Dragonfly hideout

Hello there! I do hope you are well. Things are good here but increasingly busy it seems! Still - its the way I like it so mustn't grumble! 

Today I want to share with you the cards I made using my last stamp supplied by hunky dory - its been a pleasure using these stamps - they are beautiful! Today I decided to use two different techniques to see how they compared with this stamp - I started off by using alcohol inks on yupo. I then 'inked' up the stamp using lift ink...

I then stamped this onto the yupo and wiped the image before mounting it on a DL card.

Not a huge success - the stamp is probably too detailed for this technique!

Next off I just stamped in black ink onto a distress oxide background...

....much better result this time!!!! Lovely stamp! Thanks Hunky Dory!

Tate's card

Hello all! I do hope you are well and happy. Things here are good but I am worried about how fast January is disappearing... its amazing!!!

Its my nephews birthday today - he's either 9 or 10 and I made him this card!!!

I used the froggy stamps from Clarity on a background done in distress oxides. The vegetation was stamps and dies from sheena - I do hope he likes it.

Kim Moody stamps

Hello there! Over on the Chocolate Baroque site today there is a post including the recent release from Kim Moody. I was lucky enough to work with these stamps and this is what I did with them:

This is direct to water colour card and i used my inktense pencils to colour this....

Another watercolour card and inktense combination ....

and again .... I had just got these pencils the day these stamps arrived so was really enjoying the process!

Finally I stamped onto a pixie powder background - it makes a mean sky methinks!!!!

Love these stamps - there's more inspiration over on the Chocolate Baroque DT blog.

Cute at the Christmas card Club

Hello there! How are you? I do hope you are well. We are all excited today as my little Penny has her singing debut at the Grand theatre in Lancaster. She was asked to perform in a dance show to allow a bigger time for costume changes - she has two solos - two group songs and one where she has to lead on and help a group of 4-6 year old dancers! She is very brave methinks!!!

So today its time for a new theme at our lovely Christmas card club - the theme this time was cute - I have gone more for the option of anything goes as I wanted to use another of my Phill Martin stamps kindly supplied by Hunky Dory. I started by making a background using pixie powders and then stamping the image 4 times on my sheet..

The stamp is called poinsettia and is a collage stamp with lots of lovely details. The stamp performed beautifully - even first time.

Next I cut the stamped images out ...

Then I used sheena sparkle pens to add colour to the main flowers and leaves - picking these images out specifically....

Once I had got this far I chose to add some wintry paper doll images to all but one background and the die cut word celebrate to all.

They look so pretty - and I think very festive!

Thanks again to HunkyDory for supplying the stamp - I really did enjoy using it!

My mum has joined our Christmas card club this fortnight too - she's called Gwen and these are her cards - being a good girl she stuck to the theme!!!

She said she was glad to be able to use an unused stamp - well done mum!

the scenic route ....

Hello there! Its time for another post for Countryview Challenges today. The theme this month is landscapes/cityscapes and I have gone with another landscape using hobbyart stamps - this time i have gone for a more rural scene.

I started by creating some clouds using a mask, distress ink and stencil brushes...

Next using a torn piece of paper, and a stencil brush and ink I created some hills.

Then I added a bit of stamping using hobbyart stamps ....

I added extra colour to the stamped images using pencils ...

Finally I used sharpie pen around the edge of the scene and mounted onto a card and finally added the TH sentiment.

15 minute makes for Chocolate Baroque

Hello there! I do hope you are well! Its time for my mid month quickie makes from the December shows for Chocolate baroque. There are many other inspirations over on the design team blog so please check it out! Here's what I did:

I started with a gelli print then added some same colour stamping. Next I cut a large circle and coloured that with distress oxide then stamped the bird centrally. I added a fussy cut bird on top and the black dots around the edge.

This one is another gelli print from a session I had and I simply added the bird stamps along with the meadow grasses too.

I must get some more gelli prints made up - they are so very useful for quick cards!
