more me time

Hello Lovelies! Well I have another card to blog today - its for a good friends partners' birthday. Before I show you though just to let you know that Shaun is continuing to do well - 5 hours in his chair today and writing well to communicate - he may even get his cuff down on his tracheostomy tomorrow and then he can have a valve fitted so he'll be able to speak! Brilliant!

Here's my card for Graham - I made it in response to the Chocolate Baroque Challenge - Its a colour challenge:

Here's what I did using the steampunk birds set and also one of the texture fragments. I also used the accordion die from Karen Burniston and distress inks (vintage photo, rusty hinge, mustard seed and frayed burlap).

I started by producing the background by inking on card and stamping then cutting with the die. I affixed the panels together then cut the squares. Next I stamped the birds and the words and added them. Then finally I added the extras.

I would like to enter this into the following challenges:

Thanks for popping by - off to have a look around your blogs now!

Big Hugs

Rachel xx

  2. Love the way you've used this die. The autumn colors and the focal motifs you've decorated this folding card with, really go well together to make a beautiful card. So happy to hear your DH is progressing so well, and pray that it continues on. Best wishes & prayers for him and your family, as I can imagine that you are worn out with going through this and still doing all the normal things that must go on. Big Hugs & TFS
