A card for Sue

Good morning all - and thankyou for all the comments I received yesterday on previous posts - my phone kept going 'ping' and it just felt really good when it was a lovely comment rather than an offer from some random company that had got my details from somewhere! So thankyou for making my day!

Well its good Friday today and I'm taking the children to Blackpool Zoo - we have annual passes so can go whenever we like and today seems like a good kind of zoo day!!!

Before I go I really want to share this card with you that I've made for my friend Sue's birthday - Sue was my boss when I was a teacher but now she's retired and well I'm just mum! We meet every week to run together - and we both love gardening and cats - I really hope she'll like the card.

To make this card I've used a stamp from crafterscompanion which I've coloured using promarkers. I've diecut the image using a spellbinders die but also used my favourite tool (my big shot) to cut out the sentiment backing (memory box die) and the butterfly (marianne Creatable die). The papers were from this months quick cards and the ribbon and pins from my stash - the sentiment I've used is a a LOTV sentiment and I've added gems and flowers too plus some rose bouquets from the bargain bookshop! The card blank I used was a papermania A5 tent fold card.

I hope you like this card as much as I do. I'd like to enter it into the following challenges:
Crafters Companion: 4 legged friends
Simon says stamp: use your favourite tool (big shot)
Divas by design - anything goes
DYSU#66 Friendly Critters
Totally Papercrafts #111 Bingo (flowers, diecut and blue - its around the image!)
I think I'd better get dressed now and take the children to the zoo - have a fun day!

Singing for sunshine

Morning all - and a big welcome to new and old followers alike - its always lovely to have you looking at my work and leaving some comments - so thankyou!

Today the sky is blue and the sun is shining so it looks like the hedgies in my card must have done a good job at singing for sunshine:

I made this card - obviously for Christmas!!!! - for the snoflake challenge that I take part in on docrafts - its a bit like the winter wonderland blog - helps you to make up your Christmas cards throughout the year so that you don't get this rush on in October/November or even December. A great idea I think - but maybe that's just me trying to be too organised!

Anyhoos - onto the card - the image is a penny black image - I've stamped it and coloured in promarkers and then added glitter. I've cut the dry image out using an xcut die and mounted the whole thing on a card I covered in free paper from I think CMPC last year. Added a bow and a sentiment and bobs your uncle - there we have it! So what do you think?
I'm entering this into the singalong challenge at Penny Black this week and my snoflake challenge on docrafts. I may also enter it into the it takws two over at winter wonderland since there are two hedgies there!!!

And that's all for today - thanks in advance for any comments - and thanks for looking at my candy - hopefully I'll be at that 50 mark soon!

Love and hugs

My favourite stamp

Good morning all - its definitely rainy here in Hornby this morning but thankfully the snow that has been forecast for some parts of the country hasn't come here .......yet! You never know - I'm just hoping I wasn't a little rash in putting the sweet peas out when I did.

Enough of my mind meanderings - I've got a card to load up here before I have to dash out with my children to my mum's - hooray for Nanny!

I've only recently got this stamp but am totally in love with it at the moment - of course its from Gorjuss - I've coloured her in using promarkers and left the cat white - just like my own little furbaby - although she has a black tail! Anyway, The papers I've used are from the Nitwit collection and the lace came from dunelm mill. The swirl stamp I've used is an old one from creative expressions - might be a sheena one - can't remember. I've used some chiffon ribbon and followed the sketch from the sweet stampin challenge.

I'd like to enter this card into the following challenges:

Day one of the holidays - and a card!

Good afternoon all - well I've almost survived day one of the Easter holidays - I jest - its been fun! My girls came with me to my aerobics class this morning - they were fabulous - and we've made and decorated an cake and been to the cinema to see Mirror Mirror - that was different from how I imagined but lots of fun!

Anyway - down to craft - I had fun in the attic last night making today's offering - its probably going to be for my husband - I'm just not sure when!

Most of the stamps I've used in this project are clarity stamps but the hands are paperartsy. I've used a sheena Douglass Tag - one of those for paint fusion. I've used a variety of distress inks (spiced marmalade, walnut stain, crushed Olive ) and a distress stain (old paper). I've also used expresso adirondack ink and butterscotch too. I've used a water spritzer and my heat tool to dry between applications. I've used promarkers to add a some colour to the two balloons in the scene and also the scene trees.  I'm very fond of the result - hope you like it too! I'm entering it into the following challenges:
Simon says stamp and show: a tag
Sunday Stampers: transport
Joanna Sheen: its a man's world
Pile it on: create a scene.
More coming tomorrow I hope!

Hope you're all well and thanks for looking!

Winter wishes

Afternoon all - I've just spent a lovely day with the family at Fell Foot Park which is on Lake Windermere - the girls had a lovely time on the park and even tried out a climbing wall for the first time. It seems a million miles away from the Christmas theme of this card I've got to share with you this afternoon - but first of all - good news - I won a challenge over at Desmet designs - wohoooo! Brilliant!

I made this card using a round card blank from kanban cards. I've covered it with some paper from a 12x12" paper pack from the snowman - its got lights on it like the northern lights which I thought went well with the eskimo image I was using. The stamped image is one from LOTV - but its a very old one! I stamped and coloured it using promarkers and then added glitter on the eskimos fur hoods. I cut the image out using my new xcut dies that I won from the Creativity magazine  and added the hunkydory greeting and three flowers from my blossom and ribbon pack from Duck Pond Crafts.

I'd like to enter this card into the following challenges:
Lili's Little Fairies: Anything goes: http://liliofthevalleythursdaychallenge.blogspot.co.uk/
Winter Wonderland: It takes two:http://christmasblogchallenge.blogspot.co.uk/2012/03/it-takes-two.html

Thanks to all my wonderful followers out there for your warm and plentiful comments - long may they continue!

Easter egg hunt and card

Hiya there - I'm just starting this post now but will have to complete it later - my two little munchkins are snapping at my heels ready to go out on an Easter egg hunt at  alocal village - more about that later. We've been and returned - the girls both got a chocolate egg and mum and dad got a lovely walk! Fab!

I've got a card to show you today that I made using my new x cut die from my prize that came yesterday - it worked very well I'm pleased to say and hopefully this is the first of many postings relating to it!

This last minute Easter card was made so I had one to send to my sister -in-law down in Kent. I just realised she'd somehow managed to not get one! whoops!
Anyway, I've stamped and coloured in Tilda and cut her out to sit ontop of a giant Easter Egg. I've put this onto an easel card with lilac lace and my xcut purple spikey circle on it and added the rabbit too! The papers were free from simply card making and papercraft this issue - they are part of the nitwits range. On the base of the easel I've done a purple strip of mirri card stuck onto more papers and then along the edges I've done faux stitching. Finally I've added a bow to prop up the easel.

I'd like to enter this card into the following challenges:

DYSU #65: Sew it:
TOMIC #43 Easter
Totally Papercrafts: Easter.
Just Magnolia: Springtime

That's all for now - just hope you all enjoy the rest of your Saturday and have a fabulous Sunday!

Hugs

Rachel xx
