bling bling mermaid and a crafty day out!

Good morning to all my crafty friends and followers. Now before I get onto my card for today I'd just like to share with you a picture of the goodies I bought in Doncaster - it was such a fab day out - I'll definitely go again.
In the top left you can see what I did for a free make and take with imagination crafts - using a template and their sparkle medium - it was very easy to do! Expect to see more of this soon! Lots of things to alter - lots of metal charms and bits and bobs - and I even got a marianne birdcage die for £2.99 that they were selling elsewhere for £10! Brilliant.

So onto today's card - its one I've made to send as a thankyou card to the staff at quick cards for judging my olympics card as a runner up in their recent competition. The background is from one of the paperstash library books that were part of my prize.

The image is, of course Saturated Canary - I do think she's such a stunner that when I saw the challenged bling it out I immediately thought of her! I've also used more of the paperstash library card to do the inside of my card - just matted and layered - very simple.

I'd like to enter this card into the following challenges:
DYSUdoyoustackup: Cool Colours
fussyandfancychallenge: Photo inpiration (the image is for the sea bit and the shells for the beach)
thepoodlesparlour: Use a digi

Okay - I think that's all for now - Looking forward to showing you tomorrow's card for the new LEJ challenge.

Big hugs and thanks for dropping by and for any comments you may choose to leave.

Hugs

DT post for the crafty pad: paper piecing

Good morning all! I'm scheduling this post for Sunday morning so I hope everything works out ok. The week has rolled around again - where does the time go? - and its time for a new challenge over at The Crafty Pad here. If you entered last week be sure to check back around Thursday for the winners and top 5 - there were some really fabulous entries last week! The theme this week is Paper piecing and this was chosen by Ali. We have the lovely Marianne of mariannescraftroom as our GDT and our sponsors are Meiflower.
The prize this week is a fabulous £20 to spend in the Meiflower store here.

So here's my card for your inspiration. I've used the Crafty Pad's Sammy plus one of their circular sentiments that you can find in store here.

I've used paper scraps from the printing out of sammy a few times (for piecing) to make a patchwork background and base. The flowers are from wildorchidcrafts. There are some fabulous projects over at The Crafty Pad - so take a look!

I'd like to enter Sammy into the following challenges:

thesisterhoodofcrafters: Lets hear it for the boys
totallypapercrafts: Lots of layers
fatpageswithattitude: Anything goes
disdigidesignschallenge: Come pile on those flowers
365cards: colour scheme

That's all for today! Back tomorrow and I'll tell you all about Doncaster!

Big Hugs

gothic girl dream

Good morning all of my crafty friends and followers - I hope you are all well? I am feeling good - I had a fab outdoor circuit training class last night followed by a short run - and its made me feel great!
I'm so excited about this card that I've got to share with you today - it was born out of a browse through the scrapbook stamp society digis - I just saw the eyes and had to have them! I hope you like it as much as I do!

So this is what I did - the background is a piece of Tim Holtz distress pad paper further distressed with black soot and stamped on using an archway ( is it a gothic arch?) done by sheena douglass when she was with creative expressions. The digi was merely printed out and mounted up on black card. The flowers were hand made using the bitty blossoms dies - large and small - with black soot added to their edges once they had dried in position. The butterfly came from barbara gray's last lesson on create and craft using film and fibre and its layered up as barbara showed us. The dream came from my stash and the final arch was just stamped and cut out and attached using dimensional glue.

I'd like to enter this into the following challenges:

letsinkitup: all girl (I have used two rubber stamps and a digi - I hope that should be ok).
PMSpapermakeupstamps: Monochromatic
CYPCcraftyourpassionchallenges: Gone gothic
Sunday Stamperpinkleart: Dream
Simon says stamp and showsimonsaysstampandshow: Layers
Whoopsi daisycutedaisymay: make your own embellishments
whimsyinspires: Monochromatic.

I'm off to Doncaster to the crafting show tomorrow - looking forward to having a good browse and spending the day with my crafty mum!!! I have a couple of spare tickets if anyone is going but hasn't got theirs yet - I won't get there until about 10.30 though - give me a shout if you'd like them and we can try and meet up so I can pass them on!

