Mid month at Imagination Crafts: All that glitters

Hello Lovelies - its mid month again - how did that happen? I swear somebody is pressing fast forward on the time button. Anyway - being the 15th it means its time for me to give you a nudge to remind you about the imagination-craftschallenge.Its all about Glitter this month and if you use imagination crafts goodies in your make you will be entered into the draw to win a £40 voucher to spend at the store. Great prize!!!! Here's what I did:

This card heart was gifted to me by the lovely Kerry - I painted it with black gesso then used silver sparkle medium and tropical leaf stencil to do the glittery layer on top of the black.

Next I stamped the words sparkle and shine on some scrap card. Then I added the silver sparkle medium to some martha stewart moulds and left it to dry for 48 hours.

I removed the dried sparkle medium from the moulds and added my sparkly flower and leaves to the base of the heart. If you'd like more inspiration check out what my teamies have done here.

Penguins at the Christmas card Club

Good morning lovelies - how are you today? I hope you are well and happy. Did you have a good day yesterday? I had a great one - a personal training session followed by a half mile swim, gardening club then a bit of housework before picking the girls up from school. They did Jujitsu in the evening and I managed to wrap plenty of things for the lucky dip - its the school fair next weekend - its come around so quick! And today ..... well I'm hoping its going to be a quiet one - I'll be doing the Moonlight walk tonight - 25km starting at 10pm! I must be mad! Wish me luck!

Today my post for the Christmas card Club is one day early - but I thought it was better today than two posts tomorrow! The theme this fortnight is penguins - now I love penguins - and was thinking about that lovely delicious doodles image - but I couldn't find it - anyway, after searching my stamps I managed to find a wild rose studio stamp and this is the card I made:

I did have fun making the inky background for my card using a snowflake stamp from the front cover of an old craft stamper magazine and versamark plus clear embossing powder. Then I set to work with distress inks.

The image was coloured with spectrum noirs and then I added fine crystal glitter and cut with a spellbinders die.

Sheenas india cards 5 and 6

Good morning lovelies! I hope you're okay. Wow wasn't it a stunning day yesterday? It was beautiful here in the northwest and I even managed to get a run in it - fabulous!!!!

Today I have got my next couple of makes from Sheenas India DVD to share with you. I hope you like them.

This first one basically uses an embossing folder and distress inks and then some mica pigment paints.

This one involves lots of glitter and several techniques including brayering the embossing folder with glycerine before adding embossing powders and heat setting. I love this one - so clever.

CC3 challenge 4: layering stencils and texture paste

Good morning all! How are you today? I'm recovering from a very busy day yesterday - I was rushing here and there trying to find a gypsophilia plant for my dad. I got one - but its not exactly what I wanted - still - beggars can't be choosers eh?

I also had a bit of a scare at Rainbows - we were playing hide and seek outside and thought I'd lost three of them! Its funny now because they were so good at hiding - but at the time I really was a bit worried! I guess we won't be playing hide and seek again!!

Today I've got my make for the current CC3 challenge - I'm not happy with this but time was short and it was necessary to get it made! This challenge is hosted by Linda Ledbetter - here - and Tim and Mario provide the prizes along this time with a prize from thefunkiejunkie Boutique. Here's what I made - its a small plaque only about 15cm high.

I've used the hearts layering stencil according to the method on page 49 of the compendium of curiosities 3.  I've also used a TH diecut - garden greens - a pinecone diecut faux tearose, two sets of TH stamps, distress stains, paints and inks.

On this bottom part of the plaque you can also see a little bit of the bubble stencil which I applied DI black soot through.

bright and bold colours at creative Inspiration

Good morning lovelies - how are you today? I am well and happy - and ready for a new day! We have a new theme at Creative Inspirations - when I saw this theme I was very happy and excited - Bright and Bold colours - right up my street - anyway - out came the sheena stamps and the distress paints and this is what I made:

The background was made using distress paints which I mushed onto my glass mat, flicked with water and mushed into two sheets of card. Then I used distress inks and a layering stencil from Tim Holtz.

The flowers, branch and leaves are all stamps by sheena and the sentiment is from Indigo blu. I have stamped them on the preprepared card and then fussy cut. The flowers have been pinched and bent to give them some life.

coffee pot and get some texture at A Vintage Journey

Good morning lovelies! How are you today? I had a busy one yesterday - coffee pot in the morning then two meetings in the evening - its no wonder I'm always chasing my tail? As I said to my mum 'I'm just the girl who can't say no!' Its an old song for those of you out there that are too young to remember it!!! Well I'm jolly well going to have to embrace the word I think!!!!!

Anyway first of all my piece for the challenge 'get some texture' at A vintage Journey.

This was made starting with TH distress paints swooshed onto my craft mat, water added and a tag some card swoosed through and then dried and DI added for the background. Next I stamped the text - a TH stamp - in sepia archival and then added some cosmic shimmer texture paste through a TH layering stencil.

Next I added the lace and the photograph from a TH paper pad and then set about altering the surface of the TH numbers by adding distress paints.

Here's the numbers close up - no real significance I'm afraid - just the numbers I had left!!! I added the faux tea roses too!

Now onto coffee pot - here my ladies are getting messy:

We were using chocolate baroque stamps, distress inks and making one layer cards by masking. Here's two of mine (green plus purple) plus a lady called Catherines'. They all made great attempts at this and the results were fabulous - Catherine was just a little quicker then the rest.

Finally I wanted to show you all the lovely handmade cards I was lucky enough to receive for my birthday - thankyou to mum, rebecca, jo, sue, karen, Natalie, Linda, Anne, Sue, Jennifer, Mags, Hazel, Penny and Lucy! They're all wonderful cards from such lovely people!!! There's also a mahoosive tryptych in there from Jo and rebecca - can't wait to have a play with that and a really big thankyou!!!!

masculine at clarity

Good morning lovelies - how are you today? I'm feeling good and am quite excited as I have my crafty ladies to visit today - it seems an absolute age since I've seen them - I hope they've got themselves braced for some inky fun - lol!!!!!

Today I want to show you my entry for this months clarity challenge - the theme is masculine and I've made a card for my bil who's birthday is in July. He's a keen cyclist and cycles a lot in the mountains near austria - he lives in Germany.

to make this card I've used 4 clarity stamps and two clarity masks - I also used adirondack inks and also distress inks and applied them with a brush.

I started by stamping the sport word with versamark and adding black wow powders then heat setting. Next I did the same for the cyclist. Then I built up the mountains in the background using antique linen DI and a brush and clarity mask. I wanted to get the feel of the mountains. Finally I built up the sky using a clarity mask and first cloudy blue followed by faded jeans. Must get some of the clarity brushes - mine are quite old brushes and they shed bristles verily!!!!
