Christmas and summer jars

Good Morning! How are you? I hope you are well! I've decided not to risk the journey to Birmingham today but if you're going I hope you have a wonderful time. I don't fancy driving with all the rain we've been having. And I couldn't get a bus - and the train was too dear! So there we have it - I feel bad about not using the tickets I won - sorry Brenda!

I had a lovely afternoon yesterday at a workshop in Carnforth - the shop there Rowan tree Crafts has small workshops regularly but this is the first of the Christmas ones - it was a really lovely time. Here's what I made:

I made one Christmas jar and a summer jar!The techniques were the same - initially the jars are painted with gesso. Then one layer of the napkin is adhered to the side using a rolling technique and modge podge that is applied to the jar. Once this is stuck on I covered the jar in sparkle modge podge and left to dry. Once dry I added the topping. The sparkle doesn't show on the pictures but it is lovely in real life! I have some lovely poinsettia papers and look forward to trying this with the coffee pot ladies!!

Colour challenge at Chocolate baroque

Hello lovelies! How are you today? I hope you are good! I'm looking forward to a bit of a crafty day today - I'm going to a small workshop later to make a christmas jar - will probably blog about it tomorrow! Hoping its fun!

Today I have more Christmas for you - this time using CB stamps and a clarity stencil. I have used the following DI - fossilised amber, dusty concorde, bundled sage and weathered wood.

I'm going to be doing this one with the coffee pot ladies on Monday - given that they are a christian group I suspect they will really appreciate it.

I would like to enter this into the current chocolate baroque colour challenge.

Christmas again!

Hello lovelies - well it was halloween yesterday but I'm back onto Christmas today - I had to have a play with my new clarity aperture and background stencils - enjoyed making this on Sunday afternoon with my lovely mum!

It was fun to make - and enjoyable too! I started with the bauble outtie stencil in place and created the landscape then added the wee folk stamping.

Next I added the inny stencil and used another stencil to create the background surrounding the bauble.

Finally i added the noel and some glitter and of course the ribbon! I used tumbled glass DI and midnight blue momento ink throughout.

Halloween ATC's

Hello Lovelies! How are you today? I hope you are doing well. Its cold here - and that fog has been awful hasn't it? Hopefully its gone now or very soon!

Today i would like to share with you the ATC's I made for the Halloween ATC swap I was involved in:

I am looking forward to receiving those back in the post from others involved - its a great way of getting ideas on different things to make and try!

My stamps are from chocolate baroque and the bat stencil is from Tim Holtz - as is the wicked word!

I also used a mixture of distress inks!

coffee pot cards

Hello all! How are you today? Thanks for your kind words on yesterdays post. Today i have more Christmas cards to share with you - these designs were courtesy of my co-host - not sure where she sourced them from though - anyway - we had a rare old time with acetate and alcohol inks - and this is what I made.

Both stamps were stamped onto acetate in a black ink then black sparkle powder added and heat set.

This one was painted with a variety of alcohol inks.

On this one the alcohol inks were smeared onto a craft mat and then onto the acetate.

Both were tarted up with gold pen!

I like them! I hope you do too!

Hello lovelies! Did you have a good Halloween? We had lots of Halloween fun - I know some of you have seen the pictures on facebook but for those that haven't here's what we looked like for trick or treating!

My Lucy enjoyed being made up to go with her vampire costume! So many people said how they wouldn't have recognised her!

Penny decided to vamp it up with the actions rather than the make up!!!

I enjoyed dressing up with my spider headband!!! Lol! You've got to laugh! Sadly the village party was cancelled but trick or treating was very successful and the girls really enjoyed that - then they enjoyed watching strictly too! A good night I think!

Anyway - back to today's post - my 5th tag for the 12 tags of christmas sponsored by the thefunkiejunkie boutique. You can find Linda's post 

here. I took inspiration from the green, the trees and the gold embossing. Here's what I did:

I used the treescape stamp from Tim Holtz and repeat stamped it using versamark and gold embossing powder.

Next I used evergreen bough and mowed lawn in the background then added the diecut words from Tim holtz.

I then added a couple of diecut branches from tim holtz then a pine cone from an old my craft studio set I found i had! My tattered pinecone is the jumbo one and looked too big.

The colour Blue at Country View Challenges

Good Morning lovelies! How are you this new day? I hope you are well! Today there is a new challenge starting over at countryviewchallenges. The theme this month is - the colour Blue chosen by the lovely doreen. I am in full Christmas mode with this theme as I love a bit of blue for Christmas! Here's a card I made:

To make this card I started by stamping tim-holtz-mini-weathered-winter-stamps in versa mark and heat setting using opaque white wow powder. Then I used various blue DI ( faded jeans, salty ocean, chipped sapphire, stormy sky) to complete the background.

Next up was to cut words using the sizzix-thinlits-die-set-16pk---holiday-words-2-script-by-tim-holtz and add these to the front and finally to complete with a large blue bow using ribbon from Creative expressions.
