Trees at Christmas Card Club

Hello there! Well another fortnight has rolled around - and this time the theme for Christmas card club is trees - either in a scene or otherwise. Well I was so excited to receive my Lavinia trees from the recent release, I just had to use them in my makes for this theme - I've done 4 that are basically the same...

I did enjoy making these - all stamps are lavinia - I created the background by first stamping and embossing the sparkles in white then using distress oxides (squeezed lemonade, shaded lilac and chipped sapphire) then did the stamping with the beautiful trees, magnus and one of the owls plus some holly. I then used a very soft white chalk to create the misty effect and finally added the sentiment.

My mums cards are two that are very different from each other.

Firstly a clean and simple card using a penny black stamp....

and second a scene using a lavinia deer and woodware trees!

Hope you're having a good Sunday - I will be on day 2 of an IndigoBlu dirty weekend when this goes live - hoping I will be managing okay as I have my jab on Saturday morning! Yikes!!! Glad to be getting it though!

Big hugs

Flowers and foliage at Christmas Card Club

Hello there - and a happy mothers day to all of you mums! I hope you all have a lovely day! My Lucy is supposed to be baking me some vegan millionaires shortbread for mothers day - I shall wait to see what occurs!!!!

Another fortnight has rolled around and its time for flowers and foliage at the Christmas Card Club. This week I have only made three cards - all using Chocolate Baroque stamps - timeless classics I think.

I used bundled sage distress oxide over the back of the card then stamped the image in versafine clair. After that I added water droplets using my fan brush and dabbed away the water. Next I coloured the images using watercolour brush pens and finally added the pine needles distress oxide around the edges. Simple but I like them!

My mum has used sentiment stamps from hobbyart and apple blossom foliage dies and John Lockward poinsettia dies.

Hope you have a happy Mothers Day - hoping to go for a walk with my mum later - fingers crossed for the weather to allow it to happen!

Big hugs

Birthdays Galore!

Hello there! I have been doing a little bit of pottery painting for friends birthdays and wanted to log those makes here - the first is for my friend Shelagh who has a birthday today - she loves Badgers!

This last one was for my friend Sandy who had her birthday earlier this month - she went to Antartica for her 50th ( a few years ago) so I did an Antartica themed birthday for her...

I do love my pottery painting - it makes me feel very relaxed!

Have a great day!

More silhouettes

Hi there! I do hope you are well! We are all trying to get our heads around going back to school next week - and figuring out the logistics of getting us all tested before we return. Which is no small feat as we are all at different schools!

Onto the matter at hand - I am sharing my second make for the silhouettes challenges over at Countryview Challenges all month - all you need to do is make something with a silhouette as the main focus and link it up with the challenge blog to be in with a chance of winning a £20 spend. Here's my second make:

My bunnies are leaping off into the sunset, very much following their hearts! To create this card I made a scene first using a moon mask outtie to create the sun then a landscape stencil line and distress inks/stencil brushes to create the sky and hills. I then added some stencilling using an Aall and Create Stencil and also a little stamping too - again with aall and create stamps. Finally I added the bunnies which are a Tim die cut. They are lots of fun aren't they? More inspiration and a link up here

Hope you have a great Wednesday!

Silhouettes at Countryview Challenges

Hello there! Its the first of the month already - and this month the challenge at Countryview Crafts is 'Silhouettes'. Apparently its my theme - love this one - so I am so glad that I came up with it! This is my first make for it!

As soon as I saw these silhouettes from a recent Tim release I knew I had to have them - big Mary Poppins fan so I guess these are just practically perfect for me!
To create the background I used my gel press and inked it up using my brayer with crackling campfire distress ink, I then used part of a rose stamp with more ink on it to add details to the plate before pulling the print. Very simple but I think it worked nicely!
I do hope you will be able to join us for this challenge. You can get more inspiration and link up here
