More feather makes for chocolate baroque

Hello there! How are you? I do hope you have enjoyed the holiday weekend? We have had wonderful weather ...its been summer here - just beautiful! I do hope we can have more again soon!

I thought I would post some more of my samples using those lovely feather stamps from Chocolate Baroque.

In this first one I stamped coloured and fussycut the feathers before mounting on a brusho background.

This one I didn't notice on the TV - but I hope it was there! The canvas is an acrylic pour and the feathers from the gold relief paste.

More gold relief paste feathers and some frantage in the background!

I hope you like these samples!

GDT at stamping sensations

Good Morning all! Are you enjoying this sunshine??? Its been fabulous here and we're set for it to last for the next few days too. Fingers crossed.

Today I am lucky enough to be guesting over at Stamping Sensations where the new theme is 'Close to Nature'. They are sponsored by chocolate baroque so I had plenty of stamps to choose from. I decided to do a small canvas. I stamped the images, masking as I went and then painted in acrylic paints.

I used the sunny sunflower stamps plus a sentiment stamp also from Chocolate baroque.

I can't wait to see what everybody else has done. Hope you'll be able to join us.

I had a lovely time on Friday night at Wray Scarecrow Festival. They set a new guiness world record - we all had to dress as scarecrows.. there were 298 of us daft enough to join in!!!

Image may contain: 2 people, people smiling, hat, eyeglasses, outdoor and closeup this is before we added all the straw!!!

Image may contain: 3 people, people smiling, people sitting, hat, tree, child and outdoor

More humour at Countryview Crafts

Hello there! I have another post for you today hopefully inspiring you to join us at Countyview Challenges where the theme this month is humour! I have used a stamp from the same paperartsy set as on the 1st....zinski-art-set-22 and used them and paint to make a tag.

Below are the main steps I made in making the tag. First I got my fingers dirty and did some finger painting. I used acrylic paints from Indigoblu in colours grandmas teacup, park lane and kingfisher blue.

Next I used the same paints and some Trish Latimer stamps to do some background stamping.

Whilst this was drying I painted my stamped image and then fussy cut it.

Next I went back to the tag and added some black ink using the same stamps.

Finally I added the image onto the tag and also added some words! This technique is that used in a Trish Latimer workshop that I went to earlier this year - I just love the effect!

I do hope you can join us in this theme - you can link your makes here.

I would like to enter this into craftstamper take-it-make-it-challenge-may

playing with aallandcreate

Hello there! How are you? I hope you are well! I started work yesterday as an invigilator at the school across the road from me - I had 3 and 3/4 hours looking after students prior to their french GCSE orals. I think I was more nervous than they were! I'm back in again today for 2 hours training! A bit back to front but hey ho!

I have been very tempted by the new release at allandcreate and have been playing with a new tracy evans stamp and a kassa stencil....

The sentiment is from chocolate baroque but the rest is alland create. I did the background using pixie powders then stamped the image. I coloured parts of the image with the pixie powders too and then used distress inks through the kassa stencils.

Here's a close up of the stamped area....

I hope you have a great day!

Fake it - at stamps and stencils

Hello there! How are you today? I hope you are good! There is a new challenge starting at stamps and stencils today and the theme is 'Fake it' ...its Toni's theme and here's what she had to say....

I love faux finishes of all descriptions whether it be rust, stone, leather or time worn vintage. You  name it we have the power to fake it! I'd like to see your projects that include at least one faux finish. Produce anything you like but please include some stamping or stencilling or both if your heart desires!

Here's my make!

I enjoyed using a stamp set from tracy evans at allandcreate and lovely baked textures by seth apter - i used the chunky rust and the patina oxide in this creation - I was, of course, trying to creat faux rust!

I started with a tag and some distress oxides and a distress ink....

I used these to colour the tag then added some chunky rust to the outside using versamark as a sticking medium...I then heat set.

Next, through the Tim Holtz bubbles stencil I added some versa mark then added the patina oxide
and heat set

Next I added some tim holtz resist spray and more chunky rust, heat set, more spray, and patina oxide. I was liking it at this point so went on to do some stamping. First I stamped some words on the tag....

Then I used more distress ink and coloured a piece of card before stamping in versamark and adding chunky rust then heat setting and then cutting out the butterflies and dragonflies before adding them to the tag. I also coated a compass diecut from tando with versmark and then added chunky rust and heat set.

Here's what the tag looked like until I added a couple of Tim Holtz words.

I hope you can join us! You'll find the link here.

I would like to enter my tag into the challenge at mixed-media-monthly-challenge-48 where the theme is rust.

Lesley's shows yesterday

Good morning! How are you? I do hope you got to see the Chocolate Baroque shows on Hochanda yesterday. There were some brand new stamps and I was lucky enough to make some samples for the show.... here's a few...

I made this one along at Pottyroos again - stamped in glaze then added the coloured glaze to the feathers....

This bag was created by stamping directly onto the canvas and then painting with acrylis paints. I also stamped and painted some onto some fabric I had left over and cut these and roughly sewed them to the bag too.

Finally a card - stamping with versamark onto black card, heat setting with clear embossing powder and colouring with spectrum noir pencils designed for black card.

I loved working with these feathers - they are so very versatile. If you got them I hope this is a little inspiration for you!

Make it humourous at Countryview Crafts

Hello there! How are you? I hope you are good! Can you believe its May already? How did that happen? This year is truely racing away!

Over at Countryview challenges this month is all about humour! Monika has chosen the theme and I decided to use some paperartsy stamps in my first piece this month.

What a cake eh? The words I have stolen from a sign in my Mother in Law's kitchen. They have been there for years!

To make my background I used distress oxides in wilted violet, shaded lilac and cracked pistachio and then did some overstamping in these colours using some Trish Latimer background stamps.  The main image is from zinski-art-set-22. I stamped him on a piece of card and watercoloured in distress ink before fussy cutting and adding to the background.

You can join our challenge here.
