Lights at Christmas Card Club

Hello there. Its Christmas Card Club day today! Wow - don't the weeks roll by quickly! The theme this time around is lights - I was very pleased to see this theme as I knew immediately that I could use more unused stuff!!!

I had some inky gelli plate prints that I had already made and added my TH candle die cuts plus my Sheena poinsettia corner diecut.... and then I did it a few more times....

My mum went down a slightly different route - she used a lovely embossing folder .... and a superdooper die! I think they both look fab!

I hope you have a fab Sunday!

Saturday with Jo Rice

Hello there! First of all apologies for being such a bad blogger - time has not been on my side of late - but I promise I am off to visit your blogs right after I complete this post! I do miss my regular visits but sadly time is very tight just now! Maybe once the exams have finished at school I'll be able to do a little more!
On Saturday - ,yself and my trusty girls and mum went off to Lindale for a very lovely class with Jo Rice. We were doing Lavinia again - yes! Happy dance time!  Here are my makes:

We started with the inspire card - then did the beauty card and finally the grace card - I also did the bookmark. The border in that that the raven is sat on was the class stamp - so very lovely and so useful too.

We all came away with lovely makes and it was, as always a thoroughly enjoyable day.
I spent most of Sunday making samples for Indigo Blu for their show next weekend... here's a sneaky peek of a couple of samples ....

The shows are on Sunday - take a look if you dare!

Off to visit your sites now!!!

15 minute makes for Chocolate Baroque

Hello there! Its time for another 15 minute make post from me - there are way more amazing samples on the Chocolate Baroque DT blog but here are my two contributions for the samples from Aprils shows... in both samples I used the bare tree embossed in white. But thats where the similarity ends....

In the first sample I stamped onto kraft card and then dressed the tree with many leaves using promarker pens...

In this second sample I stamped onto black card then coloured using mica powders.

There is oodles more inspiration on the design team blog.

More opposites at Countryview Challenges

Hello there! Its my posting day at Countryview Challenges today and I have another card based on the current theme - opposites. This time I went for a card with a black and white background and added coloured butterflies.

The black and white script in the background is a stamp from the Tim Holtz ...entomology set. The butterflies have been cut using the sizzix-bigz-die---tattered-butterfly-by-tim-holtz. I created the card that I cut the butterflies from using pixie powders. I also used some stickers from Tim Holtz for the sentiment.

Hope you have a great day!

children at CCC

Hello there! Another fortnight has passed and its time for Christmas card club - this fortnight the theme is children - I will kick off with my mums cards as she has followed the theme ...

This card used card-io stamps and stamps by me dies....

This card used clarity stamps and stencils....

I chose the anything goes theme and used a die set from Tim Holtz. I added the die cut shapes onto backgrounds I had made using the inks on gelli plate technique that we had done in the Jo Rice class.

Four super quick cards to add to my stash!!!

And now for something completely different - a zig zag lace scarf that I have been making over the last month - its here on my blocking boards!

Hope you have a great day!

A day with Jo Rice

Hello there! How are you? I do hope you are well and happy! We are good but the exam season has kicked in again so my time is even more limited than usual.. still its a must to do invigilating to help pay for holibobs!!! Mustn't grumble - at least I have the opportunity!

A couple of Saturdays ago we went up to Lindale for Cumbria Crafters and spent some time with the lovely Jo Rice making cards using Lavinia stamps.... Here are two of my makes...

The one on the left involved simple inking and stamping whereas the one on the right included use of a gelli plate to create the central portion.
The other two cards we made also included gelli ink backgrounds.

On this one we did stamping on the card aswell as the topper ...

This one was very simple - but I like it alot!

It was a lovely day - looking forward to this months too!

Landscapes for Chocolate baroque

Hi there! Its my turn on the Design team blog for Chocolate Baroque today - I decided to show my samples from Aprils show using the Trees a crowd set of stamps. First off is my painted pottery piece:

I used a variety of green glazes to overpaint my stamped images and create the scene around the entire bowl.

I also added a stamped image inside the bowl.
Next up a couple of cards ....

A bit of a CAS card using some of the stamps from this set ...

And an inky landscape with that fabulous tree - beautiful for a winter birthday - or dress it up for another season....
Lastly an ATC using perspex layers - from Thats Crafty...

I hope you like my samples!

Opposites at Countryview Challenges

Hello there! The first of May! Well the year really is skipping along horribly quickly isn't it? The first means its also time to launch a new challenge at Countryview challenges - and this time the theme is opposites,

I decided to base my opposites on destinations for a holiday - city or desert island? I used the globes from Tim Holtz that you can find here. I also used two background stamps from indigoblu plus pixie powders. The Adventure word came from an AallandCreate stamp set.
I do hope you can join us - see the main challenge page here for more inspiration and details of how to join in!
