A WOW card with WOW powders

Good morning lovelies! How are you? I hope you're well! The weather here has gone yuk - I went for a run yesterday in horrible wind and rain - not looking forward to that becoming the norm!  I did get a lovely piece of news yesterday though - I got a top 3 in the Craft Stamper make it take it acetate challenge - wonderful - I'm thrilled to bits as I love the magazine. And Lucy and Penny both got glowing results from school at parents evening too.

Onto today - well I was lucky enough to win the WOW powders challenge last month and got 6 wow powders through the post on Friday - I had to have a play and thought I would try something for the current challenge of stars and stripes. Here's what I did:

It was quite difficult to photograph this one - so sorry about that. I made the thick stripes by dragging versamark over my card front then adding white opaque WOW powders and heat setting. The finer stripes were made using a versamark pen that I just ran across the page then added sparkling white wow powder then heat set. The stars were cut using X cut dies and stamped with some LOTV stamps in versamark and added sparkling white and heat set again. The sentiment is also LOTV.  Its very different for me but \I did enjoy doing this! Its always good to play!!!

I'd like to enter this card into the following challenges:

Morning lovely bloggers. I do hope you are well. I'm fighting fit and ready to go running today - wonderful how the body manages to recover isn't it? I had a lovely meal yesterday with my mum and dad - it was their 53rd wedding anniversary and we went to their local carvery. It was yum and a real treat! Oh yes - and I finally got the finishers photo from Sundays race. What do you think?

Jane's card

Good morning all! Hope you are well. We are all fighting fit and surviving the change back to the old school routine. Lucy is really enjoying juniors - and Penny seems a little more focused too. Its all good after two days - lol!

Today I've got the first of my cards from the new Sheena Douglass stamp sets to show you - a little bit magical. I just adore these stamps but due to finances not being what they ought I had to wait until 1st September to get these ordered and so when they arrived on Wednesday I was very keen to ink them up and get playing. The stamps I've used today are from the honesty set but I've also used a friend sentiment from LOTV.

The card has been made with my sister in law Jane in mind. She likes historical novels but also favours magical and mystical stories and films- so I thought this would be a good idea. I've used a woodgrain embossing folder from darice and embossed some lilac centura pearl card - I then used treasure gold to highlight the grain. The lady was stamped in black archival then I added clear embossing powders and heat set the ink before painting her with cosmic shimmer paints. The main part of the card was created using distress inks - seedless preserves, spun sugar, milled lavender and dusty concorde - all blended together. Once dried I stamped the corners with versamark and added brass regular embossing powder from WOW powders and heat set. I repeated the process with the sentiment. Then I cut everything to size and mounted onto black card and finally onto lilac centura pearl card.

I'd like to enter this card into the following challenges:
Crafters Companioncrafterscompanion: Embossing (I've dome heat and dry)
WOW Powderswowembossingpowder: Decadence
Tuesday Throwdowntuesdaythrowdown - best friends
Sunday Stamperpinkleart - friends
allsortsallsortschallenge - sentimental

Here's the last couple of holiday snaps to show you - these are from Lanhydrock which is a National Trust property near Bodmin.

This final one is from Kynance Cove on the Lizard Peninsula.

Thats it for today - thanks for dropping by - its always great to hear what you think!
