Inspired by the funkie Junkie 12 tags of christmas bonus tag 2

Hello there! Did you have a good weekend? We were fairly quiet - yesterday I made a big pot of soup in the morning - all helps with the healthy eating that needs to kick in big time!!! In the afternoon I took Penny to her rehersal - she's got a couple of small roles in the village production of Alice in Wonderland. It takes place at the end of January so rehersals will be coming thick and fast now ...... and I'm painting scenery! Lol!!!!

Today I'd like to share a card/tag with you that I made in response to the 2nd bonus tag over at the Funkie Junkie's 12 tags of Christmas Challenge - you can see Linda's 2nd bonus tag here. The challenge has been such fun - do try to get involved next year. Its sponsored by  the funkie junkieboutique and there are great prizes plus participants get a code for money off an order to the store.

I made this card by cutting down an A4 sheet of card and scoring at intervals to create a flap and a folded card. Then I stamped the chocolate baroque snowflake that was from Craft stamper magazine in versa and heat set with clear embossing powder. Then I used distress inks to create the colours and the snowflakes resisted the ink. On the lower part of the front I added black gloss embossing paste from dreamweaver through a mask by that special touch. Once dry I added the ribbon, lace and flower and sentiment stamps inside and out.

I would like to enter this into the following challenges:

The weather is looking awful today so I think I may be going to class rather than running this morning - then I've got the term of rainbows sessions to plan! Oh and the cleaning to do! No crafting for me until tonight I think!!! Hope you have a great day! Stay dry and warm!

Inspired by the first extra week at the Funkie Junkie 12 tags of Christmas

Hello there! How are you? I hope you are well and happy! Things are starting to get back to normal around here - we took the Christmas tree down yesterday so the house has that bare feeling! Still I quite like that!

Today I'd like to share with you a tag I made for the thefunkiejunkie challenge-12-tags-of-christmas bonus tag 1 which is sponsored by the thefunkiejunkie boutique.  Linda's original tag is here - I love this one but didn't have any frosted film or the holly die - so I used my mums marianne holly die and made this: I was particularly inspired by the holly, the paint splatters and the red gingham bow.

I started with a kraft tag from ranger and stuck 4 diecut holly branches to it using cosmic shimmer glue. Then I covered the whole tag with cosmic shimmer gold pearl texture paste and left this to dry. I added some of the same texture paste to some modge podge moulds to make the birds and left these to dry. Then I splattered the green holly branch with white paint and when dry added this and the white holly branch to the tag. I stamped the sentiment - from inkylicious - then added the bow and the pearls. Finally I added the birds.

I'd like to enter this into the following challenges:

Inspired by the Funkie Junkie 12 tags of Christmas week 11

Good morning to you! How are you? I hope you are well and that your preparations for Christmas are coming along fine. I'm starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel - woohoo - so glad!!!! I did lots of wrapping yesterday - so now it will be just the last minute things - brilliant!

I've got a card to show you today that has lots of glitter and sparkle on it - I made it for the thefunkiejunkie challenge-12-tags-of-christmas - week 11 sponsored by the thefunkiejunkie Boutique.  Linda's original tag can be found by following the link - I've been inspired by the colours, the deer, the snowflakes and the sparkle not forgetting the sheet music! This tag of Linda's is my favourite so far - gorgeous work Linda!

I started with the card blank and coloured it with distress inks then ran it through a musical notes embossing folder from Crafters Companion. The diecut trees and snowflakes (also Crafters Companion) were cut next and the deer (TH). Then I brayered the deer with antique bronze sparkle medium from Imagination Crafts and the trees with diamond sparkle medium from Imagination crafts and left to dry.  I stamped the Sheena douglass sentiment in versamark and heat set with brass regular wow powders. Once everything was dry I assembled the card.

I'd like to enter this card into the following challenges:

Inspired by Funkie Junkie 12 tags of Christmas week 10 and a commenters candy

Good morning to you lovely people! How are you today? I hope you are well and feeling happy! It was such a beautiful day here yesterday - full of blue skies and crispness - perfect for a run with my friend sue - when I got home I made peanut butter cookies - they're delicious!!! Great for replenishing that lost energy - lol!!!! Thanks for all your kind comments on yesterdays card - and also Penny's piccie. I've got one to show you of Lucy today - she was a princess/eastern dancer.

I'm afraid I'm responsible for those eyes - they were meant to look egyptian!!!! I couldn't get one of her during the play - she seemed to spend most of the time out of view!

Today I've got a card to share with you inspired by tag 10 of Linda's tags over at the Funkie Junkie 12 tags of Christmas challenge sponsored by the thefunkiejunkie Boutique. You can see Linda's original tag here - I took inspiration from the holly background, the bow and the focal sentiment plus the script in the background.

To make my card I used a kraft card blank and stamped over the back in teadye DI with a script stamp. Then I used an imaginationcrafts Holly Border mask and worked pine needles DI through the mask using cut and dry foam. Next I coloured the berries red then added the sentiment which is from pinflair and was cut with a spellbinders die. Then I added the bow and the poinsettia.

