Well I was so chuffed yesterday - I won some lovely stamps (this months club set) from Little Claire - for my mum. I already have my own set and now my lovely mum has hers! Thanks so much to Little Claire for running the competition and picking my comment! It means a lot! Talking of my mum - I think we're back to having a crafternoon today - we're working through sheenas India DVD - looking forward to it mum - I'll see you after swimming! And if you're here for a nosy Jacqui - happy birthday!
Talking of the sheena india stamps - I've been having another play - this is what I've made for the challenge at Crafters Companion this month where the theme is masculine - I know its pink ..... but I think Nigel May would love it so its masculine to me!
Lets start with the background - I made this one up using distress stains and ink and water - initially stains applied to my craft sheet and water flicked on then the card swooshed through. After drying I did a bit of spritz and flick then dried again and added the distress inks to cover any white.
Next I cut a piece of the card to size and added to the elephants embossing folder. I ran it through my grand calibur then swiped a black staz on pad over the top to bring out the detail. Next I did the mat and the sentiment stamping in versamark and adding gold detail powder then heat embossing.
Finally I coloured the elephant with my spectrum noirs and fussy cut. I'm very pleased with this one - hope you like it too!
I'd like to enter this into the following challenges:

ReplyDeleteWow awesome card, really bright and unique and I love the background. Hope you had a nice craftynoon with your mum. My mum doesn't craft, she also had me late in life and is now 78 so can't do much. I really wish I could have a craftnoon with someone. The only people I know who craft are online. So if your ever this way and have time pop in lol :-) Kezzy xxx
ReplyDeleteGorgeous project Rachel, your mum is lucky to have craft afternoons with you, my girls craft, i.e. Big one does cross stitch, painting and other bits, younger one is a baker so we don't have a craft we do together, but I suppose they have picked out the crafts they loved doing with me when they were younger, son is a baker and take the most amazing photographs - that's from his Dad and Grandad. Hazel x. So I shouldn't complain.
