I don't know if you read on facebook but we had a family trauma amidst all the chaos - my dad was admitted to hospital with a suspected kidney stone. Lancaster meanwhile became completely washed out and the bridges over to Morecambe were impassable. In the smaller hours of the morning the Mountain rescue team took my mum back to Morecambe so she could get some sleep. My dad was kept in hospital. I found all this out by telephoning the hospital - my mum along with all the other people in Morecambe was without power and her phone is one of those that gets plugged in - there is no mobile signal and her battery had run out anyway. Anyway, my dad suffers from dementia and can be quite difficult - he wanders to try and find my mum if she's not there. Mum phoned the hospital at lunch time and found they were sending him home once a doctor had okayed it. She phoned less than an hour later and my dad was going to be coming home with some friends. When the friends finally got to my mum (about two hours later) she learned from them that they had found my dad wandering around outside the hospital in his slippers - he still had his wrist band on and had clearly wandered off in search of my mum. We are so grateful that Marian and her husband just so happened to be passing by and saw my dad - I cannot begin to imagine what might have happened had they not been there. Anyway - my dad is home but we are all left with very mixed feelings. Very grateful but at the same time scared and angry that it could happen in the first place.
And so onto todays card - a bright one using a lovely stamp from chocolate baroque.
Its a great stamp - I don't think I have done it justice though!
Do take care and be thankful for what is good in life!
