GDT for Christmas Card Challenges

Hello there - good morning to you lovelies out in blogland! I hope you are well and having a good weekend. Today sees the first of 4 Sundays of cards for me as a GDT member of the christmascardchallenges. Thanks for having me on board for January!

My brief for this week - and yours should you choose to take the challenge - is to rip it, tear it, sand it.

This is what I made:

I've used coordinations card stock and embossed it with a me to you folder then sanded to reveal the core colour. Then I've ripped and torn to create rough edges on my mat. The rest involves claritystamp verse and spellbinders dies plus two ribbons.

I'd like to enter this card into the following challenges:

Willow Sketchiewillowsketchiechallenge: Anything goes

A copy card

Hi there folks in blogland - I've been cheating today - I've made a card that is amost identical to the one that my good friend Anne (here) sent me for Christmas - its such a stunner - and I managed to get hold of the stamp the other day - so I had to have a go. Now this stamp may well be coming up quite a lot over the next year - its such a corker - if you haven't seen it before its from stampendous - if you have - you'll know what I mean - thanks for the inspiration Anne - you're a star!!!!

Oh I just adore it - what an amazing stamp! I've stamped directly onto the card using archival ink - then stamped onto stamping card - and used DI tumbled glass to add the blue in the background and the centre. I've coloured in the windows and holly using promarkers and added glitter to the roofs and snowy field - that's not showing up too well but its there. Finally I've added liquid pearls randomly to diagonally opposed corners. The central oval and holly have been decopaged ontop.

I'm not entering this card into any challenges - its too much of a copy - from a friend's inspired card - so thanks again Anne - I really do love it xxx

See you again soon and thanks for visiting!

tim's tags of 2013 - January

Evening all! Well its been another full day - managed to do mine and my mums shopping and go to an exercise class - Penny's hair has been put right too - as the photos below show:

Not sure why the second one has come up in black and white - but you get the idea - I think she looks very cute and cheeky and is totally forgiven - we had a few tears though as I'm sure you can imagine!

Onto today - I've decided to join in with Tim's tags this year - and here's Tims then mine:

I've enjoyed doing this - used a couture embossing folder and DI scattered straw, wild honey, faded jeans and walnut stain. Also Distress stain antique paper. I've used momento metallic inks to colour the cogs that I cut with spellbinders dies into grunge paper - the words are William Blake and the stamp from clarity. The brad and watch charm were from my lovely mum for christmas - I think the charm is creative expressions. The hand is paperartsy.

I'd like to enter my Tag into

Daisy's card

Evening all! I hope you are all well and happy? I've had a wonderful day with my two little girls - we've been toy shopping and had lunch at pizza hut - and then spent the afternoon in the attic making tags from this years Christmas cards - Penny was using the big shot and Lucy the Grand Calibur - I have all of my dies on magnetic sheets on the wall and they just kept wandering along and changing their dies - and I got on with some DT work!!!! Fabulous - such a lovely and peaceful day! We're off to my mums tomorrow and have got the hairdresser coming - Penny decided to take the scissors to her hair a few days ago - bless her! We need to get it sorted before she goes back to school on Monday - she's a sausage!

Anyway before I show you tonights card - I need to tell you about this at Crafty Sentiments:

Check it out here- can't wait to have a look myself!

Anyway - onto today's card - its for the daughter of my friend Danielle. She's called Daisy and will be 1 soon:

The image is, of course, from LOTV and has been coloured with promarkers. The daisy's are from WOC - and the name stamps are from Claritystamp. The papers are first edition and the message stamp is LOTV. the bee charm was from my stash. I've cut the image with a new spellbinder die (to me) - its called romantic rectangles.

I'd like to enter the card into the following challenges:
