a wonderful day - and some village scenes.

Hello Lovelies! Well it was a wonderful day for me yesterday - I got to see lots of you lovely blog buddies (JoAnne, Mo and linda), spent a fortune on crafty goodies and had a tea with my dad who was 81! What a wonderful day!!! Pictures soon - first here's my makes for Christmas Card Club - the lovely Rita chose a wonderful theme - a village scene!!! Thanks Rita - loved doing this one!

This first one used a set of sheena stamps from the old days when she was with creative expressions. I've used masks and coloured with spectrum noir pencils.

This is another sheena stamp, coloured with spectrum noir pencils and mounted onto a piece of black card run through an embossing folder (also figgy lane), then had gilding wax rubbed over it.

Finally this is a creata card die I used from Crafters Companion.

So back to yesterday - Port Sunlight was wonderful as ever - think I might take the train next time though - I found the drive very stressful! Here's some of the goodies that slipped into my shopping basket :

woohoo - a bumper visit to paperartsy - loved watching sue carringtom demo - awesome!!!

Goodies from Indigo Blu, visible image and stamps away. Had a good chat to Mark from Visible image - what a nice man! And Kay's hair from Indigo Blu looked amazing - I thought she was somebody else entirely.

Goodies from Crafty Individuals and Lavinia! OMG when am I going to get the time to use all this new stuff??? Lol!!!! Very naughty but much fun!!!!

And then it was off to my mum and dads for tea:

Happy Birthday to my lovely dad - 81 yesterday! Bless him!!

Thats all for today!! Have a good one!

Hugs rachel x

Glad you had a fabulous day and enjoyed some time with the 'birthday boy' - 81 years young - and fitted in some retail therapy too with friends, sounds good to me.

  19. Happy Birthday to your sweet Dad! So pleased you got to enjoy the day with your folks. And enjoy some fun craft shopping with like-minded friends. That always makes it better, doesn't it? Loved all your village scenes. #1 & #2 made me think of the Dickens of my imagination when I read about the British cities. So very pretty & such nice colors. Liked the background matting as well. #3 was equally lovely, and I liked the scene, with the shadings you've done on the different elements. Well done on 3 cards that met Rita's theme. TFS & Hugs

  25. So sorry I'm late in commenting. My Internet problems are consuming my life at the moment. To cap it all my iPad crashed this morning and took my IT specialist a talk through on the phone to get it working again. It's enough to drive you to drink. In fact sitting in the garden right now with a Pinot Grigio Blush. Very nice it is too. Anyway I digress. Both your cards are perfect for the challenge. I love her stamps. Always so much detail in them. What a bundle of goodies you have bought. Might be round for a play later!! Hugs Mrs A.
