Happy Troll mini book

Good Morning to all my lovely blogging friends and followers - I'm scheduling this post on Thursday night but its due to come out on Friday morning amidst the bedlam that will be the first day of school for my little Penny. Sniff sniff - wipes away a tear - on with the post.

Over at the scrapbookstampsociety there are changes afoot - and one of the changes is going to be a greater emphasis on challenges. Today there is a challenge starting that runs for a fortnight based on journalling. Now I've been inspired by one or two people and have been thinking about having a dabble - but I didn't have a proper journal to start off with - so mine is a sort of mini - book - that will be for happy thoughts!!!

The image I've used is called Happy Troll and he's by artist Heather Valentin. You can get him here. My mini book cover has been made using a combination of distress stains, distress inks and radiant rain sprays - plus mini stamps from Lavinia. I've added Happy troll to the cover and hand written the title - I think I will type the title and add it again in print - but unfortunately time has run away with me!

I'd like to enter my happy troll into the following challenges:

Bearly Minebearlymine-challenges: Anything but a card
Anything but a cardanythingbutacard: anything goes
totally stampalicioustotallystampalicious: anything but a card
Tuesday Alchemytuesdayalchemy: Anything goes
Papertake weeklypapertakeweekly: anything goes

So why not pop over to the scrapbook stamp society challenge site here and see what you think - its going to be a fun challenge!

Hugs

Rachel xx

  5. Hi Rachel, oh such a sad day for you, but Penny will probably have the time of her life, you can take heart in that. They grow up so fast.... Love the troll, he really is a cute character and well done for doing it in a ring binder style because you can take your pages out and do them separately and then the colours will not migrate into each other - as I know from experience! Try to enjoy your day.....Crafty hugs, Anne x

  12. Rachel it's gorgeous! Do not type, print and glue 'Happy Troll Book'. I don't like my handwriting and I guess that is why you want to re-do this. It will mean a lot more to your girls in the future if they see your writing on it. Hope today wasn't too painful for you and I bet Penny had a fantastic day! Sending loads of hugs down the internet to you hun Karne xx

  16. Your little journal is a wonderful momento and please leave it just as it is! I love seeing my Mum's handwriting on things as it brings her closer to me now she's gone. I do hope your little one had fun on her first day at school and that you survived the separation!
