Challenge 5: LEJ Designs: Ribbons Galore: DT post

Morning all - this is a sceduled post so I'm really hoping Mr Blogger behaves himself and this posts at 8am on Tuesday!!!!

There's another challenge starting today over at lejdesignschallengeblog

and the title for the challenge is 'Ribbons Galore'. Before I show you my card there are a couple of differences you need to note starting from this week - the first is a limit on the number of entries you can make - so its a maximum of three entries please. Secondly, at the end of the month Lyndsay will do a draw to see who wins a digi of their choice for having entered any LEJ Designs challenge so far using an LEJ Designs digi! So if you've got one - why not use it - and if not - go over to the LEJ Designs shop and have a look here - see if there's something there to tickle your fancy and use it this time!

Okay - onto prizes - first out of the hat this week will win three LEJ Designs digis of their choice, and 2nd out of the hat will win this fabulous prize from our sponsor Letraset this week.

Okay - I think that's all of the housekeeping done - now here's the card:

I've used the image from the SuzeJo designs called 'here Kitty' - isn't she just cheeky? I love this image - she's so full of fun and life - such a character. I used some free papers from the latest CMPC magazine and a clarity stamp for 'the best things in life are free' sentiment. The ribbons are from my stash and I coloured the image in using promarkers.

Here's hoping you're having a lovely day and feel inspired enough by my card to pop over and enter yourself!

Happy Tuesday!

A day with Hels

Hello there! Hope  you're all well and happy! I've had a fab day a a workshop with lots of lovely ladies and one chap - run by Hels Sheridan - here's what I made!

This mirror started out as a plain pine coloured one from Ikea ( about a pound!) - I used cut and dry foam to add black paint to the frame then heated it to dry. After it was dry I sanded it then added vintage photo distress ink which I again dried with a heat gun - did a little bit of spritz and sprinkle with water but it didn't show up too well.

The letters were in silver metal paper and black paint was dabbed onto them to age them. The butterflies were from the papillion dies - I used old paper distress stain, victorian velvet distress stain and ink and aged mahogony distress stain and ink to colour the butterflies then added beads with cosmic shimmer glue to make the bodies. The 'dummy' was cut from the sewing room dies - as was the bobbin. I used vintage photo and victorian velvet to colour these and distressed the edges with my scissors. The wings were cut from grunge paper and coloured in the same way. A ribbon was dyed and added to the dummy waist and a flower plus some tim holtz alterations (tassels and a bead on a pin).

The flowers were cut from the tattered florals dies - 3 flowers each and put together in the same way as shown by Hels on her blog (pinkleart.blogspot.com). The leaves were dyed using shabby shutters distress ink and then the flowers and pins applied using a hot glue gun.

I'm sure there's loads of stuff I've missed - but it was a brilliant day - thanks to Redanne - it was great to meet you and of course to Hels for such a fabulous workshop!

neighbourwood spotlight stamping

Evening all! I trust you've had a fabulous Friday? I've had a good one and I'm hoping to have a very crafty Saturday - I'm off to Dawn Bibby's shop for a day class with Hels Sheridan - hopefully I'll get chance to blog what we made tomorrow evening!

Anyway's - I was reading the posts by Lyndsay and Marie about the Neighbourwood offer at Desmet Designs and I thought I'd have a little go with one of the stamps - I also remembered the challenge over there was a red, white and blue one and wanted to make my card to match these colours. Finally - I was inspired by Kathryn over at Mucky Paws by her attempt at spotlight stamping - so wanted to give that a go too! This is what I came up with:

The papers were free from the latest creativity magazine - apart from the one at the back which is papermania colour capsule collection. The stamp is neighbourwood and I've coloured the spotlight area using promarkers. The sentiment is a dawn Bibby one cut down.

I'd like to enter this card into the following challenges:
Spotlight stamping: craftybloggersnetwork
Birthdays:promarkerchallenge Passion for promarkers
A little birdie told me:doyoustackup DYSU 73
Red, white and blue plus sketch at willowsketchiechallengeWillow sketchie
Red white and blue and celebrations at desmetdt
Animals at totallypapercrafts
Anything goes at fatpageswithattitude

Must close there - its been a long day and I think my hubbie needs some company!!!

Speak to you tomorrow - probably!

Summer breeze

wow - its a hot one today - would you believe i still tried to complete my scheduled run - it turned into more of a power walk - then a walk - then an amble! A bit rubbish but it was just too hot!!!!

Still I've got a summery enchanted card to share with you today:

Its an 8x8 inch card and all of the papers came free with the current papercrafts essentials magazine. The stamps are all lavinia stamps and the die I used to cut the butterfly was spellbinders. I've coloured the fairy skin and highlighted her around the edge using promarkers - the dress and hat were done using paper piecing. The sketch is one I followed from over on the docrafts website (current enchanted challenge).

