Decorate a bag at That Craft Place

Hello there! How are you today! This is a scheduled post as I was out on Sat night with the girls at their show -  am hoping to add some pictures of them to the next post that will be out this afternoon! Anyway - time for a new challenge over at That Craft Place where the theme for this fortnight is ' Decorate a bag'. I decided to decorate an old brown bag using stamps by Sam Poole from Creative Expressions. This stamp set was bought from That Craft Place. Here's my bag:

I did a distress background then stamped in archival ink - once dry I used water to faux bleach out the colour on the flowers. Finally I stamped the orange flowers.

I would like to enter this into the following challenges:

Sheena India makes 7 and 8 plus last coffee pot make.

Good morning Lovelies! Well its show day today for my little munchkins - Lucy is doing ballet and both are doing tap/musical theatre. They have a matinee and an evening performance. I'm really looking forward to seeing them this afternoon - but not so much being behind the scenes this evening - lol!!! Anyway - I will be late in tonight so if I'm late commenting you'll know why!!!

Today I have my final two makes to share with you from Sheenas India DVD and also one I made with the ladies at the last coffeepot session.

This one was from the DVD and involved using alcohol markers to create the background - great technique Sheena - thanks for that one! The main image was stamped and embossed on the reverse then blender pen was used to take the colour from the image - very clever stuff!

This one was also from the DVD although I did use a different method to colour the elephant.

This is what i made with the ladies at coffee pot last time - they all enjoyed it - its the final session of the academic year on Monday - they've asked to do gelli plate - so thats going to be interesting! I'll report back how it went soon!!!

Thats all for today! I hope you have enjoyed your visit and look forward to seeing you here again soon!

Big Hugs

Use a full set of stamps at AVJ

Good morning to you! I hope you are well and happy! We are all good! Ready for another Friday! I have my make for the latest challenge at AVJ - A Vintage Journey. The challenge this time is to use a full set of stamps on one item - since the challenge requires that you use the techniques and style of Tim Holtz I decided to use one of his stamp sets - Mariposa. Here's what I made:

I started with a wooden hankie box holder that I bought from That Craft Place. To this I added black card and then layered on card that I had coloured up with distress paints and distress inks.

Once I had coloured the card I used most of the stamps from the set on it to create a background pattern. Then I cut the card to size and added to the box. On some extra card I did some more distress paints and then stamped the Mariposa butterfly and fussy cut it - I also stamped the pieces on the ends and cut and added them. The diecuts are from the Garden Greens set from Tim Holtz.

I'd like to enter this for the following challenges:

A vintage Journey:use-every-stamp-in-set
Sunday Stamper:pinkleart Wood

Hope you have a great Friday - I've got the gym and a class followed by gardening club - we'll be harvesting again this week. Whatever you're doing enjoy it! And thanks for dropping by today. Big Hugs rachel xx

Indigo blu: Tag you're it

Morning lovelies! How are you today? I hope you are well and happy! We're all okay - the girls went on their end of year school trips yesterday - both had lots of fun and a great day .... they really do seem to go out and about lots - which has got to be good for them! I had a very hot and sweaty run - it was only 6 miles but it felt much longer than the 8 and 1/2 miles I did on Sunday morning - probably because it was later in the day and the heat was a big difficulty for me! Anyway - the training is going well! I'm running the Great North Run for St Johns Hospice in Lancaster this year. If you are able to sponsor me here's the link to my justgiving page. The run is in September - so there's a way to go yet!

The project for today is my entry to the Indigo Blu challenge - the theme this time is Tag it. Here's what I did:

I've used stamps from a set of indigo blu stamps and also the main image that is a smaller stamp image on its own.

I started with a kraft tag and used distress inks on it then dried. I did another piece of white card too and then went bacl to the tag. Next I stamped the main image with versamark on the tag and set the image using black wow powder and a heat gun. Then I stamped the image on the distress coloured white card and fussy cut the flowers/butterfly. Finally I stamped an additional butterfly and the words and then cut these out and stuck them onto the base tags.

I'd like to enter this tag into the following challenges:

Indigo Blu: indigoblublogchallengeTag you're it
Unruly Paperartsunrulypaperarts: Summer Fiesta
MMCSmymumscraftshop: Summer or bright colours

Thanks for dropping by today and I hope you've enjoyed your visit. Big hugs to you and hope to see you again soon!

Imagination Crafts New Challenge

Pinch punch its the first of the month!!! Wow - July ..... how did that happen? So being the first I have my first project to share with you for imagination-crafts challenge- the theme this month is anything goes and remember if you use Imagination Craft products in your make you'll go into the draw to win £40 to spend in store - now that can't be bad! Here's my make:

I started off by using the bundled sage and shaded lilac distress inks to make the background then inked over with a script stamp. Next I took the Wisteria panel stencil Imagination Crafts and added a combination of amethyst and sage green sparkle medium through it then left it to dry.

Next I made the full background by brayering lilac silkies onto card and leaving this to dry. Once everything was dry I cut and assembled, adding the lace and sentiment last.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:

Thanks for looking today. Here's a couple of pictures from sports day:

here's Lucy at the egg and spoon - and there's me in the background!

this is Penny at the long Jump.

They had a lovely day - Penny managed to come third in the skipping race - but poor old Lucy was last  in both her races!!!! Nevermind!

Thanks for dropping by and I hope you have a great Tuesday!
