Time to take flight at Stamps and stencils

Good morning! How are you? I hope you are well and happy! Today its time for a new challenge to start over at stamps and stencils and the theme is time to take flight. Here's what Sue had to say about this challenge.

For this challenge I would like to see anything relating to flying, so this could be a bird or a butterfly or it could be an inspirational quote that includes words relating to flying ! As always, please remember we are a mixed media challenge and you must include either stamping or stenciling or both !

I had just been asked by a friend to make a card for her so I used the theme from tis piece of work! Here's my final piece and I have a step by step below.

Here's my steps ....

Firstly I spread grunge paste through n indigo blu stencil....

once dry I painted with aladdin metallic paint from indigo blu ...

Next I stamped and coloured an indigoblu dinkie butterfly and coloured in watered down cottage paints and fussy cut them.

Next I used distress stains to create a background...

I used a TH die and embossing folder to cut three more butterflies and added clear candy crackle.

Once dry I added more stain which defined the crackle.

I added treasure gold to the roses ....

Then added a TH stamped sentiment and all the butterflies.

My friend was very pleased with the card! I hope you like it too and will join us in this months challenge.

Hugs

Rachel xx

  13. Absolutely stunning! Seriously love this one Rachel, wonderful use of colour and awesome texture too. You are a natural at this mixed media malarky, lol, have enjoyed looking at your Tim tags too. I have decided that I will have to take Tim's first two chemistry courses at some point this year and then this latest one. I am trying to get all the supplies I need for them before starting. Have a lovely weekend huni xx
