robins at christmas card club

Good Morning lovelies! How are you? Did you have a good Saturday? We did - we went for a swim and then up to Kendal to search for wallpaper - we managed to get some for Lucy's bedroom! Its a start - the decorator won't be starting until december so we have plenty of time to find the right papers but I do feel it takes time! Good to get started! Then we went to my mums - it was lovely to see my mum and dad! They are so lovely.

So today the theme at Christmas card club is robins - I seem to have misplaced my sheena robin stamp so I couldn't use that - so I looked through my drawers and found a sheena embossing folder that i used for one card and an indigo blu stamp that i used for the other.

Both cards have included a Clarity word chain sentiment.

This one is all an embossing folder - apart from the poinsettia - coloured with distress inks and pens. The poinsettia is from a TH die.

I stamped this one then masked the robin and used DI to make the background. Then i coloured the robin using distress pens. The main background is a layering stencil from TH with festive berries DI.

I would like to enter this into the following challenges:

We're off to IKEA today - hoping to pick up Penny's mattress and no doubt a few other things! I'll let you know tomorrow!!!

 Big hugs

Rachel xx

  6. Two gorgeous cards Rachel, a great idea to use the embossing folder instead of the stamp. I know just what you mean about finding the right wallpaper, we found one for our bedroom (to go on one wall only) after ptutting up I and 1/2 roll we could see that there was a flaw in the paper and had to take it all down again. Then had to go and find another (this has gone up perfectly and I think I prefer it).

  14. Two fab cards using different techniques . l like the background for the second card. Good luck with the decorating. I'm waiting for our decorator to come back and finish our spare bedroom. It is half done where the new run of cupboards have been put in so the walls are green behind me and purple in the front. hugs to you and the girls. Mrs A.

  20. Rachel, each one is just so pretty. I love the look of your robins, they look a bit different from the robins I see in our yard. Your DI coloring is just so pretty, and I love the background touches on each of the cards. And also that gorgeous Nordic EF - glad you were able to enjoy a swim (brrr..bet it was cold!) and also great that you found the perfect wallpaper. Have a great upcoming week, and TFS.
