no torch today

Good morning all! Here's hoping you are well! I'm guessing you may be wet! Well I was supposed to be taking my girls to see the olympic torch as it passed through nearby Carnforth today - but the rain has put me off and I'm afraid I didn't fancy standing in it with two little girls not really being able to see past peoples umbrellas!!! So mummy made the decision not to go! I think the my eldest Lucy was quite relieved!!!

Anyway - onto todays card - I finally got the chance to have a play with some of the indigo blu things I was lucky enough to get for my birthday - and I made this thankyou card for my mum:

I used the flitterglu and the gilding flakes called brighton pier - I coloured the leaves and part of the inner with promarkers and the petals with pan pastels.

I'd like to enter this card into the following challenges:

panpasteluk: summertime
craftysentiments: Bright colours
365cards: Day 113: Nature

So thats all for today - I have a busy evening - its our annual guiding review that I have to attend tonight and then its the school summer fair (?) tomorrow - that should be fun in all this rain!!!
Have a great weekend and hope to see you again tomorrow!

Hugs Rachel xx

  4. Love this card Rachel i love sunflowers, they remind me of when i sow fields full of them in france.

Sorry you couldn't go to see the torch pass by but its not nice for children to stand in the rain, if you google it on BBC you can watch it on-line live!!

  9. Love these colors on this sunflower. Hadn't thought of using Pan Pastels to actually color an image, just to make backgrounds (silly, I know).
