Tims tag October 2013, a housemouse card and a commenters candy

Hello there - how are you? I hope you are well and happy. I'm feeling better today and thanks for your kind comments yesterday - they always make me feel happy!

So first off today I've got my version of Tims tag Oct 2013 to share with you. Here's the masters tag:

DSC06998

you can find his post about how he made this here.

Here's what I did:

for once I am very happy with this tag - I loved especially creating the background and think the distress paint colours I used worked well (mowed lawn, spiced marmalade, dusty concord, antique linen). I love the drippy effect I managed to achieve. The writing in the background and the skeleton are apothecary remnant rubs and the web and sentiment came from a stamp and cut set that I found fabulously easy to use - the distress glitter on the web and spider is also fabulous - it is different from other glitters - give it a try if you haven't used it! I'd like to enter this into the tims tag challenge.

Onto my next item - a card made from the housemouse triple CD - I'm not a CD crafter but they do come in handy at times:

The images and sentiment came straight from the CD as did the backing paper - I've just added the ribbon and leaves. I'd like to enter this into the housemouse-challenge : pumpkin.

Finally I have a commenters candy to offer you - all you need to do is leave a comment here and be a follower - I don't want you to advertise in your sidebar - I'd rather this went to somebody who drops by here regularly but obviously any followers who leave a comment will be eligible. I will post worldwide.

There's papers, wooden shapes, ribbon, stamps, tatty teddy toppers and an embossing folder.

Looking forward to hearing from you but if you don't wanted to be included in the draw let me know - I will draw the name of a winner on 23rd October.

Big Hugs

for a friend

Morning lovelies - I hope you are well and if not here's a hug xx

It was strange with the girls being at school yesterday but I managed to fill the day up - lol!!!! I had a 71/2 mile run that took far too long. I guess I'll manage the great north this year but I won't be going for any personal bests.

I've got a plaque to show you today that I made for my friend Megan's birthday - its not until the 13th but she doesn't look at my blog so I know I'm safe.

The plaque came from a win over at 'a heck of a challenge' who are sponsored by everycraftsapound - well I found all sorts of goodies to alter in their shop and would recommend you having a look a it.

I've worked on lots of layers with this plaque. I made the background in a number of steps - first I used distress paints smooshed onto my craft mat and then onto my plaque. This formed the background. After drying I added patches of distress ink - seedless preserves and broken china. Then I used a script stamp from papermania and stamped it around the edges in seedless preserves DI. Next came the layer of sparkle medium - I used the colour amethyst that you can get here from imaginationcrafts. The stencil I used is one from 'That special touch'. I tried to mirror both sides because of the sentiment  so used the stencil first one way and then flipped it over (after cleaning) ad used it the other way. Whilst this was drying  I made the sentiment. I used distress ink on Neenah card - seedless preserves and broken china again smooshed it around until blended. Then I stamped the LOTV sentiment on top in versafine ink. I die cut the circle and then added the gems and added it to the piece. I'm really pleased with this one and I hope Megan likes it! The butterfly stamp is one of my faves from an old craft stamper magazine that went missing on my desk for a few months and turned up just when needed!

I'd like to enter this into the following challenges:

SFTW:stampinfortheweekend Summer colours
Delicious doodlesdeliciousdoodleschallenge: Anything floral
allsortsallsortschallenge: all in the sentiment
sunday stamperpinkleart: friends

Tims Tags June 2013 and a WOW workshop

Hello there! Well I got around to making my Tims tag for June and finally there came a month where I had most things I needed! I don't have many distress markers yet but I managaed to choose an image that allowed me to utilise the few I have got. I really enjoyed using them too so will definitely be getting more.

Here's tims tag:junetag

And here's mine:

the photographs don't show up the green too well - but its definitely there! I really enjoyed following the steps on this one and finally got to try out my distress paints - I used bundled sage and forest moss in distress paints and victorian velvet in distress stain swooshing them al together on the background. The pear image was stamped using archival ink on water colour card and I used ditress markers to colour the pear along with a water brush - again I used victorian velvet and also shabby shutters. I've also used the rubs from last month on the back of the tag and squidgey pins from the lovely kath to add the details of the cogs to the base of the tag. After tearing the base of the water colour card I also used cut and dry foam and tea dye distress ink to colour in the edges.

I'd like to enter this tag into the challenges Tims tags 2013june
and also the sunday stamper -pinkleart male.

Yesterday I also did a workshop with my ladies from the church - we did a WOW card this time - they enjoyed the embossing and diecutting - here's the card that they were trying to do.

Unfortunately I forgot my camera and although I took some pictures on my phone they don't look brilliant so I've not uploaded them here! I think the ladies had fun though and some followed the design whilst others did their own thing! I took lots of different dies along so they had choices!!

Thats all for today and thanks for your feedback - I do appreciate it! Big Crafty hugs!