I'd like to enter my card into the following challenges:

sweetstampinchallengeblog: Fairies and angels
A-Z creativity challenge - P is for pink and paper piecing
Tuesday Alchemytuesdayalchemy: Beautiful Butterflies
Enchanted challenge at do crafts
Use diecuts at ilovepromarkers
Happy Birthday at promarkerchallenge: a passion for promarkers.

Hope you're not too hot and manage to get more time to do some crafting in the shade over the rest of the day!

Enjoy yourselves!

For Megan's bump!

Morning All! Well its another gorgeous morning and it was made all the better by a win on the DYSU Landscapes challenge - I was lucky enough to scoop 5 digis - so I'm very excited about that! Can't wait to try and choose!

Anyway - onto today's card - my friend Megan is due to have a baby boy in the not too distant future and so I thought I'd prepare by making a card for her. I've used mostly papers from the forever friends new arrival stack  and the image is LOTV. The flowers, charm and safety pin were from the baby boy flower kit that I got from Duck Pond crafts last month. I love that charm - so cute!
I'd like to enter this card into the following challenges:

glittergeeks: Polka dots
pileitonchallenge: Mix your scales
wojmondaychallengeWhiff of Joy: Use Metal

I'm off to do the shopping now - and I'll be taking my gorgeous Penny with me - she's got to choose a new t-shirt for Rainbows - she's too young to be a Rainbow yet but she's my Rainbow helper and had got lots of badges and nowhere to sew them on to - so we need to remedy that!!!

Hope you have a good day - thanks for dropping by and thanks again if you choose to leave a comment!

Evening all - I know - I know I said I'd be back with something Christmassy - well I'm sorry to disappoint you but hubbie emailed and asked me to make a card for a colleague of his who is very poorly - so that's what I've got to show you this evening:

I've used a hunkydory card blank that I've distressed with forest moss around the edges and added a decoupaged gruffie from Joanna Sheen on top. I've torn then distressed a sentiment - it may be kanban - then inked up some wooden leaves and added them.

Tickets Please - DT Call for Desmet Designs

Morning all - my second post of the day - and I've been for a run - amazing!!!!! First post was scheduled though - I don't have that much time to play with!!! LOL!!!
So onto my card - I've got a male themed card to show you this morning - I've made it for my youngest daughter to give to her daddy on his birthday or father's day - they're only separated by a week - he gets loads of cards - both daughters make one at school and nursery, both daughters make one at nanny's and I make one for each of them to send! Madness - but we're all card making junkies I think!!!

Here it is: as you can see I made an easel card for the challenge over at herecometheboysblogchallenge - I followed the  katherine's sketch from over at the pinkinksketchchallengessketchy challenges. To make the card I used three of my favourite tools - cuttlebug, martha stewart edge punch and distress ink applicator tool. This and the image should make this okay for the challenge over at liliofthevalleythursdaychallengeLili's little fairies. I've used the word dad so that should fit with audsentimentschallengeblog and used all blues to follow with the monochromatic theme over at thatcraftplaceblog. Finally I'd like to link my card up with desmetdtDesmet designs where they have a design call called tickets please. My tickets are along the base and signify the things both daughters associate with their dad!

I hope you like this card - I'm pleased with it!

DT Post for LEJ Designs Challenge: Lots of Layers

Good morning all! Well if all has gone to plan you should be reading this around 8am uk time! The new challenge over at lejdesignschallengeblog has got me very excited - I've used my favourite Digi to make this card (Suzejo - the experiemnt) but before I share I must tell you about the challenge. Its called lots of layers and there will be two randomly chosen winners - the first will win their choice of three images from the lovely Lyndsay at lejdesigns and the second will win a £10 gift voucher for Joanna Sheen's website kindly donated by Vee Cassidy who you can find here.

Now - here's my card - I've made it for my friend and ex colleague Cheryl who is still a chemistry teacher!!!!

It will be for her birthday in September so I've got the pleasure of it sitting around in my craft room until then - a fact I'm very pleased about as I love the image so much!

I made the pop up card using bo bunny papers, the suzejo image which I coloured with promarkers and a bottles stamp from paperartsy. I've also added some goggles at the back hanging from the shelf - they should be on her face - but hey she's excited and we don't have the health and safety issues with paper that we have in a real chemistry lab!!!!

I'd like to enter this card into the following challenges: papermakeupstamps digi challenge where I've taken inspiration from the colours and also the anything goes challenge over at bunnyzoescrafts.

Back with more DT work tomorrow - hope to see you then! Hugs Rachel xx

Aunty Christines card

Afternoon all you lovely crafty people out in blogland - I'm having a good day so far - hope you are too! I want to share with you mymake from the playbarn yesterday - its for my aunty Christine who has a birthday in June - its not what I usually make for her - she's very in to art deco so I usually go down that line - but I wanted to try something different for her!

