Good morning and a happy Mothers day to all of you mummies out there - my girlies gave me some flowers, wine and chocolates last night - the flowers survived to see the light of day!!!! They had both made beautiful cards at school too - I shall blog them later as they're wonderful - Lucy even wrote me a little poem too - hope you've been spoiled if you are a mummy!!!
Well today sees my first GDT for Craft-a -scene. I confess - this really took me out of my comfort zone - especially when I first got the challenge title - which is tropical shores - I knew I didn't have any appropriate stamps and I hadn't seen any either. Anyway - I eventually found some by Hobby Art and the first of the cards I made I'm showing this week - if you look over here - you'll get the full challenge details - and maybe see a funny picture of me and hubby that I submitted for the challenge site info on me!!!
Here's my card:
This is a one layer card - I masked off the sun and the bottom and top - then used distress inks - I think is was barn door and wild honey -i applied them in strokes using cut and dry foam. afterwards I used chipped sapphire to do the sea. I removed all masks and then sponged some wild honey onto the sun to soften the glare of the white - then stamped the Hobby Art stamp with espresso adirondack. Finally, the Sheena 'Joy' stamp was added in pitchblack at the bottom. I'm quite pleased with the result - but what do you think?
I'd like to enter this card into the following challenges:
tuesdayalchemy: Rainbow travel
I do hope you have a wonderful day today and that if you're a mum you get spoiled rotten!!!
Thanks for dropping by! See you later!
Big Hugs
Rachel xx
