Hello Lovelies. How are you? I hope you are well and happy - sending hugs to those that need it. We're all okay - I had a very relaxed day yesterday - I did a swim then went out for lunch with my friend Julie. We went to a garden centre and I bought a new bird feeder. Our old bird table was blown over in the last batch of winds - Shaun always loved the birds in the garden and fed them religiously. Now its my turn to look after them - I thought he would approve of the new feeder. I also got some Niger seeds ad am hoping that the gold finches tat we have had visit in previous years may return now! Will keep you posted.
Well I'm a day early with this post but since its the first tomorrow I have an IC post for then. So here I am with the next batch of three Christmas cards.
They are all pretty CAS.
This one uses darkroom door stamps and a Tim layering stencil.

Rachel, so glad to read that the three of you are doing ok. What a lovely idea to replace your bird feeder and carry on doing what Shaun loved doing so much. Heres hoping your finches return, we have them come Charlie to loves nothing more than keeping the feeders full and watching to see what comes into the garden, our pair of woodpeckers are coming nonstop at the moment.
ReplyDeleteThree wonderful cards Rachel, they are all truely lovely. Enjoy the weekend, have you fun things on this weekend?? Hazel x
It's lovely to watch the birds feeding in the garden Rachel, Shaun would have thoroughly approved. We have several feeding stations around the gardens and it's nice to keep a tally of what comes. This year the Greater Spotted Woodpecker has ventured to the peanuts for the first time, usually he watches from a distance.
ReplyDeleteAnd I like the idea nothing is wasted as although the smaller birds scatter the seeds, the doves, pigeons and jays feed from the ground and the moorhen family (not numbering five) wander down from the top pond and join in.
Enough of my yatter, lovely collection of card.

A super collection of Christmas cards Rachel, such a jolly Santa in al of your cards. I'm sure that Shaun will love to know that you are continuing to feed the birds. I love seeing them in the garden to but had to stop feeding them when I had a rat who was visiting the table daily and eating all of the seed. Since I stopped he does not visit anymore.
ReplyDeleteHug to you all

Your cards are beautiful Rachel, you are going to be well ahead for Christmas this year - all the Santas are lovely.
ReplyDeleteHow wonderful to be able to attract finches to the garden! We get sparrows, robins and ringed doves - finches would be lovely... and yes, I am sure Shaun would have approved, it was a lovely thought on your part. It was good too that you went out for lunch with your friend. Hope you are having a good weekend. Love and hugs, Anne xxx

Hi Rachel glad you had a great day ..a lot of our garden things have been damaged in the wind but hey ho you can't fight mother nature lol fab cards really gorgeous ..huggles Sue xx
ReplyDeleteEach card is wonderful Rachel! So happy to hear you having some good times, keep it up!
ReplyDeleteThree wonderful cards Rachel and you are getting a good head start for next Christmas. Lovely idea to keep up with the feeder. We have starlings that swarm past our house first thing in the morning when its light and then back again in the evening during the Autumn/Winer. There are hundreds and hundreds and I get so excited when I see them. Evidently they sleep under the pier at Blackpool. Dave was saying yesterday that we really need to go down and see them arrive at the pier so I am hoping to do that before they disappear til the Autumn. Hugs Susan x
ReplyDeleteGreat cards Rachel. I love feeding the birds too and I have a great view from the kitchen window. I love the different variety we get here. Hugs to you all. Christine xx
ReplyDeleteYou have been busy....they are all fabulous Rachel....snow has gone here but it bitterly cold so staying in and crafting.....hugs xxxxx
ReplyDeleteA right jolly ole elf on each of these pretty cards. Am loving the vintage look of the Santa images with the pretty backgrounds of each card. #3 with the light coloring reminds me of the old 'handpainted' black & white photos of long ago. Brilliant work on all, and so happy you have a new bird feeder. Our yellow finches that come in the spring love the niger seeds. Such a pleasure to see them visit. TFS & Hugs.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful set of cards Rachel. Well Done. Hugs Rita xxx
ReplyDeleteLovely selection of cards Rachel.

My favourite of your cards is no3. Love the coloura you have put with him too. We would not be without the feeders in the garden. The birds have gotten so tame. the black bird will very nearly eat strsight from your palm and we think the robin has now got a mate as we saw him with a smaller/thinner version and he didn't shoo them away and they stayed eating together. The woodpecker is very much in evidence too. What a noise he makes.Lol. We keep binoculars up in the back bedroom for watching from the window and another set in the UT room downstairs. Glad your managing to get out and about. Hugs to you and the girls Mrs A.
ReplyDeleteThree great cards, Rachel!
ReplyDeleteThey are all lovely, but my fave is the first. I am from a "horsey" family and raised my girls with ponies. Nbow, Little Miss C loves horses and is always campaigning for a pony of her very own. I will show her your card and then she will be rushing out to buy that stamp...teehee
My you've been busy with some fab cards for our challenge.
ReplyDeleteI love feeding the birds too and watching them from my kitchen window. It's quite relaxing and nice to know you are helping them through the tough weather. Great time for memories too! Zx
