A Box at Crafty Individuals

Hello Lovelies! How are you? I hope you are well and happy! I am good and feeling ready for coffeepot today - I'm in charge - I'll let you see what we made later!

Today I want to show you a box/ draw set I made to enter the Crafty Individual Challenge.

I painted the wooden drawers that I bought from The Works for around £5 with grandmas teacup paint from Indigo Blu. Next I stamped baroque-splatter-script-background in grey archival all over the sides and back of the drawers, Next I used a Crafty Individuals mask and some hot cocoa indigo blu paint to add the leaves to the box and also the brown around the bottom.

Whilst all the paint dried I stamped, coloured and fussy cut the butterfly-pairs.

Next I used potting soil archival and build-a-meadow-art-rubber-stamps to add more details to the vegetation. 

Finally I added the cut butterflies!

I had a fantastic weekend at a party for my friend Sandy's 50th birthday. She teaches Nia dance so she had the party at the yogatree studio in Stirling where we danced and drank prosecco - all dressed as pirates! After this we went up to a café up the street but before going in there we actually did a flashmob in the streets and stopped the traffic with our dancing! It was amazing fun.

Specials at Christmas Card Club

Good morning! How are you? I hope i survived last nights pirates party!!! This is another scheduled post as I will be returning today and wanted to get my Christmas card club post on the right day this time. Because its mothers day - a big shout out to all you mums out there!! - the theme chosen was to make a special card - I think for somebody special - well I have made two cards - I don't know who they will be for but I am sure that somebody will be special!! What do you think?

The background is some leftover from the snowflake background I made here. The skates are cut using a Tim Holtz Bigz sizzix die.

I also used some tim muse tokens and also the blades on the skates are Tim metal tape die cut.

I think they're pretty special!!! I would certainly be happy to receive them!!

ATC swap

Hello lovelies! How are you today? I hope you are doing well. I should be going to see my old friend from my University of Stirling days today - she turned 50 last week and tonight is having a pirate and prosecco themed party. I'm looking forward to it - I haven't seen her since Shaun's funeral so it will be good to see her for a happier occasion. There may be pictures to follow - not sure if pirates have cameras!!!

Today I would like to share with you the ATCs I made for Jo's ATC swap.  The theme was home sweet home and i decided to use some clarity houses to make mine.

Not the most inspired of ATcs but I think they're quite sweet.

I can't wait to see what comes back in return! 

I'm busy trying to think of what to do for this months theme which is travel - but I suspect i know where I'm going with that one!

More Red at Indigo Blu

Good morning Lovelies! How are you today? I am good and happy to be here reminding you about the challenge this month at indigoblublogchallenge/february-challenge-red-is-colour. Today I have another card to share with you made using the following Indigo Blu products:

Here's my card:

I love this lady - she's so very beautiful! I simply stamped her onto white card in red archival ink. 

The background is made up on a canvas base - I used part of the roman numeral stencil and the ruby slippers paint that I stippled through the stencil with a flat ended stencil brush. The canvas was sticky backed and i just added this to a black card.

Spring is in the air at Stamps and Stencils

Good Morning all! Its time for a new challenge over at stampsandstencils today - I am hosting this month and the theme I have chosen is 'Spring is in the air'. In the challenge I am looking to see what Spring means to you.... To me there are many things that it means but the piece I am sharing with you today reflects 'new life'. . I have the finished piece to show you first then a step by step to show how I put it together.

So a simple mixed media card - this is how i made it:

I started with a stencil from Ali Reeve (that special touch) and added grungepaste through it.

Once done i allowed this to dry.

Once dry I added indigoblu cottage paints using my fingers - peppermint tea at the bottom and townhouse teal at the top.

Again I allowed this to dry.

Next I used an A4 Clarity stencil and applied fossilised amber DI through it.

Then coloured the raised areas in distress pens.

I stamped and fussy cut the bird from the Tim Holtz set and added him and also stamped the word Spring from an Inkylicious set.

And so you have it....

Hello Lovelies! Well I'm very excited as I write this as I think I won over at Tims february tag - I say I think because although I have had a few people tell me, I haven't managed to see it with my own eyes yet! Both of my computers are playing up! So I have to wait to later today when I will visit my mum and check it out then!

Today I want to share with you the cards I made at coffeepot on Monday - I had a lovely relaxed time and we used some stamps - not sure whose they are - but diana based the designs on some using paperartsy stamps. Anyway - here's what we did:

I think they are so pretty - some of the favourites I have made at coffee pot! In all cases the same steps were made - I just changed the position of the stamps and some of the colours. The background was done on watercolour card - I added tumbled glass or shaded lilac centrally then added shabby shutters around the edge before then adding peeled paint.

The stamps were stamped in black momento and then copics used to add further colour.

The squiggly lines were added last and gems or glitter glue.

This final one was just me playing!

Industrial at Countryview Crafts Challenge

Hello Lovelies - I can't believe its the first of March - how did that happen??? This year is already speeding away faster than ever - must be my age!

Today sees the start of a new challenge at countryviewchallenges - this month the theme has been set by the lovely Debs and is Industrial - In my first piece I went for a tag - I hope you like it:

I had lots of fun making this tag - I used distress paints to create the tag background - I blobbed several colours (salty ocean, shaded lilac, tumbled glass and weathered wood) onto a craft sheet, spritzed with water and then swooshed my tag through and then dried.

The flowers were created using metal-foil-tape-sheets from ranger and tattered-florals die -by-tim-holtz. I also used some industrial brads. The look was achieved using Tims industrious metal technique that involved using an embossing folder, the metal sheets and some black soot distress paint.  I also used the sizzix-frameworks-die---chevron also by Tim Holtz to cut the design at the bottom of the tag.
