Today I want to share with you a card I made for one of Penny's friends' birthdays. She was 8. I know its probably a little grown up but I really wanted to use this stamp set from paperartsy - love it and I was very happy to get in during the CVC sale before Christmas!
I started by making the background - I used distress inks wild honey and mustard seed. Then stamped the hexagonal stamps in the same colours and built up the corners. I also added the bee happy wording in the background.
Next I stamped the bees and the hive. I coloured and fussy cut them then switched on my meltpot.
Each bee was given a dunking in the clear UTEE to make them glossy and firm. I also wanted to use this card to enter the paperartsy challenge which is transparent art. I then stuck everything onto the card.
I would like to enter this into paperartsy-topic-1-transparent-art-challenge
I had a good visit with my dad yesterday - he's been moved to a ward where they go before they leave hospital. Like a rehabilitation ward. Anyway he was so much more lucid and much happier. I'm hoping he'll be home some time this week. We do have to go and see the oncology doctor on Thursday to get the results from his CT scan. I'm more than a little concerned about the outcome of that. But it needs to be done!
Hope you have a good Monday - I'm off for a run, then I'm heading up coffee pot and finally I'll be off to the gym for my weight training! busy day then! Whatever you do enjoy it!
Big hugs
Rachel xx
