Today I have two things to share with you - the first is a card which is a take on the second day with Hels on my recent weekend retreat. I did this card with my ladies on Monday and they really enjoyed the techniques and their results:
So to make the back ground we stuck punched strips onto thick card, added texture paste, covered with acrylic paint and then sprayed with cosmic shimmer spray paint before cutting into 4 equal size pieces. The flowers were threaded together and sprayed and the sentiment stamped and added.
I'd like to enter this into the following challenges:
LOTVideastoinspire: Name that tune - Bobby Bare - the diet song
Sunday stamperpinkleart - diamonds
The second piece I want to show you is a practical one - an MDF 'box' to hold remote controls - I've decorated it using the chocolate baroque Mackintosh Beauties stamp set.
The images were painted with luminartes primary elements - the colour scheme was chosen to reflect that in the Our creative corner challenge - plum, blue and brown. The stamping is in brown (sepia) and although the roses look pink they are as plum as I could get them - honestly!!!!!
I'd like to enter this into the challenge at ourcreativecorner6Our Creative Corner - 3 colours.
Thanks for looking - I hope you have a great valentines day - remember the card that I made for Shaun to give me - well neither of us know where it is - so I've given him my Crafty Individuals one - I love this too! Lol!!! I hope he hasn't managed to lose that - not seen it yet!!!!!
Big Hugs to you!
Rachel xx

ReplyDeleteYou really have showcased the techniques from our weekend with Hels beautifully in your card Rachel, I love it. What a great idea too to make something so beautiful to house those pesky tv controls - I love how you mirrored those beautiful Macintosh images with the plum roses too.
ReplyDeleteNow with my official hat on, thank you so much for joining us this month at Our Creative Corner. Hugs, Anne xx
Two gorgeous projects Rachel, can we do the card sometime when you are here

Wow what a smashing card Rachel, I love it. I also love the altered remote box, it looks great with the macintosh designs on it.

Well that's one very smart looking remote control box Rachel. I'd love to see this in real life and 'share your pain' at finding it tricky to get good photos which show up the colours properly. Maybe trying natural daylight at the weekends is the way forward (if time allows of course)? Thanks so much for joining us at Our Creative Corner and for proving you don't always have to stamp in black. Jenny x
ReplyDeleteWhat gorgeous makes, Rachel, I love the card, fabulous design and colours.
ReplyDeleteA really pretty storage box, lovely images and colours, have a great weekend, hugs Kate x
Two great projects Rachel, I bet your ladies enjoyed doing it, Patricia's on the other hand would say it's to messy - well the rebels would. As for your control box it's a great idea but wouldn't work in my house husband would still just leave them all over the place. Hazel xx
ReplyDeleteA fabulous card and container for your remote controls - I think we could all do with one of those - lovely bright colours.

Both pieces are stunning hun, and you have shared some lovely techniques that you learnt too. Sadly I am housebound 95% of the time and when I do get out I suffer for three to five days after with a lot more pain - so seeing Hels is not something that will happen in the short term.
ReplyDeleteI will have a go at making a background like you have shared - thank you for the inspiration and I hope you have a lovely Valentine's Day/Weekend xx
Ooh! loving your card Rachel the techniques we did with Hels look great in these colours and your remote control holder would brighten up any room. Mo x
