenes with Joe whom this card is for. We were both pirates!

Some pictures from our play ....

Image may contain: 1 person, smiling, standing

Here's Lucy as Tabitha Knell - a human form of TinkerBell.
Image may contain: one or more people and people standing

Penny as the young Wendy - her scenes were all flashbacks.
Image may contain: 2 people, people smiling, hat, closeup and outdoor

Here's Elaine and I - both playing pirates!

Such fun - a good couple of nights was had by all!

Have a great day!

Timeless Fabric Panel

Hello there! I am over on the chocolate baroque blog today with the first of my samples that didn't quite make it for the January shows.

This used one of the fabric panels from the shows and I added them to a fabric bag. You can find more details over at the Chocolate Baroque blog.

Fairies or angels at Christmas card club

Hello there ...How are you? I do hope you are wrapped up and managing to keep warm. Its been very chilly hasn't it? Park run here was even cancelled today due to icy surfaces. Still, I managed to get some lengths in at the pool instead!

I am posting a day earlier for Christmas Card Club as I have another post scheduled for tomorrow. The theme this fortnight is angels or fairies - I have gone for the fairy option and my mum has done one of each!

Here are mine - I made backgrounds using oxides and pixie powders on the gelli plate then finished off with more distress inks, masking and stamping.

Here's a close up! I also added some glitter on the wings and some posca pen on the berries.

Here are the ones my mum did ....

Firstly one using distress oxides and lavinia stamps ....

and this one used a diesire die...

I do hope you like our makes!

Big hugs!

Black and white at Countryview Challenges

Hello there! How are you today? Doing well I hope! I have a black and white card to share with you today as thats the new theme over at countryviewchallenges - Black and White - or black, white and one other colour!

I have used stamps from two sets from visible image - I fancied doing a masculine card and this is what I came up with - the set I used to create the background is called Ahead of our time - I simply repeat stamped this then cut it out and mounted it on a black mat. I also used the stamp set somewhere-in-time to add the topper and sentiments.

Hope you can join our challenge - you could win £20 to spend in Susan's shop!

Big hugs
