Today I want to show you what I was doing with Anne and Mo on Friday - an ATB - I had first seen these on Anne's blog here and I really wanted to have a go. I've used another set of diecuts to make a set of blocks for the Compendium of Curiosities Vol III challenge 1 - the theme this first fortnight is marbling - the technique is on page 43 of the book and is great fun to do. This challenge is run by Linda Ledbetter and the prizes are amazing. Tim and Mario have donated prizes (thanks guys) and there's also a $50 voucher prize for the inspiration emporium.
First then the ATB I did on Friday - I used mostly stains and inks to create a masterboard that I then cut up and used to stamp TH (Nature walk) images on.
The smaller ones on the left were hurridly finished off last night - not very well! The larger ones I did at Mo's - I love them - and can see them becoming a firm favourite. They are made using dies from Eileen Hull at Sizzix. The largest box is on one die and the three smaller ones are on another die.
So the extra set I used to make this tower that I want to enter into the CC3 challenge - the masterboard this time was made up using the marbling technique from the book and the stamps I used were from the Mariposa set and also the words were from the random quotes set.
I love this set of stamps and I love the technique. The distress paints I used were mowed lawn, bundled sage, broken china and forest moss.
So the challenges I would like to enter my tower of ATB's into is:
CC3 Challengecc3c01: Marbling
Allsortsallsortschallenge: Butterflies
Totally Gorjuss:totallygorjuss Things with wings
Sunday stamper pinkleart- life
thats craftythatscraftychallenges: spring is in the air
CVCcountryviewchallenges: Natures Glories
Artistic stamper:theartisticstampercreativeteam In the garden
We had a great day yesterday - me and my girls walked to Wray for the annual fair - it was a nice walk and we had fun:
fairground rides
donkey rides
motorbiking
Thats all for today - thanks for dropping by and I hope you enjoyed you visit - thanks so much to Anne for bringing the ATB's to my attention and also to Mo for hosting our fabby craft day!
Big hugs
Rachel xx
