Christmas Card Club - shine a light.

Good morning lovelies - this is my first of two posts today - over at the Christmas Card Club the theme is Christmas lights. I found I had 3 stamps with candles/lamps on them and couldn't choose between them - so I decided to use all three in three separate cards all made using the same technique.

In each card I stamped the image and then masked it off - then masked off most of the card except for a strip - then coloured up the strip using distress inks and a TH layering stencil - I tried to create the effect of the light coming from the candles or the lantern. I think it works quite well and was pleased with these! Unfortunately the final card got inky fingers on it - so I had to add the greeting in a layer to hide it - lol!!!! The first stamp is from penny black and the other two are LOTV.

I'd like to enter these cards into the following challenges:

C.R.A.F.Ttrimmiescraftchallenge: Christmas

Thanks so much for dropping by today - I've got another post at 3pm if you're brave enough for another visit! Big Hugs to you and hope you have a great Sunday!

SALS 51: A new sketch for seems a little sketchy

Hello there lovelies - I hope you are okay and not too battered by the weather. Hasn't it been awful? We're still hoping to go out today with friends but we may just have to change plans on where we go!

So there's a new sketch over at seemsalittlesketchy - its sketch 51 and we're sponsored by bugaboo and QKR stampede. Here's my card -

and here's the sketch you need to follow to be part of the challenge.

I've used an image from QKR stampede and made a birthday card for my BIL whose birthday is in December. The papers are from LOTV and the little stetson hat charm was in my stash - its a totally different card for Jaz this year - not sure what he'll make of it - but I like it!!!!

SALS 47:Back to school

Good morning! Bright and early today - I should be out running when this post goes live - but we'll see if my little leggies can cope when it comes to morning!!

Now I had hoped to have some holiday snaps to show you today but I'm afraid my computer isn't playing ball at the moment - its not loading up piccies so I'm trying to stay cool and calm and not thinking too hard about the longer term implications of this - however, if it doesn't work soon I'm going to be in trouble!

Over at SALS this fortnight we have a lovely new sketch for you to try out - we're sponsored by Robins Nest. Check out the main site here for details of this fortnights prize.

Here's the sketch

Here's what I did

I coloured the image with promarkers and used papers from LOTV and some from my stash. The back to school was stamped with individual letter stamps from Claritystamps.

CCAYR: September - Christmas Fairies

Evening all! Hope you've had a great day! I've been busy washing and food shopping but I did manage to get a run in this morning - boy did I know about having had a week off! Lol!!!!

There's a new challenge starting today at christmascardsallyearroundCCAYR. The theme for September is Christmas fairies. Here's what I did:

I used the mask from ,that special touch, to draw with - I wanted icicles from my white glitter paper and using the mask thats what I got - although I think if I'd done them freehand it wouldn't have been much different!!!! The image is, of course, from Mo Manning and has been coloured by promarkers and I've glitterised! The image has been cut with a spellbinders die and then distressed whilst still in place in the die. The sentiment is LOTV.

I'd like to enter my card for the following challenges:

Christmas in August for Creative Inspirations

Hello there, how are you? I'm feeling good and ready for another day. Lucy and Penny are off to Mad Science again today so I'm looking forward to a bit of peace and time to do stuff! I'm running with my friend Sue again today so I'm looking forward to that.

Over at Creative Inspirations (cinspirations) the challenge this week is Christmas In August! We would like to see Christmas creations only!

This week's prize is from us and is the chance to be our GUEST DESIGNER FOR SEPTEMBER!

Here's what I did - I used stamps from LOTV to make this card.

First I made a background - I stamped snowflakes with versamark and used white and blue embossing powders on them. Then used DI and dylusion sprays to make up the remaining background. I used a script stamp to make up the next layer and finally had painty fun with some Distress paints and once dry I stamped the deer onto here. The ribbon is from Creative Expressions and the snowflakes are crafty emblies painted blue with Distress paints. I've added some beadazzles to the centre of these.
I'd like to enter this card into the following challenges:

LOTV August challenge:ideastoinspire Make it festive
LEJ:lejdesignschallengeblog Nature Inspired
Fashionistafashionistachallenge: Christmas in August
CHN extra challengecraftyhazelnutschristmaschallenge2.: AG
PIO:pileitonchallenge No designer paper
LLFliliofthevalleythursdaychallenge: Vintage/shabby Chic

Thanks for dropping by and for any comments you choose to leave - I love to read them all! Big Hugs and hope to see you again soon!
