Its a fabulous hanger in three parts. We started by doing three types of what Lindsay calls flat texture - scrunched paper, texture paste through stencils and embossed paper. Next we added the letters and die cuts before covering in black paint and leaving to dry.
Then we painted the pieces with a dry brush in maya gold paints then added inca gold waxes.
I think the texture is fabulous - a big thanks to Lindsay - such a lovely day!
Lucy had her party yesterday - did you see her cake on facebook? It was amazing....
Lucy loves science and we were having a mad science party - her birthday's not until august but we though we would get the party in early this year. Here's some pics from the party itself.
Right at the start with rocket rebecca - I think that was her name!
Eating food after watching experiments and making goo.
Hover board ride.
sparklers on the cake.
candyfloss making right at the end!
She had a fabulous time! It feels funny having had the party - but we had to try it this way around! Good fun indeed.
I'm off to coffee pot today - the last one for the academic year - I'm in charge - we're making a different sort of hanger. More of that tomorrow.
Big hugs and I hope you have a great day!

ReplyDeleteGorgeous gorgeous hanger, love the metallic! Her cake is adorable and perfect for the party. Fun pictures, thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteThx for sharing the pics of your lovely little sweeties. You can see that they were having such fun. Yay for the youngster who enjoys science! She'll definitely have a great future in that kind of field, if she keeps that interest later on. Your hanger is just fabulous. It must have been such energy in the creative process that you describe, seeing the patina emerge with each layer. Really like the finshed metallic look in the different colors, and what perfect words to have on something displayed. A pretty way to remember this philosophy. Wish I could have taken this class too! So pleased you shared a bit of it with us. Hugs
ReplyDeleteGorgeous make Rachel. Lots of techniques and sounds like you had a good time. Looks like the birthday party was great too. Fabulous cake.
