Tag swap at That Craft Place

Good morning all! How are you? I hope you are okay - my run seems to have gone okay yesterday although I really did feel it at the time - I'll hopefully get another  one in today - I need to start building up the miles in a week!

Now today I want to show you a tag I made for the tag swap over at the natter and chatter group on face book for that craft place. The brief was a modern christmas tag - here's what i did.

As you can see I made two tags - I thought I would keep one ready for Christmas! The background was made with distress paints and water. Once dry I used the tree stamp from paperartsy and the christmas text stamp from Crafty individuals. Then I used some beaded mesh mesh from That craft place between the two stamps.

The decoration was added to the tree using liquid pearls and the mdf square was painted with gold dauber from ranger and when dry stamped on. Finally I added the ribbon at the top from that Craft place. 

I do hope you like my tag - and I hope Lisa whom I got a tag from liked it too!

Creative Inspirations Anything goes with option of a sketch

Hello lovelies - how are you today? Thanks for your lovely comments on my box - I love it so I'm glad that you did too!  I wonder if you'll like todays offering as much? Its my make for this weeks challenge at Creative Inspirations:

This is made using the sketch option from this week. I have used a stamp from Sam Poole at Creative Expressions that I bought from That Craft Place. 

The background was done on the gelli plate and the flower was made from white felt coloured by pan pastels. The leaves are from a sheena douglass embossing folder - I swiped the leaves with cactus green staz-on and then cut the leaves out. The letters came from the last Do crafts creativity magazine. I made this card for my friend Rose - she's our Brown Owl!

I hope you have a good Wednesday - Penny had a lovely time yesterday - they had a pirate themed day including a treasure hunt - and she managed to find a pebble with a fossil shell in it! So she was very happy! I'm hoping I'm happy after my run today - I've not really been doing any - but now I need to get back into training if I'm going to complete the great north run in early september.

CC3 challenge 3:faux tea roses

Morning lovelies! How are you today? I hope you are well and if not I'm sending you a big hug to make you feel better!

Lucy had a great day out yesterday - the weather wasn't too bad either. Its Penny's turn today so here's hoping she has as much fun and as much luck with the weather!

Today I've got my entry for the latest CC3 challenge hosted by Linda ledbetter to share with you. This time the technique involves using Tims pinecone die to make faux tea roses. Prizes for the challenge are provided by Tim and Mario and also the odd numbered challenges are supported by the inspiration emporium who are offering a $50 prize.

I have decorated a box from the MDF man - I started by painting the whole box with black gesso then covering the sides and top with papers from the 8x8 menagerie collection.

Once I had got the papers on I set to decorating the top with more Tim goodies starting with a diecut from the lattice die.

Next came the faux tea roses made using the pinecone die using the technique in the compendium of curiosities vol 3 as detailed on page 65. They were cut in white and cream card and I coloured them using DI (barn door). I also stamped the sentiment then diecut that and used the DI to colour the edges. The leaves are cut from the tattered leaves die and bent up to give them some shape. Finally the 'shield'. This is a spellbinders bezel and has been filled with UTEE melted in the meltpot.

Sheena make 3 and 4 plus candy winner

Good morning lovelies! How are you today? I hope you are well and good! Did you enjoy the weather yesterday? I hope so! We had a lovely time at Fell Foot Park on Windermere. Walking, climbing, icecream eating and a little trip by shaun and the girls in a boat! Lovely! Lucy is back on Windermere today on a school trip - I think she's going to need her waterproofs - lol!!!!

Lets get the house keeping done first - I had a candy running that finished yesterday - I had 36 comments - I kept each one despite some not being valid - I thought I would deal with that if Mr Random came up with an invalid one - but he didn't - he came up with no. 26 - and thats you

I was very pleased with this one as I won a fantastic candy from Dawn a little while ago and while this is only something small its still nice to know I'm giving a little back!!! Dawn I think I have your address so will get it sent off to you!

Now - for todays cards - 2 more from the Sheena DVD:

I enjoyed this one which used the arches stamp which was done in black soot distress ink and then water and a paint brush used to draw the black into grey.

This second one involved using glycerine to cover the background before using distress inks. It did help with the blending but I felt this was at the expense of the colour intensity - I'm not sure whether or not I will do it myself again!

By the seaside at Craft a scene

Goodly afternoon to you all! I hope you've been having a good Sunday! If all has gone to plan here I should have been for a picnic to Fellfoot Park on Windermere - fingers crossed!

My final post of the day is for the challenge over at craft a scene. This month we would like to see your makes including seaside scenes. I used stamps from Crafty Individuals to make this scene:

I just adore this stamp plate - its gorgeous! Colouring in the background has been done using pan pastels and the lady and parts of the beach huts were coloured using spectrum noirs.

GDT at stamping sensations: Animal Antics

Hello Lovelies! Second post of the day! Its going to be a bit busy today - I've got a third too!!! Thats one of the reasons I needed a rest Thursday/Friday!!! Anyway - this post .... I was lucky enough to win over at stamping sensations in April and part of the win is a GDT spot for June - so here I am - the theme this month is animal antics. Well when I got the email from Brenda I thought long and hard about this one - then Barbara Gray did a hole in the wall youtube technique. I just had to have a go. This is what I came up with:

All that Glitters at Imagination Crafts

Good morning lovelies! I hope you are well and happy today! Its the first June - already .... how did that happen eh? Now being the first means I have a post for the new challenge at Imagination Crafts today. The theme this month is all that Glitters - so perfect for using sparkle medium! Check out what my teamies have done here.

Here's my make for your inspiration today:

To make my card I started by brayering sage green sparkle medium onto card and allowed that to dry. Next I applied this same sparkle medium and amethyst sparkle medium through the  flower flourish stencil.

I added the ribbon and butterflies cut from a simon says stamp die I won from the lovely Celine. Thankyou Celine! The sentiment comes from the old pink floyd song - shine on you crazy diamond - be singing that all day now!!!