I followed the sketch from over at fridaysketchchallenge: samantha's sketch and used trimcraft papers. The image is a penny black and I've made the card with the pennybfriendssaturdaychallenge penny black challenge 'in the garden' in mind.  The  image was coloured with promarkers and the sentiment stamp is a whimsy stamp. The ribbon, charm and pins and some of the blooms came from a duck pond craft monthly blooms kit and the fence and leaves came from the Dawn Bibby Designs flower patch collection. I'd also like to enter this card into the May flowers challenge over atlittlemissmuffetchallenges, Flower Power at sweetstampinchallengeblog and butterflies and blooms at fatpageswithattitudefat pages with attitude.

Hope you all have a great remainder of your day!

Frosty the snowman

Evening all! Hope you've had a great Sunday - we've had another busy one - we went to Sizergh Castle for a pcnic lunch - it was absolutely freezing - and then we went off to the local playbarn where my girls love to let off steam - and I get to craft - I'll upload my make tomorrow - but tonight I've got my make for the winter wonderland christmasblogchallenge this week - the theme is Frosty the snowman (a bit like me on my picnic!!!!). I also found out this afternoon when I got back that I'd made last weeks top 3! Yipee!!!!!

My new all over the page punch arrived one day last week from Martha Stewart and I'd been itching to use it - so when this challenge came up I really had to get using it!!!

Additionally I've used a spellbinders die, a lyndsay Mason stamp, promarkers, glitter and bling (from the Ribbon Girl). The bling is for the challenge over at letsinkitup this month!

Hope you like my little card - I think its cute! Those pins will be interesting to post - but I'll figure something out!

Time to zone out in front of the TV I think! Hope you all had a lovely weekend - and thanks for any comments you may leave - I really do appreciate them!

A housemouse Christmas!

Evening all! I trust you've had a lovely day? Its been pretty glorious here - a bike ride, a kid's party, an afternoon in the garden and now time to blog last night's make! What a lucky lady I am!

Yes - its those cheeky house mice - all dressed up as the three wise mice - see no evil, do no evil and hear no evil!!!! Well they asked for a humourous card over at the house mouse challenge this weekhousemouse-challenge (HMFMC119) - and I thought - are there any house mouse images that aren't funny? So I set to work and came up with this decoupage image which made my card fit challenges over at the craftybloggersnetwork  and the rainbowladyschallengeblog. I made my card using a sketch from christmaschallenges christmas cards with sketches and utilised traditional colours which fortunately fit with craftyhazelnutschristmaschallenge.

The papers are a mixture - house mouse, kanban, dawn bibby designs and docrafts. The card is 8x8 in size.

I think that's about everything - except to say happy Saturday night - enjoy yourselves and I'll catch ya'll tomorrow!

Here comes summer!

Evening all! I trust you've has a lovely day? Just wanted to thank you for all the lovely comments you leave - they are all really appreciated!

Well I didn't have to run gardening club at school today - so I got some extra crafting time - hence tonights post!

The stamp is from Sugar Nellie - isn't it gorgeous? I've coloured it with promarkers and cut it out using a spellbinders die then distressed the edges with teadye distress ink. I''ve used the same around the 8x8 inch card border. This was for the challenge over at craftyourpassionchallenges CYPC this time. The papers are both Tim Holtz and I've followed Kiki's sketch from the challenge at the sugarbowlblog. The colour scheme is for Hels! (pinkleartsunday-stamper-week-204-dont-it-make-my.html). And I've added shells because it seemed like the righ thing to do. The flower, hatpins and charm all came about to reflect the sketch and also the challenge over at ilovepromarkersl this week. I'd also like to enter this card for the one for the boys challenge over at divasbydesignchallenge this week.

Happy Friday Night!

Butterflies, candy and a GDT spot

Morning all! Hope you're all feeling fit and well? I'm good - I took the car in to get MOT'd this morning and had to run the 4 and 1/2 miles back home - but I made it! Yipee!!!!!

Now before I share my post for today with you I'd like to tell you about my good friend Kaz's candy - donemark - she's looking to get 100 followers and is offering a candy package as an incentive to get a few people over there - go and have a look - I'm sure you'll not regret it - she makes some gorgeous cards!

Also some of you may know that I'm GDT for dudetimedoodles this month - and over at their site there is the opportunity of a freebie image to use to try and win the GDT spot for June - why not give it a go! I've really enjoyed the experience so far - and I'm sure you would too!

