The real reason for the season at Christmas card club

Hello lovelies - how are you? We're okay - I managed a good long run on Friday - paying for it now but it felt good to achieve that. The girls are okay - I'll certainly be better once Tuesday is over. I keep trying to tell myself its a chance to celebrate Shaun's life which I know it is but it all feels so wrong because it shouldn't be like this - he should still be with us blessing us with his wonderful smile. Don't worry though - we'll get through it.

I managed to make a trio of cards for the latest christmas card club challenge - two are the same design and there is one other:

The one that I made two of includes use of a TH layering stencil, distress inks - wild honey and ripe persimmon and a clarity stamp plus a clarity word chain stamp. Its not a standard Christmas card but I like it.

The other one uses a Lili of the Valley stamp coloured with spectrum noir pencils:

I hope you like my efforts! Thankyou again to all you lovely people who comment on my blog and to those of you who have very kindly sent cards/flowers. I really do appreciate it. Thankyou!

Big hugs to you!

Rachel x

  1. Pleased to hear you did a run this week Rachel, one of my gang asked me if you had managed one lately, sure you will get back into it and it will help you focus. It was the Tring to Town (called something different now but can't remember exactly what) but only Zoe did it this year, the rest are all carrying injuries. She was third lady this year (first last) but still a hero to us finishing 40 miles cross Country.

Sorry to waffle, I shall be thinking about you all on Tuesday, it's bound to be so difficult but it will give you some sort of closure so you can slowly look forward and pray the happier memories will help you get through.

  20. Hi Rachel life is certainly very unfair and never seems to have any rhyme or reason. No words will take away the pain of your loss of your beloved Shaun only time will gradually ease the pain. You are so strong and I am sure you draw a lot of your strength from your beautiful daughters. Sending you big hugs and I am thinking of you all and hope the next few days are manageable for you. Your cards are lovely and I love the effect with the stencil. Big hugs Susan xx

  22. Rachel, Prayers & hugs for you & your sweet girls on Tuesday. It will be difficult, but you are celebrating Shaun's life and another stage of life. You have been so unbelievably strong and I'm glad you got out for a run. Your cards are so beautiful. The background rays were so glorious against the sweet image, and certainly made the Nativity silhouette just pop. I always love the LOTV images, and your coloring was wonderful. I'm so glad you can ease things just a bit with your crafting. Know that many people are sending you positive thoughts & prayers. Keep on letting people help you get through this difficult time. TFS & Hugs.
