Monster book of monsters

Hello there! Well its Lucy's birthday party today - not her birthday until the 13th but we wanted to have the party early and be with family on the actual day. We're off to Brockhole near ambleside for treetop nets and treetop trekking. It should be good fun - 8 kids and 3 adults! I have made her a party cake - its no great shakes but I wanted a record of it here. Its meant to be the monster book of monsters from Harry Potter. This is what its meant to look like ...

Here is my version ..

Lucy's pleased - thats all that matters really! Hope it tastes okay!!!

Back tomorrow hopefully with tales of a fun day!

days 2 and 3 tags - creative chemistry

Hello lovelies - back to the treadmill that is me working through the creative chemistry 103 course. I am so enjoying it and managing to squeeze tags in here and there through the day. I haven't quite finished day 2 as I am lcking a required medium - but hopefully by the end of today I will address that! Anyway I moved on to day 3 - 2 tags down and a third drying ready to go asap!

Here's the tags I made from day 2:

This is probably a favourite - love the colours!!!

less keen on this but the technique was great and very useful.

Here are my tags so far from day 3:

lovely collage technique here ...

beautiful texture paste here

Lots of food for thought from these lessons - and I look forward to incorporating the bits I can remember into upcoming projects - and the the things that I don't remember - there's the technique tags I have made to help remind me!!!

Have a great Friday - we're off to Preston - my mum wants to see maria simms who is doing groovi work at inspirations - so we're going to take her and then I'll sweep the girls off to trampolining!!! Brilliant!

Big hugs to you!

Time to take flight at Stamps and stencils

Good morning! How are you? I hope you are well and happy! Today its time for a new challenge to start over at stamps and stencils and the theme is time to take flight. Here's what Sue had to say about this challenge.

For this challenge I would like to see anything relating to flying, so this could be a bird or a butterfly or it could be an inspirational quote that includes words relating to flying ! As always, please remember we are a mixed media challenge and you must include either stamping or stenciling or both !

I had just been asked by a friend to make a card for her so I used the theme from tis piece of work! Here's my final piece and I have a step by step below.

Here's my steps ....

Firstly I spread grunge paste through n indigo blu stencil....

once dry I painted with aladdin metallic paint from indigo blu ...

Next I stamped and coloured an indigoblu dinkie butterfly and coloured in watered down cottage paints and fussy cut them.

Next I used distress stains to create a background...

I used a TH die and embossing folder to cut three more butterflies and added clear candy crackle.

Once dry I added more stain which defined the crackle.

I added treasure gold to the roses ....

Then added a TH stamped sentiment and all the butterflies.

My friend was very pleased with the card! I hope you like it too and will join us in this months challenge.

creative chemistry 103 end of day 1 and start of day 2 plus penny's tryptych

Hello Lovelies! Well its been another busy day in the Fisher household -  combination of crafting and gym and show shopping! And tonight the girls have been to sports reach - Penny has been playing football and Lucy has been playing netball.

The crafting part of today involved more of the CC103 course - I finished off day 1 and started day 2. Here are my makes ..

This is a technique tag from day 1 ...

and this has a technique tag i already shared but I used the same technique as the tag above to create the background.

This tag was created using the first technique from day 2 ...

And this background tag is another technique tag from day 2.

This is Penny's tryptych entry to the simonsaysstampblog summer-vacation-kids-challenge where anything goes with glitter.

She has had fun doing this - but my dining room has suffered! Lol!

I'm back in the morning with a card for stamps and stencils. I hope to see you then!

Big hugs

Creative chemistry 103 day 1 technique tags plus lucy's glittertastic card.

Hello lovelies! How are you today? I hope you've had a good day! Its a late posting for me today - we've been out cycling and in crafting! Its been a bit of a hectic day but a good one! The last few days have been a bit rubbish - the girlies have both been under the weather and of course my mum hasn't been on top form. Anyway - it was good to get out into the countryside on the bikes today - lovely - can't wait for the next ride.

The fabulous Tim Holtz has started his Cretive chemistry 103 course and that has been holding my attention for the rest of the day - I only have 4 technique tags to share today as I haven't yet completed day 1 - but me and the girlies are enjoying it.. The girlies have been enjoying crafting with their own goodies too - they have seen the kids challenge over at simon says stamp and want to join in!

So here are my first 4 technique tags - no details here - you'll need to do the course!!!

Hope you enjoy whats left of the evening!

Long hot summer?

Good morning all! I hope you are feeling bright and breezy this morning - August eh? It doesn't seem possible! How on earth did that happen eh? Anyway - onwards we go and the new theme at Countryview challenges is 'Long hot summer' chosen by the lovely jane. I decided to make a card for my 1st of the month piece - it was for a very good friends birthday - hope you liked it Anne!!!

These are the elements I put together to make the card - I used various products and techniques to make them -
The sand - I mixed golden-sands infusions with a coarse texture paste and applied it to card and left to dry.
The sea: I used distress-paint-dabber---mermaid-lagoonsalty-oceanevergreen-bough and pine-needles and used a marbelling technique to achieve the effect.

The sky - I used distress paint dabbers as above but added blueprint-sketch and picket-fence again I used a marbling technique. Whilst still wet I also added some snowflake paint using a babywipe.

The main image is from Crafty Individuals...

I also added some seashells I already had at home to the card.

I hope you can join us at countryviewchallenges this month where you would be in with a chance of winning a £20 voucher to spend at countryviewcrafts.

Summer fair

Hello Lovelies... how are you? I hope you are okay. Today I have two quick cards to share with you that are being shown on the 15 min card feature over at chocolatebaroque blog today. They are both made using the beautiful summer fair stamp.

Both are super quick!

This one was simply stamped and coloured in distress pens. I then added distress ink around the outside of the lady and stamped around her using more distress ink and part of the stamp.

A more CAS card this was stamped and coloured in the same way then I added a simple border and another stamp from chocolate baroque as a sentiment!

I can't wait to use the other two season ladies - I am sure I'll get around to that soon!

Here's to a happy Sunday!

Big hugs
