Little Butterfly Lucy

Good morning to you - I hope you are well. Thanks for your kind comments yesterday - I'm very excited about todays make - its very bright - but I love it to pieces - I hope you do too. Its a layout for the challenge over at Scrap 365 where you have to use their sketch. Here's my layout first then I'll show you the sketch later. Have you got those sunnies on?

Here's the sketch I followed:

I took a piece of A3 Centura pearl and cut it to 12x12 size - it was actually 11.75 x 11.75.  Next I added bright distress stains (to match the colours in the photo) to my craft mat and spritzed them with water - then I swooshed the card through the paints. I tried to cover as much of the card as possible then dried with a heat gun. Next I applied distress ink to fill any gaps and give even more impact.

Next came the stamping - I used black versafine and a fluorish stamp from sheena douglass and a butterfly stamp from chocolate baroque. I then did some stencilling using the TH bubble stencil and some black dreamweaver embossing paste.

Then I stamped the title - and left everything to dry. Finally I used a white pen to add highlights - - I think this is so effective! I wish to enter my layout into the following challenges:

Thats all for today - I hope you have a wonderful Friday and I look forwars to seeing you again soon! Hugs Rachel xx

Sketch challenge at scrap 365 and some potato stamping

Good morning lovelies! how are you today? Thanks for all your concern - you are lovely! I'm fine though and not about to hurt my back intentionally - but I need to keep my fitness up - I still have the Great North Run to look forward to in September - I'm running it for a local hospice this year - more of that soon but not today!!

Today I have a little candy for you - just leave a comment on todays post, be a follower and I'll draw a winner on 1st June - what can you win - its a stamp and die set from sizzix:

Today I want to share with you a piece of messy art that i so enjoyed making - I got my distress paints and inks out and had lots of fun. I followed a sketch from Scrap 365 -

Here's what I did:

I

I started out with a plain white piece of paper and added distress paints in blues and browns to a craft mat - spritzed with water and swooshed the paper through. Once dry I added festive berrie DI and filled in many of the white spaces. Next I used DI to create the other bars of paper and stamped one with CB honey bee stamps. Then I used my cut pieces of potato to stamp blue stars - in distress paint, and brown hexagons - in ink from an ink pad. Next I did some more stamping on the background to create the smaller hexagons and also the bees. I followed the sketch and put the layout together then fussy cut some flowers that I had stamped and added the title. Such fun! I loved making this! The picture is, of course, my Lucy - she was at the top of the hill at st Michaels mount in Cornwall - it was a very windy day and she was trying to be heard!!! Bless her!

I would like to enter this layout into the following challenges

Thanks for dropping by today - remember if you leave a message you can go into the draw to win the stamp and die set!

memories are made of this! - and a torn gelli plate!

Hi there! How are you? I hope you are well! We had a good day at mum and dads yesterday and managed an hour in the park before the rain became too heavy! We're back there again today - got to take the parentals to do their shopping - I'm not very fond of this job when the kids are off school but its a necessity. Hopefully it won't take too long!!!

Today i have a scrapbook page to share with you - I am a lapsed scrapper - but really feel the need to start catching up a bit. I've also got a card to share with you following Barbara Grays Tuesday U tube torn gelli plate film - Cool!

First off- the scrapbook page - when the sunday stamper's theme this week was Memories I immediately thought of scrapbooking and the first photos that came to hand were from my eldest daughter Lucy's 6th birthday. I followed a sketch from scrap365 and this is what I did:

The pink card is from coordinations and I started by adding the diamond pattern on it using a mask from imagination crafts and some distress ink applied using cut and dry foam.  Next I added the photographs.

Then i turned to diecutting and used a TH fluorish die and a TH lattice framework die.

Finally I stamped up the title bar then added the flowers - from moulds and Utee in the melt pot - and also the stars that I was sent when I won a candy from Heather from the House mouse challenge. Thanks heather xx.

I'd like to enter this layout into:

scrap365: Sketch
Sunday stamperpinkleart : Memories

Next up is my first attempt at Barbara Grays 3 layer torn gelli plate technique - this is a clever one and I like it - you can see it here.

its not quite up to barbaras' standard but not bad i think for a first effort! I shall be playing with this idea I think!!!

Hope you have enjoyed your visit - thanks for coming and please come back again soon!

Big Hugs rachel xx
