Christmas flowers at CCC
Hello there - well I am behind schedule today - apologies - made the card and forgot to post it! What am I like? I guess the only answer is busy! Anyway - the theme at CCC this fortnight is Christmas flowers - my make is done using stamps and dies from sheena....
For my card I made a background using weathered wood and hickory smoke distress oxides. I then stamped the corners in grey versafine clair and added a few stars. Then I stamped the words and die cut the flowers from a sheet of card I had coloured using festive berries, barn door and weathered wood distress oxides. Finally I put the whole thing together.
My mum has been busy using stamps from paperartsy... she has made two lovely cards...
I love them!
We have had a good day today - its my mums birthday tomorrow so we went out for lunch - then I spent the afternoon practicing for a play that I am performing in two weeks time... lastly I have been with Penny helping her practice her duet with her friend for the same show...phew!!!! Time to relax now!
Big hugs!

Final 15 min post for Chocolate Baroque
Hello there! Well I have a card over on the Chocolate Baroque Design Team page today - its the final time that Judith is putting together our quick makes so its worth visit. I only have one card this time and this is it:
I have used a gelli background print made using inks that I created. Over the top I stamped the artichoke image and simply coloured it in using watercolour pencils - I just love my inktense pencils - they are fabulous! I also darked the outer area afterwards covering the image with a circle then brushing over with distress oxide.
Hope you are having a good weekend - I am at Cumbria crafters again today - these months really roll around quickly - and Penny has a gymnastics competition tomorrow - so no rest for the wicked!!!
Big hugs

Reindeers at Christmas Cards Club
Hello there! Its a new fortnight over at Christmas card club - and its my theme - I chose reindeers. For my makes I was very last minute but still managed to make three cards...
All three have backgrounds made using distress oxides on a gelli plate with luscious powders flicked on in the form of a liquid. I've then added a moon and outlined a darker sky in distress oxides. In the top 2 I added stamping from Lavinia and the winter wishes from TH.
In the bottom one I added TH diecuts, some Lavinia vegetation and a bit of TH stencilling.
Now onto my mums cards - she made two:
This one uses stamps from Clarity ....
and this one dies from tattered lace!
Its been a great few days - my birthday was on Friday - I was at work all day but I did have a nice evening.... and Saturday would have been Shaun's birthday - so we went out and played crazy golf and went to a garden centre - a nice quiet day out!
Hope you have a great Sunday - I'll be doing TV samples all day today!!!

Pottery painting!
Hello there my lovelies! How are you? I do hope you are well and happy! I am a busy girl these days but I found term over half term to pop along to Pottyroos and do a little more pottery painting - both freehand and using stamps from IndigoBlu. Here are the results of my efforts...I am pretty pleased with both!
My first is a bowl that I painted freehand - I love the colours and its a real pleasure to eat my breakfast from this!!!
The next uses the hare stamp from the Indigo Blu release from May26th. I love this stamp and think the plate looks fab - my friend Ali loves it so much she's asked for me to make her one!! How lovely is that! This one has gone off to Kay at IndigoBlu headquarters.
Where would we be without art and craft? I shudder to think!
Have a great day!

Busy buzzing kind of day ...
Hello there! Time for my second post of the month over at Countryview Challenges where the theme this month is 'Its a Bugs Life'. The particular bug I chose today is a magnificient Bee.
He's a lovely big stamp ... but I also used a smaller version in the background ... I used the gelli plate the achieve the ghosting effect....I learned this particular wrinkle at a class with the lovely Jo Rice...
I inked up the gelli plate with distress oxide and then stamped the smaller Bee stamp into the plate - no ink... I did this 4 times and each time stamped the ink that I removed from the gelli plate onto scrap paper.
Apologies for the quality here but this just shows the print that I then pulled from the gelli plate.... I actually used the inside of the card to pull a further lighter print too.
Next I added the bee stamping, positioning him to try and obscure some of the line i had on the gelli plate image as I didn't blend my inks too well. I further covered this line with stencilling and also coloured in the bee.
In the final card I just added a sentiment from the lovely Alison Bomber.
Hope you enjoyed the process and like the card too!
Big hugs for a great day!

Insects at Countryview Challenges
Hello there! Well June is blooming - and over at countryviewchallenges we have a new challenge starting - its a bugs life! ! Jane is is charge of the challenge and would like to see insects being the main feature of your design. I have gone for a stamp by Aall and Create and words from visible-image.
To make my card I stamped the border stamp onto a secondary gelli print then again onto a primary gelli print. I fussy cut the deeper coloured insects then added the visible image words alongside the initial stamping. I then added the deeper coloured images on top of the insects and finished off with some more stamping using a simple dot stamp also from visible image.
I do hope you can join us this month and check out the amazing work from my fabulous teamies here. ....
Hugs
Rachel xx