I'd like to  enter this card into thefunkiejunkie challenge-12-tags-of-christmas week 10.

I also have a commenters candy to share with you today. Celebrating my GDT spot at That Craft Place I have some of their lovely goodies to give away to one of you. They have so many wonderful items - why not have a browse at the shop here .... They are also super friendly and helpful!  Here's the candy:

The candy consists of a mask, two diecut hearts, three trinkets, two metallic tags and some lace.

If you would like to be in with a chance of winning this candy you need to be a follower and leave a comment on this post. I will draw a winner on Wednesday 18th December and hopefully get it in the post to reach you before Christmas - post willing of course!

Thanks for dropping by today and I hope to see you again soon! Big Hugs Rachel xx

Inspired by the Funkie Junkie week 9

Hello there! How are you? Good I hope! Well I did something yesterday that I've been toying with for a while .... I took out membership of the Great North run - that means that I get a guaranteed place for the next three years! Woohoo! I'll still be able to fund raise but not have to have a certain target to reach - which will considerably relieve the pressure at a time when things are tough! I just hope its not something I live to regret!!!

Well today I've made a card inspired by the thefunkiejunkie-12-tags-of-christmas challenge week 9 that you can see by following the link. This is a fabulous challenge and is sponsored by the thefunkiejunkie boutique. I've taken inspiration from the blue and silver and the flowers and hearts - I think thats about where the similarities end!

I made the background using faded jeans and tumbled glass distress inks blending them together using cut and dry foam. Then I did some stamping with a script block - in stormy sky and dried everything. Next I used versa and some sparkling silver wow powders to create the snowflakes then cut the flower using tattered florals and the leaves in tims foil tape from the tattered leaves. The hearts are wooden shapes that I've had for ages - about three years - I coloured  them with a silver ink pad. The Merry Christmas is a peel off!!!!

I'd like to enter this card into the following challenges:

thefunkiejunkie12 tags of Christmas week 9
simon says stamp wednesday challengesimonsaysstampblog: Make your own background
fab n funkyfabnfunkychallenges: a touch of frost
rhedd and rosiesrheddandrosies: Use old stash - my wooden hearts are about 3 years old!
Divasdivasbydesignchallenge: Feeling festive
mmcsmymumscraftshop: Christmas/winter

Hope you have a great day - its going to be another manic one for me today - I've agreed to help the brownies make christmas cards tonight and  me being me I've designed cards with diecuts involved - now after finally cutting 26 large snowflakes,  and 15 sets of three trees I still have another 11 sets of trees and 26 snowmen to do - should be a fun morning then!!! Lol! Hope you have a great day and I'll hopefully see you again soon! Big Hugs !

Inspired by Funkie Junkie week 6 from the 12 tags of Christmas

Hello there! How are you? Very good I hope and keeping wrapped up in this cold snap. I can't believe all the snow that has been flying around on pictures in blogland - we've not had any yet - thank goodness! Just to report that Lucy had a great day too - she loved the canoe raft and the tree climbing and was absolutely shattered by the time she came home! So she'll sleep tonight - not sure about the other one though - she's lost her first tooth so is lying in wait for the tooth fairy I think!!!!!

Todays card is inspired by the tag here from Linda Coughlin of the thefunkiejunkie 12-tags-of-christmas challenge sponsored by the thefunkiejunkie Boutique. I was inspired by the plaid and the number , the gold bow and the red cardinals and also the tree.

The paper is from LOTV - the winter wishes pad - and the birds are cut using spellbinders dies. The trees are cut using a die'sire die and then brayered with sparkle medium (diamond) from Imagination Crafts. The numbers have been cut using a cuttlebug die set and the banner is a spellbinders die - I stamped the diecut with a script stamp. Then just added the lace.

I'd like to enter this card into the Funkie Junkie challenge week 6 thefunkiejunkie and also

tag inspired by week 5 at the funkie Junkie

Good morning peeps! I hope I'm asleep when this blog post goes live as I will have had an evening out at friends last night - and I'm not driving so a lie in will definitely be called for.

I've got a tag to share with you today inspired by week 5 of the 12 tags of christmas over at the Funky Junkie sponsored by the funkie junkie boutique. This is my first year of entering the challenge but I must say I'm loving every minute of it. This is what I did:

My tag includes background paper from the LOTV winter paper pad and the stamp is a Tim Holtz one simply stamped in sepia archival. I've mounted this onto diecut and torn cardboard to reveal the corrugation. The deer is also a Tim Holtz die and the stars are metal stars . I've used distress ink around the edges of the tag - walnut stain I think - and also added lace. The tag is a size 10 tag.

I'd like to enter this tag into the following challenges:

Funkie Junkie week 5thefunkiejunkie
sweet stampinsweetstampinchallengeblog - tags
charismacharismacardz: vintage
The artistic stamper challenge Novtheartisticstampercreativeteam: Christmas

Thanks for looking today - and for any comments you choose to leave. Since I've been so lucky on the blogs recently I thought I'd pass some goodness onto you lovely people so look out for a followers candy coming some time next week!  - have a great Sunday! hugs rachel xx