Have a wonderful Friday and a super crafty weekend - back on Sunday with DT work for the Crafty Pad! Thanks in advance for any comments you may choose to leave!

feeling fruity?

Good morning all! I hope you are all well and happy? I'm feeling very happy because I got a prize from quick cards in the post yesterday - I was a runner up in their sporting competition and won some MCS stuff - looking forward to having a play.

Also it was my final Rainbows for the summer last night - it was sad to say bye to those joining brownies but we had fun and played some games - and the facepainting was okay - but there's room for improvement!!!!

I'd like to share my card for the house mouse challenge with you - the challenge is called feeling fruity and I managed to scamble around in my stash to find this stamp and colour it in. Then I printed the papers from my HM CD rom and also used some papers that came free with one of the magazines a while ago.

I used the sketch from the friday sketch challenge too.

I'd like to enter this card into the following challenges:

fridaysketchchallenge: sketch 21 by Carole
housemouse-challenge- feeling fruity
simonsaysstampschallenge: feeling fruity
tuesdayalchemy - no work just play
papertakeweekly - strawberries and cream (mines raspberries!)
trulymadlycraftychallenges challenges: animals

I think that's all for today - I've got a fab one lined up for tomorrow - but you're going to have to wait! Happy Thursday and thanks for dropping by!

Anyway - here's today's card - a super cute LOTV image - all ready for their anything goes challenge.

My card follows the sketch over at the sparkles christmas challenge and I've also made it using a tag.

I'd like to enter my card into the following challenges:

Must get on - sorry for the brevity of this post and I hope it finds you all well and happy!

DT Post for LEJ Designs

Good morning! Its Tuesday so its time for a new challenge over  here at LEJ Designs challenge blog.

This week the theme is 'animals' and I've got a card to share with you made using one of Lyndsay's digis from her shop which you can find here.

First to the house keeping: the challenge runs for a week and there are two prizes. The first prize is any three digis of your choice from her store.
The second prize this week is £5.00 to spend in the Crafty Embellies store at http://craft-embelies.weebly.com/

Just a reminder too - if you use one of Lyndsay's digis in the challenge you go into a draw to win some more - can't be bad eh?

So here's my card using the image Lazy Lion:

I've made the card for the staff at the nursery where both my girls have gone and where my youngest will be leaving in just over a weeks time - they really have been wonderful but I wanted to make a child like card for them given the natre of the business!

In addition to lyndsay's lion image I've used a spellbinders die and the paper scraps came in a free stack from a magazine some time ago. I just cut then to 5cm squares, glued them together then used some stitching stamps I have to give the effect of quilting.

I'd like to enter this card into the following challenges:
joannasheenchallenge - Going round in circles
thepoodlesparlour - cute and cuddly
scrapitwithasong: the wild ones
thatcraftplaceblog: anything goes.

Hope to see you all again soon. Big Hugs

pretty pigtail girl

Good morning all  (just!). I hope you all had a good weekend? I've had a fab weekend with my daughters' shows and also two top threes and a lucky win! Its hot here today - really sticky but curently dry - I'm hoping it stays that way as my eldest daughter Lucy has a school trip today in Grizedale forest - it'll be good for her to get some fresh air!

Enough of my whittering on - I've got a card to share with you today that I'm really chuffed with - the image is from sugar nellie digi collection - and I think she's adorable!

I've used Fiona's sketch for this fortnight over at the sugar bowl and added a friend sentiment to make my card suitable for aud sentiments. The red colour reflects the DYSU challenge and the whole card suits the theme for the willow sketchie challenge - I didn't use the sketch - hope thats ok.
So I would like to enter my card into the following challenges:
sugarbowlblog: Fiona's sketch
DYSUdoyoustackup: Red
Aud sentimentsaudsentimentschallengeblog: Friend
willowsketchiechallenge: theme summer florals
thatcraftplaceblog: Anything goes.
lexiscreations:For a friend

Thanks for any comments you may leave - and I'll be back tomorrow with another LEJ challenge DT post!

Big Hugs
