A spooky tag and another technique card

Well hello lovelies - how are you today? I'm good and feeling much better than yesterday when there was a powercut in the night - so no cuppa first thing and no warm milk for my kiddies before school! I hope I remain feeling good after my weigh in later - if I've lost I can have a glass of vino tonight - which may very well be needed since my big girl is going away for her first ever Brownie camp for two nights ----- boo hoo ---- don't worry I know she'll have sooooooo much fun!!!!

So onto today - I've got two makes to share with you - the first was made with My Creative Corner and Country View Crafts in mind. Its a tag using lots of different TH stuff - I had lots of fun doing this:

I started by making the background - I used punice stone and black soot distress inks and smooshed over to cover the tag. Then I applied purple radiant rain using a sponge and did some spritzing and flicking. Next I stamped the cobwebs with versamark and added black embossing powder and heat set then added the black texture paste using an Imagination crafts stencil. I added in the TH Remnant rubs and then stamped the chemist and bottles images, coloured with promarkers and fussy cut before adding them to the piece. Finally I painted the numbers with Distress paints and added them using their brads. Also added the ribbon.

I'd like to enter this into the following challenges:

Our Creative Corner: ourcreativecorner6Halloween tag with surface texture
Country View Crafts:countryviewchallenges Something Spooky
FSCfashionablestampingchallenges: Use a mask/stencil
LEJ:lejdesignschallengeblog Dark or gothic
PCJpaper-craftingjourney: Halloween colours

Next I want to show you another Sheena technique card - this one is bursting with techniques - but my favourite was making the coin - I melted clear UTEE in the melting pot and added some chunky gold WOW powders, stirred and poured onto a craft sheet. My coin stamp was mounted onto a flat block and I inked it up with black stazon and pressed this into the UTEE. After about 30s to 1 minute I removed the stamp and cut the excess away to reveal the coin embellishment - I think more of this sort of thing will be heading your way shortly!!!!

Have a great Friday! Thanks for dropping by and I hope to see you again soon!

Big Hugs

Rachel xx

p.s. before I go here's a little news about a fabulous sale - check it out!

  1. These are fabulous Rachel. The detailing on your tag looks wonderful and your card is gorgeous.
I am sure Lucy will have a fabulous time with the Brownies. I remember the first time my girls went away with the Brownies they seemed so small and I was worried they would be homesick but they absolutely loved it.
I hope you have a good day

  2. Morning Rachel,

Like them both, the tag is so very inspirational and the second so calming and nice how you have used the coin to carry the Oriental feel from the blossoms.