Now then onto my post - something a little different - but very frilly and fancy:

I've made this card with the fussyandfancychallenge in mind that is butterflies, ribbons and punches but wanted to use my new Tilda stamp too so I've linked it with the bingo challenge over at officialmagnoliainspirationchallengeTOMIC this week (embossing, shaped card, butterflies). The papers I've used are meadowlark from prima and I've coloured my image with some promarkers. I'd also like to enter this card into the challenge over at guylousinimitabilityGuylou's which is punches, dies and diamonds this time and also magnolia-liciouschallengeblog which is a colour challenge this time (pink, green and yellow/ecru).Finally with my flowers added it would be rude not to enter this in thedoyoustackup DYSU challenge: use a flower!

Hope you all have a good Friday!

Don't look mum!

Evening all! Phew that was a lovely evening with my rainbows but now I need to chill out and upload this second post of the day. Its for my mums birthday - I've told her not to look at my blog - we'll have to see if she can manage it!

Its obviously a saturated canary digi - I saw it first on Wendy's blog (papersniffer) and just fell in love with this image - and I just know my mums going to love her to bits - she's a proper sea and beach baby!

Okay so I've coloured the digi with promarkers and cut her out adding glitter to her tail. I've mounted her onto card that has been layered ontop of more card. Underneath this layer is gold ribbon with a green centre and finally some scrapbooking paper from my stash. I've made seaweed with a glue pen, glitter and beads, stamped and cut out a crab on glitter paper, added a bow and used gems to form bubbles. I used the basic sketch from the Totally Gorjuss challenge site.

I'd like to enter my mermaid into the following challenges:
totallygorjuss Sketch Challenge
pileitonchallenge Fairytale, Fantasy and daydream
karensdoodleschallengeblog Something for mom
craftysentiments mother's day card (not mother's day in uk - but it is for my mum - don't know if that counts!!!)

Another day tomorrow - hope you all have a good one!

A Beary special card

Morning all! Well I had a lovely day yesterday - I found out that the scarecrow that my girls made at Rainbows won a prize in the Wray scarecrow festival - so I'm very excited to tell them all about it this evening! And then I opened up the new CMPC magazine and there was a lovely letter in there about me from my mum - and a crazy picture of me and my cuttlebug in an article about what crafting item you couldn't live without. And then - I tuned into blogland and found I've won a couple of saturated canary digis from a passion for promarkers! So all in all it was a very lucky day!

Today's been good too - but onto my post for now!

I've coloured my teddy bea image in with promarkers but kept her fairly plain beacause I wanted her to gowith a white on white card. I've added glitter to her wings, wand and hat bobble. I've followed a sketch from the sketch and stash challenge ( my neglected stash is my DB designs flower). The embossing folder I used was a cuttlebug one and the punch I've used is martha stewart.
I'd like to enter this card into the following challenges:
 ready-teddy-gochallenge Bingo: Buttons, Glitter, embossing
sketchandstashchallenge Sketch and stash Andies sketch

Happy scrapping!

Hello there - well its time for post number 2 for today - I don't know whether its a good idea - but my girls are now creating with their play dough in the dining room - I wish I hadn't cleaned up there already today!!!! Bless them though - Gramps's cards are already made and they still want to create!

This is a scrapbook page of my good friend Danielle and her daughter Daisy - the photo was taken in February when Daisy was only 12 days old - we were at the christening of another baby Joseph who had been born in October!

I've used the layout from the thesecretcraftersaturdaychallenge - I'm not sure if I can enter a scrapbook page but I will if I can! I'd also like to enter it into the rainbowladyschallengeblog where the topic this week is memories and the first challenge over at scrapbooking only site  thehappyscrapperschallenges where anything goes this month! If I'm able to I'll also enter it into Girly Girl at jellyparkchallenges and Girly Girls at thecraftypad.

Feeling Blue?

Hello there all of my crafty friends - I've got that Friday feeling today - but I do have a blue card to share with you - hence the title of this post! Its a pretty girly one - so I hope you'll like it!

The image has been stamped then coloured using promarkers and glitter added after the colouring was complete. The image is, of course LOTV, and the papers are a combinations of of stash materials and prima meadowlark. I've used a cuttlebug embossing folder to create texture on the RHS and the ribbons and blooms all come from the ribbon and bloom kit from duck pond crafts this month (thanks karen!!!!). Finally I've used a spellbinders fleur de lys rectangle to cut out the image and pins and pearls/gems to add extra highlights.

Hope you like this cheeky card as much as I do and that if you are feeling blue, its put a smile back on your face!!!

I'm entering this into the following challenges:
Cutie pie challenge Blog: Monochromatic cutiepiechallenge
Divas: Monochromatic divasbydesignchallenge
Passion for promarkers: Bright and Light promarkerchallenge
I love promarkers: Fairies ilovepromarkers.blogspot.co.uk

Simon says stamp with pins and pearls.

Hope you all have a wonderful Friday!

Hugs
