Lots of layers at Christmas card club

 Hello there!

Well a fortnight has rolled around again and its time to come out to play with Christmas Card Club. This time the theme is Lots of layers. I have used a stamp on the same set as the dacshund I used last fortnight - so this time its the sugar pug fairy!

In each case I stamped the image and coloured with watercolour pens - then matted and layered it onto a piece of christmas paper from Crafty Individuals and then matted and layered it onto a card - I made 4.

My mum made two different cards - for this one she used the tattered poinsettia die and some papers from Hunky Dory.
For this second one she used hunky dory toppers and crafters companion
papers.

Looking forward to seeing what the ladies have made in this theme!

Had a brilliant day yesterday with my daughter Lucy - we took the Keswick launch to the start point and climbed over cat bells then dropped down and walked back along the shoreline!

Have a great Sunday!

Final July samples from Chocolate Baroque

  Hello there,

I have my final set of samples from the July Chocolate Baroque shows to share today.  The first one includes a super image that I have made into a tag. The image is called The Gift and I have simple stamped it and heat set in clear embossing powder. I have then used mica powders to paint in the image.

In this second sample I have used a piece of calico fabric which I painted randomly and then stamped an image from the Butterfly Dreams stamp set onto it. I then used paints to then add more details to the stamped image and added to an embroidery ring.
My final make is a canvas that went back to using the delicious polygon Poppies set. First I used a stencil and added texture paste to the background before painting it all over in shades of purple. Next I added stamped and coloured images from the stamp set. The images were coloured using water colour pens.

Hope you have a great day!

IndigoBlu /zuri collaboration launch

 Hello there,

Well there are exciting things happening in the IndigoBlu world with the collaboration with Zuri Moulds. Kay has designed three stamp sets that go with the moulds and these will launch on The Craft store tomorrow at 6pm. Here's a  few samples to whet your appetite.

Thats one sample of each of the sets launching tomorrow along with a new set of luscious powders that I used to paint the bottom sample with! I think there is also going to be some new vivids too - but this time matte ones.
Additionally IndigoBlu shop will now stock three of the Zuril moulds - I was sent the astrolabe to use and these are the samples I made.

Its an amazing thing - the details are fabulous!

The Birds and the Bees

Hello there! I am here with you today with more inspiration from the July shows for Chocolate Baroque. In this first sample I have used the honeybee stamp set to create a ceramic plate. I stamped the images in ink and then painted in glaze before having the paint fired in the kiln.

In this next sampe I have used a piece of patterned paper in the background and to that I have added a simply fussy cut stamped image from the Majestic Crane stamp set. I like the contrast between the background and the white image. I love that sentiment too.

For this final make I used the owl edges stamp set and created a bookmark. I stamped the image on white card and coloured it using mica powders. Another very quick and simple make.

I hope I have given you some inspiration on ways to use your stamp sets.

More monochrome at Countryview Challenges

Hello there - well I am over on the Countryview Challenges blog today with another piece of inspiration for you - the challenge this month is Monochrome - this time I have gone for the blues - using a stamp/die set from Pink Ink.

I love this set - so pretty.... I used die based mica sprays to create the background and combined distress inks, pens and mica powders in colouring the foreground and main image. The shimmer isn't showing up but trust me its there irl.
Hope you have a great day and remember there's still plenty of time to link up to this months challenge.

Candles at Christmas Card Club

 Hello there!

Well its time for another outing of Christmas Card Club and the thme this time is candles - now my mum is a good girl and has followed the theme - but for the second month in a row I have gone for the ever present anything goes option - I have bought a few new stamps and want to use them!

I only had time to make two cards this fortnight - both basically identical using a stamp from Pink Ink Designs...

I created the scene then added the Dachshund and coloured him using watercolour pencils.

As I said above, my mum played the game properly using a memory box die to create these two cards.

Looking forward to seeing what everybody else comes up with! Have a great Sunday!

Floral delights for Chocolate Baroque

  Hello there!

Today I have some makes from the July shows for Chocolate Baroque. In this first one I used the Walk Tall stamp set onto a stencilled background created using inks. I stamped the grasses on in red abd black and added some highlights in a white pen.

Fpr this next card I used the polygon poppies set - I adore this set - it is so beautiful. For this sample I die cut a large hexagon then created then background using inks and a stencil. Then I added the stamping. The colouring was done using watercolour pens.
In this final make I used a stamp from the Flora and Fauna stamp set - I decided to colour the poppies blue and create a tiled effect. I love blue poppies!

I hope that has given you a little inspiration for things you can make with your stamps.

Have a great day!

Two or more patterned papers at Christmas Card Club

 Hello there!

Well its the first of August and thats two posts for me today! Its the fortnightly outing of the Christmas Card Club and this month the theme is two or more patterned papers. I have to confess to being rather clueless with patterned papers - so I chose to go with the anything goes option and use one of the new (to me definitely) stamps from pink ink......

I do like this image - you don't have to use the trailer - thats an optional extra - but I think its lovely...I hope to have time to use this one again this year - its lovely!

Mum was a good girl and actually did as she was supposed to...she has used first edition papers and dies from her stash.

Have a great Sunday!

Monochromatic at Countryview Challenges

 Hello there,

Its the 1st August - this year is just running away - and there is a new challenge on at Countryview Challenges - where the theme is Monochromatic. I decided to used a recent Tracy Evans stamp set and the colour yellow.

It is a lovely stamp set - I also used the A4 aall and create hexagon stencil along with mustard seed distress ink to make up the background to this card. You can find out more about the challenge and link up to it here. Here
Have a great day - and enjoy whatever it is you are doing! Hugs rachel xx
