cold hands warm heart

I just love that saying - it always reminds me of my mum and dad - they always say it - and I've adopted it as my hands are always freezing!!!!

Sorry - that's a rather odd way to start a post - good morning to you all! I hope you are well - welcome followers old and new - its always nice to have you drop by to my little corner of blogland. Well today I've got something to share with you that was mainly inspired by three challenges - those at the Sunday stamper which is run by the fabulous Hels Sheridan - this one requires blue this week - also the Splodgeaway challenge that required blue and silver and visible image that needed sparkle. This is what I've made:

Sorry for the quality of the close up - it sort of shows the idea of the textures I've tried to get in there so I left it in. The snowflake stamp is the freebie on this months craft stamper. I used weathered wood distress stain on a plain inkylicious tag, dried it then using a splodgeaway mat and cut and dry foam, added DI broken  china and faded jeans - dried - then around the edges used DI stormy sky. Then I flicked water onto the tag and blotted with kitchen roll to get the splodgey effect. After drying I stamped in versa mark then added sparkling silver wow powder and heat set - then I added distress stickles and rubbed some coarse glitter/beads (beadazzlers or something its called!) into the glue. Finally I added the metal snowflakes and the ribbon, charm and mesh with sentiment (that's LOTV grunge sentiments). OOO I did have fun making this - and got myself proper messy - it was fun!!!!

I'd like to enter my wintery tag into the following challenges:

Sunday Stamperspinkleart.blogspot: Blue
splodgeaway: Blue and silver
visibleimage: Sparkle
Ribbon Girlribbongirls: Add sparkle
PIOpileitonchallenge: make it sparkle
Paperplaypaperplaychallenges: Snowflakes
charismacardz: Feeling Blue

Thanks so much for looking - back with something a bit more conventional tomorrow! Have a fabby Friday!

Hugs

Rachel xx
