Good Morning all! I'm so excited today - my two little pixies are going to be in their first ballet show today - they've got the first performance at 2.30 this afternoon and the second at 7.30 this evening - I think they will be totally shattered come the end of the day! I'll take a wee piccie of them when they get dressed in their costumes and post it tomorrow!
So - yesterday I ventured over to Mo Mannings digi shop - oh my word - what a fantastic selection she has over there - I had to buy three - one of which I want to share with you today.
Isn't he just adorable? I'm having a few problems with my paper at the moment - whatever I seem to print my digis onto seems to either run when I colour in or react with my silicone glue when I stick cut out images on - so I think I need to invest in something new - any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. My little elf looks rather mucky because of this - but I will change him later!
I have used martha stewart over the page snowflake punch. acetate, WOC flowers, promarkers, a crafty pad sentiment ticket and an 8x8 inch scalloped card blank.
I'd like to enter my cheeky little elf into the following challenges:
Christmas challenges with sketcheschristmaschallenges: sketch 31
Winter wonderlandchristmasblogchallenge:WOW
Whoopsi Daisycutedaisymay: WOW

Morning Rachel. Gorgeous card love the image and the layout is fantastic. I'm having the same problem with my printer at the minute, could be the weather (I'm blaming everything at the minute on the weather) I'm leaving my images to dry for at least 24 hours seems to do the trick. Good luck for the ballet performances. Have a great weekend. Hugs. Caroline xxx
ReplyDeletethanks for that caroline - I have been batch printing images so they've usually had a good amount of time -around 24 hours to dry - I know this one didn't - I was too anxious to colour him in!!!Have a great weekend xx

ReplyDeleteHi Rachel, this is gorgeous - I love Mo Manning's images. I always used to print onto Neenah from Crafter's Companion but I have recently discovered Joanna Sheen's Elegance Satin (ice white) and it is brilliant. I do always print in advance though and let it dry thoroughly before I colour no matter what I use. Hope this helps.
ReplyDeleteI hope both you and the girls enjoy their performances.

P.S. Thank you for joining us at Whoopsi Daisy this week.
Brillaint card Ginny ♥
ReplyDeleteHi Rachel, well your little pixies will be dancing away as I write this, hope they enjoy themselves at both performances. I love this digi, it is adorable, as you say. I am the same as the ladies above, I leave it for 24 hours before colouring, but I also print on the heaviest card possible, that does seem to help too. Joanna's card, above, is excellent. Crafty hugs, Anne x
ReplyDeletePS- I won the PB challenge for my big metal flower - I am so thrilled!!

ReplyDeleteWhat a proud mummy you will be today watching your own little pixies dancing how fabulous Hugs Elaine
What a beautiful card! All the layers and textures are just lovely. Thanks for playing with us at PCD, good luck in the challenge! ♥ Denise
ReplyDeleteRachel this is just stunning! I love this image. I have bought several downloads from Mo Manning and I always print mine out on 'Fast Draft' which still gives a perfect image but the printer lays down less ink. I got this tip from Nikki Hall (polkadoodles) it's never failed yet.

Hi Rachel...oooh...I'm so excited about your dance recitals! We have a couple of ballerinas amongst our 6 grandkiddos! Such fun!! Hope everything goes well! I see what you mean about your coloring looking smudged a bit. I had the same problem when printing digi images and then coloring w/Copics. Here's what I do now...and it works beautifully! When I go to print my image(s), I always click on "Printer Properties" and tell my computer that I'm printing on GLOSSY paper. This way the printer lays down much less ink. Then I let it dry for 24 hours or I set it with a heat gun. Voila! No more smearing! Hope that helps. Also...I stopped using glue on my cards...I generally use Sookwang tape...it rocks! Hope that helps! Oh...and I love your card, by the way! Such a festive Christmas card!! Love all the white...and embellies!! So glad you've joined us for this week's fun challenge at Mo's! Hugs. Pat Frank
ReplyDeleteHi Rachel, hope the girls ballet recital went well for you all and you had a fab time! With reference to the digi printing I don't do much crafting on the computer partly because of the amount of stamps I've got! However when I do print something that I want to colour in I do one of the following:
ReplyDeletewhen you go into the print menu choose printer properties and click 'fast draft' - uses lot less ink! or I do it in best and put embossing powder on it immediately it comes out of the printer whilst the ink is still wet - then heat emboss! Hope this helps hun! Gorgeous card, super cute image hugs Karen x
Your card is beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI love the digi!!
Thanks for joining us at CCWS!
Hugs, Wilma
Beautiful card. All the silver details make it look so elegant. Fabulous job. Thanks for playing at WhoopsiDaisy. Hugs...Mona
ReplyDeleteHope the performances went well. Gorgeous textures on this card. I use Diamond White card for The Papetrie for stamping and digis. The 250 gsm goes through the printer well. Thanks for playing at WW.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful white on white card Rachel. Loving the image too. Thank you for joining us this time over at Cards Galore.
