A Triptych!

Hello Lovelies .... how are you today? I hope you are well and if not sending you hugs. I'm hoping for a good run today - I had a good swim yesterday - not quite a mile but more then a kilometer! Not bad! Hopefully I do the mile again soon!

Today I would like to share with you a triptych that I have altered using mostly paperartsy goodies bought from Port Sunny. The triptych itself is huge - over 12 inches tall in the middle and was a gift from the lovely jo - thanks Jo - I know its taken me a long time to do this but i think it was worth the wait!!!!

I started by coating the MDF with smurf blue opaque paint. when dry I started stencilling  with snowflake white opaque paint using a mixed leaf stencil from paperartsy.

Next I used translucent blue glass paint over the white leaves to tone the white down. Then I added some white dots and tango dots using another paperartsy stencil. I also stenciled the orange flowers.

I used another stencil and applied grunge paste through it then allowed this to dry - then I stamped onto it using a paperarsty stamp which I then painted. I also stamped in some white paint the starbursts and stamped the leaves too. Then I painted the leaves and waited for the whole thing to dry.

Finally I typed the first verse of John Keats Endymion then cut them up and added to the pieces using glue and seal.

and voila! it was finished!!!

I would like to enter this into the following challenges:

Hope you have a great wednesday!

Big hugs

A tag and a Journal page.

Hello lovelies - how are you? I'm good - I enjoyed coffee pot and so did the ladies - they all liked the crazy birds! Whats not to like eh???? Thanks for your kind words - you are all lovely!!!!

So today I've got the result of my first play with my new goodies from Port Sunny - some paperartsy paints and a visible image stamp.

First of all I made up the background - I did a wash of hey pesto translucent then stencilled on some foliage and barbed wire using snowflake opaque paint. Once dry I added more of the hey pesto and this toned down the white.

Once dry I stamped the visible image flowers and stalk and added the edges and words using a visible image stamp from craft stamper magazine. I used black archival  to stamp these all. Fabulous - I think they'd look awesome on orange!!!!

I'd like to enter this into the following challenges:

Now for my latest journal page.

I did this using brushos - I sprinkled dry crystals onto dry paper then sprayed with water. The stencilling was added afterwards - the stencil is from stencil girl. I used black embossing paste from dreamweaver.

Hope you have a great time today - enjoy whatever you do!!!

Big hugs

Coffee pot: male and sprays!

Morning all! I hope you are well and happy! I'm off to coffee pot today after a run. The ask this time was masculine cards - and use sprays! So here's what I've made for the ladies to have a go at - not sure what they'll think of Tims crazy birds but I couldn't help myself!!!

This is the choice!

On all of them I used distress stain sprays - in iced spruce, mermaid lagoon, cracked pistachio, faded jeans and seedless preserves. In all of them I used the Crazy Birds. In this one I also used a tim stencil, distress inks and tape plus timmy sentiment and a tim arrow.

In these two I used a clarity aperture stencil to create the oval - everything else is the same.

I do hope the ladies enjoy them.

I would like to enter these into the challenge at fashionablestampingchallenges-97-things-with-wings.

Here's some pictures from the bluebell walk me and bez and the girls had with our neighbour Dennis yesterday.

It was a lovely walk but I think we were a week early! Maybe I'll get chance to go again soon!

Have a great Monday!

Hugs

a wonderful day - and some village scenes.

Hello Lovelies! Well it was a wonderful day for me yesterday - I got to see lots of you lovely blog buddies (Jo, Anne, Mo and linda), spent a fortune on crafty goodies and had a tea with my dad who was 81! What a wonderful day!!! Pictures soon - first here's my makes for Christmas Card Club - the lovely Rita chose a wonderful theme - a village scene!!! Thanks Rita - loved doing this one!

This first one used a set of sheena stamps from the old days when she was with creative expressions. I've used masks and coloured with spectrum noir pencils.

This is another sheena stamp, coloured with spectrum noir pencils and mounted onto a piece of black card run through an embossing folder (also figgy lane), then had gilding wax rubbed over it.

Finally this is a creata card die I used from Crafters Companion.

So back to yesterday - Port Sunlight was wonderful as ever - think I might take the train next time though - I found the drive very stressful! Here's some of the goodies that slipped into my shopping basket :

woohoo - a bumper visit to paperartsy - loved watching sue carringtom demo - awesome!!!

Goodies from Indigo Blu, visible image and stamps away. Had a good chat to Mark from Visible image - what a nice man! And Kay's hair from Indigo Blu looked amazing - I thought she was somebody else entirely.

Goodies from Crafty Individuals and Lavinia! OMG when am I going to get the time to use all this new stuff??? Lol!!!! Very naughty but much fun!!!!

And then it was off to my mum and dads for tea:

Happy Birthday to my lovely dad - 81 yesterday! Bless him!!

Thats all for today!! Have a good one!

Hugs rachel x

Port Sunlight - here I come!

Hello lovelies - just a quick post today - I'm off to port sunlight and hoping to catch up with a few of you there!!!!

My units - well the saga continues - the same piece was missing from my second unit too - it meant I was able to complete one unit but they're shipping two central dividers to me and hopefully if they come on Monday it will mean I get the second one built too!

A quick card today using Sheena stamps!

This was my attempt at a card for Craftstamper! Failed again but hey ho! I enjoyed making it and I got to play with my distress marker spritzer again!

Big Hugs and I hope you have a great day!

Blinking units!!!!

Hello Lovelies - how are you? I'm good although my units didn't arrive until 3pm yesterday - just before I had to pick the girls up for their crazy evening of dancing and brownies. Okay so I managed to get the first box of units up into the attic - didn't realise it was flatpack - which made it getting it up there easy. I got most of the assembly done before I realised that one piece was missing - I'm hoping to find it in the other box - but don't hold your breath! Lol! You've got to laugh!

I did a second entry for the Indigo blu challenge. I was watching Jenny Marples on the British Craft Network and I saw her stamping with flitterglu and adding flakes - that was my inspiration for this piece:

I stamped the big butterfly from indigo blu first - masked it then used distress inks to create the background.

Then I added the limor circles (also indigo blu) with flitterglu (indigo blu) and added winter dawn flake (indigo blu).

It looks  cool to me - love this - thanks jenny for the memory jog!

The sentiment is by chocolate baroque.

I'd like to enter this into the following challenges:

I've also just done up a distress paint holder from Stamps Away. I used Tim Holtz wallflower papers.

It'll look nice sitting on my units once they are made!!!!

Big hugs and have a great day!

Playing with stamps and stencils

Hello lovelies - how are you? I hope you are fine and happy. Did you have a good day yesterday? We were all very good - although my run was extremely soggy!!! Nevermind - its a few more miles in the bank!!!

Today I have to wait in for a delivery from the storage for crafts people. I'm hoping that finally I can get my craft room sorted out - assuming I can get the unit into the attic - lol!!! It should fit though the hatch but it may be quite heavy!!! I'll let you know how that goes.

So I've been playing with two clarity stamps and a TH stencil - here's what I made:

I started off by stamping the very joyful image in versamark - then added black wow powders and heatset. Next I added a stencil with an oval aperture and applied more versamark to the the base and again heat set black wow powders.

With the stencil still in place I coloured the top of the picture in butterscotch using clarity stencil brushes. Then  I overlaid the tim holtz stencil and applied wild raspberry adirondack ink again using a stencil brush. I used my black zig pen to outline the oval And stamped the Joy stamp.

Then I matted and layed and repeated the Tim stencil direct to the base card.

I'd like to enter this into the following challenges:

Have a great Thursday and thanks for popping by!

Big hugs
