Lucy's 6th Birthday Card

Morning all - I'm trying to do a secret posting today of my daughter Lucy's 6th birthday card - I was all made up and ready to go with her card and she decided to announce that her favourite colour was no longer red - now it was blue!!!! So off I trotted into my craft attic last night and made a new one - ssshhhh - here it is!

The image is from Crafty sentiments Design and I think is called party girl - I loved her when she was released this year and finally got her a few weeks ago with a 15% off offer - thanks for the heads up Shelby!!! I've coloured her with promarkers and added some glitter. My sparkle and shine  is in the form of my added extras - metal flowers - pins with a pin holder - a heart charm and gem flower. I've followed the sketch from the totally gorjuss challenge and would like to enter this card into the following challenges:

August Sale at The Crafty Pad

I chose Albert Digging for my image and this is what I did with him.

I made a pop up card for my husband for our next wedding anniversary - I must add that I've given albert a cup to hold - which doesn't come with the actual image - but I'm sure you're crafty enough to do that if you wanted to! I've coloured the image with promarkers and used glitter paper from craft-time to form the soil. I've cut shapes from funky foam for the soil and added a tree from a diecut by memory box behind Albert! The wall outer and the sentiment are both kanban. What do you think? I love him to bits!!!!

DT Post for LEJ Designs: Shabby Chic

Good morning all - and welcome to Annie - my newest follower!  This morning I've got two posts for all you - the first is my DT post for LEJ Designs where there is a new challenge starting todaylejdesignschallengeblog

There are two prizes this week. First prize winner will recieve their choice of three LEJ Design Digis - look here - Lindsay's designs are fab - and there's an ever increasing catalogue to choose from.

So the theme of today's challenge? Well its shabby chic and here's my card:

I made this for my crafty friend Anne (http://bollyanne.blogspot.co.uk/) whom I met at one of Hels Sheridan's workshops - anyway - she very kindly sent me some sheets of the glassine paper to play with and these flowers are the first play I had with them. So the card was a thankyou! You should check out her blog if you don't already go there - its fab!!!!

Anyway - the image was printed onto neenah crest card and coloured with promarkers - I've used Tim Holtz papers and DI tea dye. I've used several spellbinders dies including the bitty blossoms and the single large flower and I think that's about it!

pattern building for LIM

Good Morning to my crafty friends and followers - and a warm welcome to my new followers too! I hope you are all well and happy. I'm ready for a busy day with my girls. I survived the baby shower yesterday - thanks Michelle! I don't think, however, I'll be getting on the scales when I go to get weighed in later this morning! Oops!

Today's card came about when I was reading craft stamper on Sat night whilst watching the amazing goings on at the athletics. I was intrigued by a technique in there for making patterned paper using masking tape. Such a simple idea but I thought I would try it. First off I did it just as in the magazine with stamping and distress inks to make the backgound paper - but for my purposes that was too busy so I repeated the process just using the ink pads direct to paper over and over to create a lined/grid effect. Then I cut circles out of this and added a stamp that was free from the magazine in the circles. This is what it looks like:

The DI I used were shabby shutters and broken china. I had lots of fun doing this and I think I will be using the initial technique again in a DT piece I've got coming up - lots of fun!!!!

Gloria -s summer!

Morning all! I do hope you are well and happy? I had a fabulous day with my girls yesterday at a guiding event at Leighton Hall near Carnforth. It was great fun - they had a lovely time watching a magic show, making badges, suncatchers and bracelets, doing spacehopper and sack races, hunting for fairies in the wood and going on the climbing wall - brilliant work and a job well done to all the guiders involved!

I'm at a babyshower later today so I'll tell you how that goes tomorrow. But for today I'm back with a card - its another Mo Manning image - just can't seem to get enough of these at the moment!

I think the image is called Gloria - hence the title of the post - funny if she was called Josephine! I digress - I've printed out my image onto Neenah crest card and coloured using promarkers. Some of the papers were from a freebie stack from either quick cards or CMPC. The others have been in my stash forever. The flowers are WOC. I've used sizzix dies for two fluorishes, the shoes and glasses and the watermelon, the other die is the madera corner from memory box. The sentiment is hunkydory.

something a little different

Morning all - I hope you are all well and happy - thanks so much for all of your comments - they really do mean so much to me.
I've got something a little different to share with you today - I've altered a packaging box that create and craft send their clarity stamps out in - and made it into a gift box - then stamped some simple images on cards and turned them into note card.

The stamps are all from chocolate baroque - and the paint used to coat the box initially was paint fusion acrylic paint.

Too Cute to Spook Blog hop post for the scrapbook stamp society

Morning all - or have you not gone to bed yet? I will have done by the time this post comes out! So its the 3rd August and that means its too cute to spook hop time at the scrapbook stamp society. There are 10 of us taking part - all using different images along the Halloween theme. My image is a cutey pie called Kitty Boo - she's by Heather Valentin and you can get her here.

So little Boo is carrying bestfriend Kitty around with her on her trick or treating mission! She's definitely too cute to spook me!

And so to my recipe: I've printed the scrapbook stamp society image out onto neenah crest card and coloured her with promarkers then cut her out. I've made up a folded tent card from a piece of 14 x 14 centura pearl card cut down to normal A5 landscape width and used a scoreboard to make the folds. The background and street foreground came free in this months papercraft inspirations - I've just kept it flat and then darkened it up with DI Black soot. I've made the bunting from some old orange paper and handwritten letters on each piece - and finally I've used some forgotten stash - my stampin' up pumpkins - and added them to foreground and background (stamped in DI Spiced marmalade - faces in archival black).
