Siobhan and Martin's card

Hello Lovelies - how are you? I hope you're fine and well and having a good weekend. We're all good - we'll be losing 'Nana' today which will be very sad. Its always lovely when she comes to visit us! Still - hopefully it won't be too long before she comes again!

I've got a card to share with you today that I made for a commission. Its a wedding card for a lady in my village. She wanted it for a very flamboyant lady and her husband to be - it sounds like a very unusual wedding - hence the very unusual card! But I do like it!

I started off using copper sparkle medium from Imagination Crafts through the peacock mask from That special touch and created the paper that I then die cut into hearts  and mounted on an orangey mirri board also diecut into hearts. I added the bride and groom name. Then I die cut the card shape and used distress inks to colour the base of the easel. The top of the easel was also die cut and I mounted the hearts onto this overlapping them slightly before adding the kingfishers cut from a delicious doodles image and coloured with promarkers and the butterflies - also cut from the same image and coloured with promarkers. I added the Maribou Orange feathers to the side - the bride is having three orange feathers coming from a head-dress and a theatrical orange gown! The flowers on the base are WOC and I added them around the edge of the card. The Congratulations was also stamped and added to create the lip behind which the easel could sit.
The lady in the village was ecstatic with the card. I just hope the bride was too!

I'd like to enter this card into the following challenges:

Imagination Crafts Inspiration Post

Hello there! Can you believe its been a whole two weeks since the Imagination Crafts Challenge Blog began? Well it has - which means its time to show you another piece to try and get you to join us before the end of the month. It is anything goes but the rules do state that you need to use an IC product to be considered for the massive £40 prize of IC goodies! If you don't use one you are still eligible for a top 3 award so all to play for really!

Here's what I did:

I started with a mannequin and stand that I bought from the indigo blu stand at the Port Sunlight Show. I started by painting that with Pebeo acrylic yellow paint and allowing to dry. Then I added versa mark directly to the painted body in stripes and added black embossing powder and heat set. Then I stamped the dragon fly - part of a gilding stamp set from Imagination Crafts. I used the Imagination Crafts Hexagon mask and some versa mark then added some Frantage to colour the hexagons again heat setting. The wings were made by mixing sparkle gel from Imagination crafts with pebeo black acrylic paint and using the hexagon mask to apply the mixture onto acetate that I had previously cut into shape. Finally I added the WOC flower and the ribbon trim and painted the stand with black gesso and added the lettering. I had lots of fun making this - its a bit different for me - love to know what you make of it!!!!

I'd like to enter this piece into the following challenges:

Polka Doodlepolkadoodle: Summer Fun
TPCtotallypapercrafts: All of a flutter
Sisterhood of Craftersthesisterhoodofcrafters: B+W+1
IDICrobynsfetishchallengeblog: Things with wings
Crafty Friendscraftyfriendschallengeblog: Inspired by a song: Don't worry - Bee Happy!

Only one more to go today! Hopefully this should be the last manic Monday for a while! I'm seeing my ladies for a workshop today too - so hopefully I'll remember my camera and show you what we've been up to. Brushless water colour is the order of the day!

Guess who I bumped into yesterday at Doncaster?
