I think these are flowers!

Good morning to my lovely bloggy friends and followers! I'm scheduling this post because its a bit easier that way - on Saturday morning when this goes live I'll be on my way to my first session of 'Boot Camp' - its a diet and fitness thing that I'll be doing on weekend mornings for the next 4 weeks. I'll let you know how it went tomorrow - I'm not entirely sure what to expect but its all outdoors and I'm expecting to be told to do running and press ups and stuff - quite strongly!!!! Now I don't usually need any encouragement to exercise but recently (could it be blogging?) I seem to have problems losing any weight gained. And now its creeping up again so this is my attempt at shifting a few lbs! Carrying the extra lbs doesn't make the exercise any easier and my knees have been feeling it when I've been on my normal running sessions. Hopefully that will soon be a thing of the past!!!

Onto todays post - I wanted to do the sunday stampers 'stamped flowers' challenge but when I looked in my stamp collection there appears to be a derth of floral images - anyway I found my trusty Penny black 'alium' stamp - they're flowers aren't they? From the onion family I think - anyway - with lots of playing with distress inks and flicking of water this is what I came up with. I used antique linen distress stain as a base coat, flicked and dried, patches of scattered straw DI, flicked and dried, pateches of wild honey DI, flicked and dried, edges with spiced marmalade and a little barn door DI.

I've made this card for a cardswap on the Joanna sheen forum that I'm part of - I'm pleased with it - I just hope the recipient is! Most of the embellies are from crafty-emblies whom I can't seem to get enough of - check them out here - they're fab!
I've also added some liquid pearls in the bottom left and top right hand corner. The backing paper is from the hunkydory autumnal range.

I would like to enter my card into the following challenges:

The sunday stampershttp://pinkleart.blogspot.co.uk/2012/09/sunday-stamper-week-221-tulips-from.html: stamped flowers
CYPCcraftyourpassionchallenges: floral images
Songbirdsongbirdchallenges: String of Pearls
Charismacharismacardz: seeing double (2 flowers, 2 leaves)
Fab and funkyfabnfunkychallenges: autumnal colours
The paper shelterthepapershelter: tag your it
Paper playpaperplaychallenges: autumnal tags
Ribbon girlribbongirls: just add pearls.

Before I sign off just to let you know that Penny had a fabulous first day - this is her with her big sister Lucy before they went to school on Friday morning.

Have a wonderful weekend!

Hugs

Rachel xx

  18. It's gorgeous Rachel - they're called Alliums and are one of my favourite flowers! They are like a load of little stars exploding from the stem! Good luck with the boot camp hun, just thinking about it makes my aches and pains hurt more - mind you that could be because of being out and about on Friday! They are a very pretty pair your two, and I predict will be heart breakers when older, och you poor thing you have that to look forward to!
If you want to see the flowers in real life go here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Allium
