Pan pastel GDT: the final piece - Happy New year!

Hello there! Did you get my last post - it was for my second blogaversary candy - you won't want to miss out there - so if you did miss it scroll back to an older post!!!

Today is my  final GDT offering I have for the panpasteluk premium Brands Challenge. I have loved being over there and working with such a talented team - I just want to thank you all for your support and kind words and wish you all a very happy 2014!!!! The theme this week is Happy New year and as the DT we were challenged to use metallic pan pastels again along with at least one other colour - I made a Happy new year card using Sheena Douglass Stamps and a Sheena Douglass embossing folder:

To make this card I started with some black card and ran it through the maple leaf embossing folder then highlighted the raised areas using the metallic pan pastels - the gold and the copper - they are so soft - and worked - for me - just like the gilding waxes that you have probably seen used in similar ways. The stamps are also from Sheena Douglass - from the little bit Oriental range. I stamped them and coloured with pan pastels - metallics blended with normal colours. Thats about everything I think!

I'd like to enter this card into the following challenges:

Totally Gorjuss:totallygorjuss New

I hope you have a fabulous Sunday - not sure what we're doing but I will start the day with a run - I need to take myself to task over this poor diet I've been having over the festive period!!! Lol!!!!

Big Hugs and thanks for visiting!

Make a gift using fabric for Pan pastel GDT

Good afternoon - this is my final post for today - and now I'm going to have a few days off - so I won't be troubling you until after the big day!!!! I will of course be checking to see what you guys have been up to!

So this is my fourth post as GDT for the premium brands - panpasteluk challenge - as part of the DT we were challenged to use fabric in the making of a last minute gift and also to use pan pastel. I took some felt and coloured it with pan pastels - red and yellow - they blended so well even on the white felt. I then set the pastel  using crafters companion spray and sparkle. Afterwards I diecut the felt using spellbinders dies and created a layered flower. I sewed these layers together with a button for the flower centre. I then added a brooch attachment from that craft place on the rear of the flower to make a quick Christmas present for my girls - I've put them into day 6 of the 12 days of christmas box.

So there you have it - I wonder what you can come up with? Check the details of the challenge here and also get inspiration from some of the amazing DT over at the Premium Brands Challenge.

So thats all from me for a few days - just to say a really Happy Christmas to all of you and I hope that santa brings you lots of crafty goodies to play with - and that Christmas day itself is all you dreamed it would be.

Big Hugs and a big thankyou for all of your terrific comments through the year - it really does mean a lot to me!

GDT for Panpastel: Snowflakes

Afternoon all! I hope you are all having a good Sunday. Its my final post for the day and this one is for the pan pastels (premium brands)challenge. The theme this week is snowflakes and here's what I did:

I've used stamps from sheena douglass and stamped them in versa mark on the card surface then brushed over with pan pastels. It sticks to the versa mark giving a darker colour whilst the paper holds a lighter colour of the pastel. The die is from TH - and I stamped using a script die on the central snowflakes before adding the letters stamped using claritystamps.

I'd like to enter this into the following challenges:

Christmas at sweet stampin'let-it-snow - let it snow
ABC Christmas:abcchristmaschallenge Y is your own embellies
Simon says stampsimonsaysstampblog: Let it snow
MAWTT:movingalongwiththetimes Winter wonderland
allsorts CBallsortschallenge: Snowflakes.

Thanks for your support today - and any comments you have left!!! Big Hugs Rachel xx

Pan pastels Challenge: Paper

Good Morning Lovelies! How are you? Well I hope! If not hope you feel better soon! We're all good. We managed to see santa yesterday - not quite the magical experience I was hoping for - but the girls were happy and thats all that matters. The girls are excited today- they're at a jujitsu grading this morning - Lucy is going for green belt and Penny for orange belt. Fingers crossed it all goes well.

I'm here to show you what I did for the pan pastel (premium brands) challenge this week.  This week is all about paper/card - you need to ONLY use paper/card substrate in your project. This means EVERYTHING must be paper/card, ie even embellies! Now when I looked at this I thought immediately that a card would be the easiest route to take - but I didn't want to do that - I fancied trying my hand at one of those paper trees I'd seen around blogland so here's the result of my labours:

This was made using three sheets of A3 white card. I coloured two with pan pastels - (purple and green), set with crafters companion sparkle and shine silver - then cut into strips and stamped with a snowflake stamp in versamark - and heat set with sparkling silver WOW powders. The third sheet of card I rolled into a cone. Then I set about assembling my tree by cutting each paper strip into three and folding loosely and attaching to the cone with brads. Finally I cut a star in silver mirri and attached to the top of the tree.

I'd like to enter this tree into the following challenges:

Crafty Calender Challengescraftycalendarchallenge: Cold and frosty
AGOACpinkgemchallengeblog: AG
Alicraftali-craft: Christmas
TPCtotallypapercrafts: Anything Christmassy but a card
Winter wonderlandchristmasblogchallenge: Embossing
C.R.A.F.Ttrimmiescraftchallenge : Christmas
PCJpaper-craftingjourney: Christmas

I'll be back again later with a another trishutter card for Craft a scene - thanks for dropping in now and hope to see you again soon!

Big Hugs

GDT at Pan Pastels

Goodly morning to you! Phew! I've just about recovered from all of those posts yesterday - I do hope you have to but thank you all for any comments you left - it really does make my day to hear what you think! You're all very kind! In my last post I mentioned the GDT  that I got for the month of Decemeber at the panpasteluk (premium Brands) challenge. I was chuffed to bits when Nikky asked me to do it - of course it didn't take too long to think about! Lol!! Anyway, this first post is for this weeks challenge - which is winter wonderland. The DT were asked to use metallic pan pastels plus one other colour. Now metallic pan pastels is not something I own as yet - so I decided to die cut some ranger metal foil tape then emboss it using an embossalicious - or is it darice? embossing folder. The background was simply made using pan pastels and then I added the trees using an imagination Crafts mask and black stars sparkle medium. I also added silver liquid pearls.

The final item I added was the caption - capture lifes moments! This is another TH product!

I'd like to enter my mini canvas into the following challenges:

ABACanythingbutacard: AG with a holiday twist
PIO:pileitonchallenge P is for - pan pastels, purple,
totally gorjusstotallygorjuss: snow
AGOACpinkgemchallengeblog: Winter wonderland

We got our christmas tree yesterday and i took a piccie of it with my chublets!  However - I forgot to save the picture onto my stick - and the computer with it on is now closed down - so the photo will have to wait until tomorrows post!!!!

Big Hugs and thanks for dropping by today - hope to see you again soon!
